This thing aint dead unless I say it is. Remember: Patience is a virtue.

I severely overestimated how much time I'd be able to invest in this over the holiday season but quite frankly; family comes before porn. I'm not gonna make any promises about a release, but at least know I'm still working on it.

Welcome back! And I'm glad to hear that I was wrong about this being dead. I will be patient from now on :D

Meanwhile, I decided to give a try to this little thingy:

And prepared a machine translation, using partial provided in the thread before. The result translation is quite bad, but still understandable - with some hillarious out of context lines here and there :) overall I enjoyed the game even with machine translation, although it would be better with a full one.

I updated my first post with important new info, but I guess that doesn't count as a bump, so to make sure everyone sees it I'll post it here too.

Now, for why I decided to quit this translation project. I decided, in my infinite wisdom, to attempt to translate the notoriously difficult native scenes returning from the third game. I figured I should get them out of the way early on, if I even could, because if I left them to last there was no way I was going to be able to translate them. I wish I had just decided not to translate them, because the one and a half H-scnes I translated, along with the dialogue and other stuff from the natives, effectively killed off all enjoyment I had from translating the game. In 2017 the only work I've done is moving H-scenes to the gallery and translated 3 new H-scenes. Those native scenes left a really bad taste in my mouth that turned me off the whole thing, and after Persona 5 hits next month I know I'm not going to get this thing finished for the forseeable future. So I've decided to release everything that I've done.

Once again, I really, truly am sorry for everyone who was getting their hopes up. Not having those Sansei scenes translated are a fucking albatross around my neck, and I'm really dissapointed they're going to be left untranslated. I hope someone else picks this up to finish what I started cus' I really want to see this game get translated, despite what it may seem like. Who knows, if months go by and nobody picks it up I might return to it. Don't get your hopes up though. That being said, I hope that at least this satiates all your hunger for the translation, since it can't satisfy it. A fair warning though, as I mentined earlier I have not proofread anything, so expect a plethora of mistakes, both small and major.

This game was translated into russian lot of months ago, maybe it's easier to translate from russian that from japanese (well, it's much easier).
Maybe someone may complete the translation. I could finish this I'm actually a translator, but right now I have a lot of things to do.
If someone think that he can finish it using russian translation I can give him a data folder.

That's too bad. I remember the scenes with the natives in Rio 3 were the reason why candyfloss ended up not doing that one.

Here's hoping VCT or sandchainz translate this once they're done with their current projects or have time hehe. I'm curious about the Russian to English translation of Rio 5. I probably won't be able to tell the difference lol.

Take in mind that russian and eglish sentence's structure are pretty similar. And japanese is a way different, so obviously translating from russian is much easier ;)

That's neat. I didn't know that. I don't intend to learn the language, but I've actually been learning a lot of Russian history over the past several months. While I've been angry at their current and former governments, I have deep respect for the Russian people. They beat the Nazis! That's pretty badass and doesn't get enough credit in the west. Most of what we learn in the States is about how the Nazis got crushed on D-Day because "America." We actually learn very little about the Eastern Front or Great Patriotic War. We are fortunate today that the Russians were so resilient against the greatest war machine known to man back then.

The more history I've learned, the more I've figured out that we are all just people. We all have families and we all love our children. But most of all, we love Rio and porn :D

I wouldn't glorify the Russians. I'm sure there is no need to remind that they were on the same side as the nazis until 1941.

Not russians beaten nazis URSS beaten nazis, those are not only russians but all the other countrys in the union sovietica :)

Yeah, Rio rocks, but to be honest didn't like Rio 5 as much as the previous parts :(
