Patreon is suspending the game unless all external links to the patreon are removed. May I please ask a favor of the posters below to please edit their posts to have the links removed?

Man I am sick of seeing promising concepts being ruined by creators bending over backwards to appease Patreon or Steam.

That still doesn't make any sense, though. The content doesn't disappear if someone doesn't link to it. The demanded act has no logical linkage to the purported result... and how do we know the person posting this claim is telling the truth? It's not like he's presenting proof or anything. For all we know it could be a troll seeing how gullible we are.

It's wolfzq, they made similar requests not to host any conversations about Cursed Armor on this forum.
They're a delusional creator with a very good game, but a personal crusade against piracy while ironically providing spending incentives that consist of outfits based on other licensed IP.
They think that all the people who are pirating the game would be out of their mind to spend $125 for the same experience if piracy was not an option.

Not quite. It's more that this Patreon censor made the decision to ban it because they believed the creator was advertising on places Patreon didn't want to be associated with. Meaning the censor thinks it's the creator themselves posting it, not randoms. I agree this is ridiculous, but this is the reason.
I suspect it was mostly the Chinese sites that the censor couldn't read that were the issue, but to be safe, I'm checking piracy sites too.
There's some issues with converting to subscribestar or kofi at the moment, hence trying to get the patreon back online.
I acknowledge what you're saying about a potential troll, but I would say that it would be very illogical for someone to sign up on ulmf 10 years ago and then decide to start spreading misinformation amongst the community. Older accounts have credibility in the online world, so throwing that away on an immature troll would be extremely poor judgment and a waste of energy.
I'm not wolf, no. Just a fan trying to help out the creator since this threatens the game development. Realize that, even as a pirate, the game developers are people too with their own problems in life and are doing their best. Even if you disagree with their philosophy, why spitefully try to wreck what they do? That doesn't make anyone happier anywhere. Surely you see that even if you only pirate, trying to make things harder for the creator doesn't actually benefit you or anyone else, right?

Yes, all of that is true. I'm saying that the Patreon censor, on top of that generic blanket ban, ALSO said that they believed the creator was advertising in locations they didn't approve of. I'm friends with the designers; this isn't solely just some Karen reporting them, they were specifically told about the "other places" that the Patreon was being linked to.
Like I said above, this is ridiculous and absurd, but this is what we have to work with. Using Ci-En or Subscribestar is difficult for them at the moment.

Well the patreon link IS staying in the OP so it's a moot point. Feel free to tell patreon's lapdog to contact me, he'll find very quickly I'm not the creator.
What Patreon wants is "no links anywhere" not from any site at all so they can try to pull full censorship, like they've done to hundreds of other creators. There's a reason why so many simply closed up shop and went to other platforms. If you wanted a better example of modern prudes, you couldn't get much better than Patreon these days.

I'm not accusing you of being wolf. I'm saying that wolf is involved in the development of this game and had a similar request in the past.
The reason I am so spiteful towards Patreon creators is because I used to be a long time Patreon supporter for many projects where the creators basically said "Fuck all the money you invested in our game, fuck all the expectations we set for you, our focus now is new customers".
These people are aware that Patreon is not the ideal platform for the type of content that their game contains, yet they still decide to try their luck with it because it gives them the fattest paycheck.
They lure people in with one set of expectations and then when the time comes and they draw Patreon's attention they'll just "compromise" and cut all offending content that other suckers spent all this time funding.

I'm not sure Patreon can even dictate if people post links on websites that are not their own and it's really none of their business otherwise. I wouldn't even know where to begin on how to enforce such a thing either way.

I think the creator's problem is that having external websites discussing the game de-obfuscates its content and makes it easier for Patreon investigators to realise that it is breaching their rules.
I apologize if there was any confusion, please let me explain the situation in more detail.
The designer of the game is NOT Wolfzq. The designer is Bflat, who is doing virtually all the work on their own.
Wolf's role is more of a mentor. He does not dictate how the game is done, but assists B with all the stress and struggle of coordinating artists, translators, and other jobs.
B is currently forced to rely on Patreon. He is fully aware it is not a good company. However, due to various legal and political reasons from that region of the world, other options like Subscribestar and Ci-En are not ideal. This does not mean they are completely off the table--just that, for this project, Patreon is in control. This may change in 2022, but right here, right now, one must work with the tools one has.
Patreon is aggressively banning content that is linked from other sites. They check HTTP referral logs and addresses. I do not support or condone this. No one wants to encourage this. However, there is a time and place to make a stand, and, at the moment, B is under a lot of emotional stress and economic pressure, especially as the end of the game is in sight. He has an entire game's worth of bugs, typos, and errors that need fixing--that's a full time job for a team of people, much less 1 person and a few friends. He has enormous amounts of daily work to do, and now has to fight with Patreon just so he can make rent that month.
The world's chaotic right now. Everyone's stressed and angry from the pandemic and politics. All B wants to do is make something that people enjoy. He's a good guy, and a good friend. This isn't the time for anyone to risk their monthly income. I fully agree that it is ridiculous for Patreon to blame people for links beyond their control, but right now, in 2021, a single game designer relying on them to live isn't going to be able to force the international company to change policy. All we can do is follow Patreon's rules, get the page unsuspended, and push through to the finale of the game so everyone can enjoy the finished product.
There will be a time and place to strike at Patreon and send them a message, but this isn't quite the moment yet. Thanks for understanding, everyone, it is appreciated.
