Chapter 1 - Introductions Are a Plus

Re: Chapter 1 - Introductions Are a Plus

After tagging along while everyone got their stuff, and arriving at the warehouse. Ronny just sits on the ground while River explains about the different clans and who's what. Though he's not really paying that much attention as he seems to be contemplating something else.

Re: Chapter 1 - Introductions Are a Plus

River pulled out a small knife, making a slice about four inches long in the top of the pallet she was sitting on, and pulled out a rock about the size of a ping-pong ball. Without warning, she tossed it over to Ronnell, aiming to bounce it off the top of his head.

"Did I mention there's going to be a test later?" She asked impatiently. "Might as well spit it out, what's on your mind?" She said, crossing her arms in front of her chest.

((Feel free to decide if he's paying enough attention, it won't do anything appreciable anyways ;) ))

Rosary chuckled quietly at the rock and the apparent target.

The test didn't worry her. If she picked up anything as a student, it was how to learn quickly and to take a test. At least she knew more about her clan now. Tremere.... She still had the book clung tightly against her chest. There'd be time later to read it.

Re: Chapter 1 - Introductions Are a Plus

Izzy herself has a backpack for her clothes and things slung over one shoulder and what looks like (and is) a laptop bag on the other. If anyone asks about it, her response is "I have a schedule to reconfigure and the sooner I do that, the better." She leaves the thing be, though, while listening to River talk about the different clans, taking in most of the information and appreciating the woman's sense of humor about it all.

As River tosses the rock, though, she winces, whether it connects or not.

"Methinks someone's depressed still," she remarks of Ronny's morose attitude.

Fletch has changed into a solid pair of denim jeans and a long-sleeve blue plaid shirt over a white T-Shirt. Only the cap remains the same. A pair of work gloves stick out of the back pocket of his jeans though, and his footgear looks fit for a hiking trip.
His arms are crossed in front of his chest as he listens to River's explanations, paying most attention to the explanation of his own clan. So invisibility and super speed. Those are going to be an interesting few days.

Finally out of that dress and into a pair of jeans and a t-shirt, with her ratty sneakers on, Eve felt more relaxed than she had in a while. "Excuse me, How will we figure out which clan we are? Is there... well a test?"

Re: Chapter 1 - Introductions Are a Plus

Ronny's paying more attention than it seems and tries to catch the rock as it's thrown.

"I'm paying attention, I'm just trying to decide wether I really need to or not. I think Eve may have been right earlier tonight."

(Ronell, one n fer godssakes. Sorry I hate when people spell my name with two n's)

Unlike the others, who had changed into more "casual" clothes upon reaching home, Luna's attire remained unchanged for the most part. Still sporting the same black trenchcoat, gloves, and boots as before, one might question what the white-haired woman had actually been doing during her visit home. That is, if not for the abnormally large case strapped to her back which made it seem as if she had cleaned out her entire closet and stuffed everything inside. But as for its actual contents?... Let us just say that there were many highly volatile items inside.

Upon Eve asking her question regarding the clans, Luna also added her own personal inquiry onto that, expressing one of the things she desired to know the most.

"...In addition to learning which clan we are from, how might one learn the "abilities" of others? From my previous knowledge I believe there is a way to "learn" the unique abilities of other kindred, is there not?

Re: Chapter 1 - Introductions Are a Plus

Byron had used the chance to pack some basic stuff at his home, mostly consisting of everyday use items.
Having gotten rid of his bloodstained clothes, he is now wearing a more casual suit, although he carefully chose a fabric that is more wear resistant, not knowing what to expect.. or when he will be given a chance to get back here. He packs a small bag with spare clothing, his mobile and very basic version of a portable medkit. One never knows when he might be needing those.

Then he follows River back to the warehouse, where he listens to her explanation of the clans - his interest quite high, although his mood is dulled a little, as he is still left without information about his own bloodline. Thus, any of the things explained might apply to him.. or none. And Byron was never feeling at ease with such important things unknown..
Her mentioning a test only sparks his uneasyness more and a queasy feeling of hunger spreads in his stomach already for a few hours.. The stale blood of the recently deceased body the last thing he had.. and little well it did to him, his sickness having increased ever more over the time travelling.

Claire was leaning against one of the palettes. She had gone back home, and changed her blood spattered jacket, though she still remained in uniform. She had taken a look at herself in the mirror in her bathroom after washing the blood off her chin, and was shocked to see how young she looked suddenly. The wrinkles that had slowly etched their way into her face over the years were gone, the gray hairs that had started to run rampant through her mane had gone back to their original brown. Even her breasts were as firm from when she was in her twenties. It was certainly beyond what she thought possible... but then again, this entire night was strange.

Now she leaned against the palette and listened to River speaking of the various clans, especially interested in what she had to say of the Gangrel.

"Well cheer up. You're dead, the worst is already behind you." She says unsympathetically to Ronell, before answering the others.

"There isn't a standardized test, but someone who knows enough about the clans can pick up on the things unique to most of them, like how Lasombra don't cast a reflection, or how only Ravnos can craft illusions. There are a few that might be harder to pin down, but it shouldn't be that much of a problem."

