Epic Quotes

Re: Epic Quotes

Yeeaaahhh..... Lohgain kinda got the axe in both my previous run-throughs... and it's looking like it'll happen again in the new run I'm doing... I just can't bring myself to NOT kill him. I just plain don't like the guy. At all.

I think it's his haircut.

Re: Epic Quotes

*snickers* That game does have awful hair, doesn't it?

And I'm only sparing him this one time so I can sacrifice him to the archdemon :D Alistair's next...

My feelings on Logain are... conflicted. I thought he was a great fighter who always did what had to be done, before I even booted the game up. I blame the prequel book I read for having any good sentiment about him. This of course made his betrayal hold that much more of a sting.

Re: Epic Quotes

Therefore adding more to the story and enhancing the performance...

Where can I find this prequel story?

Re: Epic Quotes

There's two books out currently, both of which are currently transitioning from trade/quality paperback (big sized) to mass market (run of the mill paperbacks) so it might make them a little difficult to get ahold of at the moment (I know I can't get them at my bookstore, but I haven't tried online sites yet.)

They are The Stolen Throne (Maric's story) and The Calling (Grey Warden focus). Both are written by David Gaider, who also worked on the game.

Re: Epic Quotes

Both are on the shelves on my local Indigo book store. Dunno if Chapters is Canadian only... so if yer in the States try a Barnes and Nobles. Don't know of any major book stores across the pond though.

Re: Epic Quotes

Borders, Borders Express, Waldenbooks, and B&N are big over here and people contend that Chapters and Borders are affiliates (given that, apparently, the stores are practically identical.), though working for Borders, I can say they mostly deny that. *shrugs* We had them on the shelves in my store up until about a month ago (which is when my friend and I wanted to buy them, naturally) so I've been looking at the other bookstores. Might be easiest to order them offline, though.

Re: Epic Quotes

"Shut your fucking face uncle fucker..."

An instant classic...

"It is extremely unlikely that life could spontaneously create itself." --- Stephen Hawking during his new show.

Re: Epic Quotes

"I don't do ups, ups defy Gravity. Gravity is a law, I obey the law."

"[He asked me,] 'How do you feel?' I feel like God is punishing me, and if I'm a better person, he'll send an Angel down with a chicken pot pie and a cupcake!"

"She said to me, 'Put these herbs in your juice three times a day. After a month, your colon will be clean.' I don't know what was in the herbs, but I called her about 45 minutes later from the bathroom. 'Hey crazy lady! I'm sending back the rest of the herbs. Mission accomplished. My colon's clean; I swallowed a quarter when I was seven, fifty dollars came out.'"

"Get out of line, get out of line!"

i find it entertaining that creationists (not directed at her chibyness, for whom i have great respect) will inevitably quote this as proof that god made the universe. they forget that something that is extremely unlikely happening still can and will happen given enough time.

Re: Epic Quotes

What I have contention with is does that mean it'd be acceptable for life to gradually create itself? And how is life defined scientifically, for instance applied to viruses/bacteria. Because if we get into a description of cells, I'd like to know where the exact state of "life" starts. We're all made up of living cells, so, on a technicality, a piece of our skin is still life. I was going somewhere with this, but I'm too sleepy to remember the intricacies of my own argument of life and a certain interpretation of evolution, but I'm sure you all somewhat see what I'm saying.

Plus, aren't there a whole range of theories between fundamental creationism and big bang?

"For the good of your followers, for the good of mankind--for the lulz--we shall expel you from the Internet and systematically dismantle the Church of Scientology in its present form. We acknowledge you as a serious opponent, and we are prepared for a long, long campaign. You will not prevail forever against the angry masses of the body politic. Your methods, hypocrisy, and the artlessness of your organization have sounded its death knell.

You cannot hide; we are everywhere.

We cannot die; we are forever. We're getting bigger every day--and solely by the force of our ideas, malicious and hostile as they often are. If you want another name for your opponent, then call us Legion, for we are many.

Yet for all that we are not as monstrous as you are; still our methods are a parallel to your own. Doubtless you will use the Anon's actions as an example of the persecution you have so long warned your followers would come; this is acceptable. In fact, it is encouraged. We are your SPs.

Gradually as we merge our pulse with that of your "Church", the suppression of your followers will become increasingly difficult to maintain. Believers will wake, and see that salvation has no price. They will know that the stress, the frustration that they feel is not something that may be blamed upon Anonymous. No--they will see that it stems from a source far closer to each. Yes, we are SPs. But the sum of suppression we could ever muster is eclipsed by that of the RTC.

Knowledge is free.

We are Anonymous.

We are Legion.

We do not forgive.

We do not forget.

Expect us."

Re: Epic Quotes

Been watching some M*A*S*H:

"I will not carry a gun.... I'll carry your books, I'll carry a torch, I'll carry a tune, I'll carry on, carry over, carry forward, Cary Grant, cash and carry, carry me back to Old Virginia, I'll even hari-kari if you show me how, but I will not carry a gun!"

"If we don't go crazy once in a while, we'll all go crazy."

- "Hawkeye" Pierce

"Sometimes I think it should be a rule of war that you have to see somebody up close and get to know him before you can shoot him."

- Colonel Potter

Hawkeye: War isn't Hell. War is war, and Hell is Hell. And of the two, war is a lot worse.
Father Mulcahy: How do you figure, Hawkeye?
Hawkeye: Easy, Father. Tell me, who goes to Hell?
Father Mulcahy: Sinners, I believe.
Hawkeye: Exactly. There are no innocent bystanders in Hell. War is chock full of them - little kids, cripples, old ladies. In fact, except for some of the brass, almost everybody involved is an innocent bystander.

Re: Epic Quotes

M*A*S*H f'ing rules. Although my personal favorite quote comes from the movie.

Capt. Peterson: [hostile tone of voice] What are you two HOODLUMS doing in this hospital?
Hawkeye Pierce: Ma'am, we are surgeons and we are here to operate. We just waiting for a starting time. That's all.
Capt. Peterson: You can't even go near a patient until Col. Merrill says its ok and he's still out to lunch.
Trapper John: Look, mother, I want to go to work in one hour. We are the Pros from Dover and we figure to crack this kid's chest and get out to golf course before it gets dark. So you go find the gas-passer and you have him pre-medicate this patient. Then bring me the latest pictures on him. The ones we saw must be 48 hours old by now. Then call the kitchen and have them rustle us up some lunch.
[turns to Hakweye]
Trapper John: Ham and eggs will all right.
[turns back to Capt. Peterson]
Trapper John: Steak would be even better. And then give me at least ONE nurse who knows how to work in close without getting her tits in my way.
Capt. Peterson: [outraged] Oh!
[turns to leave and bumps into Nurse in Japan]
Capt. Peterson: Oh! Fool!
[stomps out of ward]
Nurse in Japan: How do you want your steak cooked?
