This is the 4th game from Elithheart, who made Legend of Ogre Buster and Lord of Hell Road.

In this game we follow Rhijne, guardian of the World Tree, which was cursed by humans who fell into the hands of demons. She's on a quest to purify said Tree. There's also Izrell, who was captured and Rhijne has to save her before she becomes corrupted.

The gameplay is pretty simillar to the previous games but with a RPG aspect. Go around the stage beating enemies and collect gems which you'll use to level up Rhijne stats and skills. You have an armor meter and after it depletes enemies will be able to rape her once they knock her down.

English language setting available. The dialogue is unstranslated, but some story bits are machine translated by the circle. UI is fully translated.
Controls (Gamepad Compatible):
↑ ↓ ← → - Move up / down / left / right
Z - Sword Attack
X - Kick
C - Low Attack
Z+X Special Attack
F10 - Pause
F11 - 10 times more damage (Can active and deactivate at any time)
F12 - Retry Stage
F2 - Restart Game

This guy's games have gotten worse over time. Hell Road (the first) was the best one out of all of them.

Make sure to upgrade the combo attack string before the first level by the way. You'll have a even worse time if you don't.

As an aside, this seems to be the 4th of a set of bad sidescrollers with crap controls with the same stage select/upgrade/gallery interfaces released in ~6M in the past year (from ~June to ~December)

I guess artists wanting to make a quick profit? I imagine these kind of games aren't really hard to make, it may even take less time than making yet another cookie-cutter rpg maker game if you consider the fact there's little to no text to write. At least the art itself is decent enough to warrant a play or two.

The hell is up with this game? Can't even get past the main menu. None of the keys or mouse buttons work except F2 to restart the game. Tried plugging in a controller and nada.