"As for learning disciplines that your clan doesn't grant you, there are ways, but I wouldn't worry about that for now, as the costs usually outweigh the benefits, at least here with the beaurocrats. Focus on what you have first, hmm?" She says in a sarcastic motherly tone, before turning back to the group as a whole. "Alright, cots are in the basement through that door," she says, pointing to said door in the wall. "Tomorrow night is when the real fun begins. I'll have some fun, try to figure out what all of you are, and then we'll settle down and go through 'The Traditions', and we'll go for food sometime, too. I'll be down in a bit, I have to make sure these things don't squish someone tomorrow." She says, tapping the pallet she was sitting on.

"Fine then I'll just be a happy vampire, too bad I can't smile like Rashar over there. Shall we have a happy little group hug first or can we just head down, Sire." He says with an oddly sincere looking smile on his face.

Re: Chapter 1 - Introductions Are a Plus

Eve nodded, then frowned. "Did they catch all of the ones that embraced us?"

Re: Chapter 1 - Introductions Are a Plus

Byron silently watches the scene, still unsure about his company in this place. He has never felt at ease with new people and only the lack of choice made him accept this situation so easily. Being all cramped in to the basement with so many strangers who do not seem all at ease with each others presence is creeping him out a little - but he will have to deal.

Byron uses a short pause in Rivers explanations to slip to the cots, throwing his bag onto a matress and seeking the bathroom. His sickness has grown ever more, the blood revolting in his belly. Maybe just a normal effect of the transformation.. maybe one has to learn to feed of the human blood.. but the others do not appear sick..

He decides to step back, asking River about it in a fitting moment, when he has the feeling that not too many are listening - being a little ashamed about his state:
'Miss River.. I have a problem that I would like to adress.. during my 'embrace', I was forced to feed from a recently deceased corpse.. and.. I have been unwell ever since.. and it is getting worse by the minute. I am not sure what is the cause of this.. the others do not seem ill to me. Does our new body require a certain quality of blood to sustain itself?'
Byron lays a hand on his stomach, dulling the stabs of pain a little.

Re: Chapter 1 - Introductions Are a Plus

Claire ran a hand through her hair, and pushed herself off the palette. She was tired, she was heading for one of the cots downstairs.

Re: Chapter 1 - Introductions Are a Plus

Oh, this was going to get interesting... Izzy shot a sideways glance at Ronny as the sarcasm just oozed off of that word. She was set to head downstairs when she heard Eve's question and decided to wait, which, in turn, delayed her long enough to note Byron's return as well. Best to learn while she could. Finding a bunk could wait.

Re: Chapter 1 - Introductions Are a Plus

Like Izzy, Fletch was about to leave when Eve asked the question. He had just assumed that The Bitch is still out there somewhere. He turns around and folds his arms again. He really hopes they have single beds down there - bunk beds would be an unpleasant reminder.

Re: Chapter 1 - Introductions Are a Plus

Not really caring if they caught the agent who changed him (They had countless agents anyway so one made no difference), Rashar pulls out a brightly collored and sparkley package that he had retrieved from his house before going down to find his cot. If he has to sleep here, he is going to make damn well sure that he is safe from the agents as he does so, and that means preparing the area around his bed with mystic sigils and protective markings. As he goes, he will keep an eye out for any single cots in corners where he can most easily use his limited supplies to maximum effectiveness.

Re: Chapter 1 - Introductions Are a Plus

"Not all of them. Very few, actually. Of the three that got the largest handful off you guys, I think only Fang died, Mist's brother. Rashar's sire got away, not really a big surprise. I caught Clara's , but other than him captured and Fang dead, everyone else got away." River explained, completely ignoring Ronell's comment as she turned to Byron.

"It may be the age of the corpse, or it may be an indication of your clan. Just try to keep it down until we can go hunting tomorrow, alright? Won't do to yave you puke it all back up and then go crazy from hunger your first night." She said, hopping off her pallet and starting to push it along the floor with only a moderate effort.

Re: Chapter 1 - Introductions Are a Plus

Izzy was doing quick tabulations in her head regarding what she'd heard about the others being Embraced and trying to figure out the numbers here. Shaking her head, she decided not to worry about it overmuch. There were other things to be concerned about, one of which was weighing her down on her left side.

Laying a hand lightly on Raven's shoulder, she tipped up to speak quietly to him. "I'm going to see if I can find us a double downstairs," she says with a slight grin. "Then I'm going to get to work."

If he goes with her, that's fine, but at the moment, she heads for the basement, glancing around a little as she does so. Rashar's work gets her most immediate attention and she finds herself staring at it for a moment or two before putting her attention on the other cots. Ideally, without disrupting ones that have already been claimed, she looks for two that are close together or can easily be made so. That done, she kicks off her shoes, tucking them and her backpack underneath the cot she's now sitting Indian-style on and brings the laptop bag around to get at the contents.

With a sigh, she boots the thing up, checking to see if she can even get any sort of a connection down here, intending to see what she can do about re-arraning her class schedule.
