RPG [ Bias Factory] [ バイアスファクトリー] CRISIS CELL ~Underground Experiment Facility Infiltration~ / クライシス・セル ~地下実験施設潜入~ (RE192792) (RJ192792)

Thanks for the response, and you've actually done me a huge favor as someone who's only really interested in the H scenes. I can still access all the other H scenes on your game save without it crashing, and I know using a texthooker is possible so just gotta figure it out. WIsh I could play the other plug invade games to see the lore on the other girls but Crisis Cell is definitely the best out of all of them.

If you could, could you load up your own Crisis Cell game save and see if it crashes at the end of the first H scene as well? That will at least help me confirm if its a problem with the game or my pc, even though its likely the game itself.

Launched my own copy, and it worked fine. I actually half expected to run into issues, because I don't think I've played it on my newer Windows 11 yet, and compatibility issues are a thing sometimes. But nope, worked fine. Tested the first three logs just to be safe, and the all worked fine.

Have you tested the scene without using the text hooker? Maybe there was a hitch in your download and that particular scene missed something?

Just recently downloaded the game (plug invade) on a different computer without any text hooker installed and still got the same error. I actually haven't been able to get the text hooker working yet as this is my first time trying to MTL an eroge, but I don't think its the cause.

Granted, my laptop isn't exactly built for gaming and my pc is somewhat old so combined with the fact yours is still working its probably something with the specs.

Don't know if I can post links here so I can email you a download link to plug invade, maybe try playing it yourself and see if you get the same crash. I bought the game off of dlsite so if your game crashes too that probably means theres something wrong with the file itself. Though its likely because of my own pc/laptop. It's an eroge so you can just spam click to see if you get past the first H scene.

I'll be buying a pretty modern gaming pc off of my friend soon so I'm hoping that can fix whatever issue I'm experiencing if its spec related.

Booted my copy (v. 1.07) up and hooked it with Textractor to test; I have four different "TextOutA" options and my third one down has the actual text. I'm hooking it fine.

The girls in the various plug/invade games were always a bit too young-looking for me, so I never checked them out.

Crisis Cell is good shit though, can't complain about a reminder to go boot it up.

What type of translation aggregator do you use to actually MTL the text? I have textractor installed but when I attach it to the game it inserts the hooks but doesn't inject them (I think, could be wrong) The text stops at Textractor: inserting hook: SysAllocStringLen and then nothing happens. Is this because of textractor itself or because I don't have a translation aggregator installed?

On some good news, I figured out I needed to install locale emulator for the japanese text to actually register on both Crisis Cell and Plug Invade, now they both run smoothly without crashing. I'm going to try Sugoi Japanese Translator and see if it'll work now that I've fixed the crashing problem, but I may try the one you use as well if you could tell me it.

I just use Textractor's built-in translation extension. And currently the Bing one, because Google did something a while back that made Google Translate less reliable.

Yeah, Locale Emulator is important to have. You'll sometimes need to run games in Locale Emulator's admin mode just to have them work right, even if you've already set your system locale to Japanese.

You do normally need to actually do something to display some text before Textractor can find the the correct hook. Opening up a scene and getting the first dialogue box should do it; the "preview" text that's displayed in this game's scene selection is outputting to a different channel than the actual text for the scenes.

I did try opening up textractor with bing translate at the first dialogue box in the first scene but still nothing. Even tried un and reinstalling it. Same for both Crisis Cell and Plug Invade. If all else fails I’ll try OCR.

These are the settings the setup video I followed told me to use, maybe this could be the cause?

Honestly, you should probably be asking in the tech support forum.

I am thinking of a time a few years back where I had certain games that wouldn't display/hook correctly no matter what, and it turned out the problem was that my OS had been corrupted by the impending death of my SSD. That was a hell of a discovery.

While I'm not positive, I suspect the problem is going to turn out to be with your machine and not Textractor or Crisis Cell.

Correct. I'm not issuing any warnings but if this discussion is going to continue any further it should do so in an appropriate thread, mostly because if anyone else runs into similar issues they're never going to find the answers sitting in this thread.

Turns out I was just looking in the wrong place and textractor was indeed hooking the text, so all is well now!
