What's new

ACT Shota [ExcessM] 廻るハゴコロ / Mawaru Hagokoro (RJ325142)

This new post gives us a rough release date, naming June 2021 as the planned month of release for the game. The post itself mainly talks about the struggle mechanic from the previous game making a comeback. In detail this means you can stop a scene with a button press, or if several attackers are there you can switch between which one does the main attack on you. Honestly given the state of the demo and all the changes that had to be made, June 2021 is earlier than I would have expected.

Yeah that's a pretty ambitious release date.
Considering how the basic gameplay is still very iffy, the animations glitches are pretty darn ugly (seriously, it's jarring how those animation tiles are sliding around) and there's not much being done on the story. Guess the only thing that speaks for the release date is that most oft the characters and animations seem to be done.

And I'm a tad worried that they're just going to ignore the bad animations (like they did with Yumesame) and just release it as is. Which would be a huge shame.
While Yume had some weird ones, none of them went completely into the uncanny valley. While some animations in Hagokoro are deep down there where they cease to be human body parts.

Yeah that's hyperbole.
The only thing I find bad about the animations is just the scaling of object parts. The actual motion and proportions are fine.

The motion is pretty fucked when it causes the different body parts move in such a way that the body ceases to be a connected body.

I haven't seen it.
I'm curious now though. Can you take a screenshot?

Screenshot of a game containing Shotacontent without getting my hand slapped by the moderation team? Well I can try.
Tho it's hard to tell with only screenshots and no animation:
Think it's particularly noticeable with the green-haired girl to the right. Generally the upper and lower body-perspective and how her bottom completely changes shape, since mainly the right cheek slides back and forth.

Are you talking about bone animation? I agree that the skirts don't look good with bone animation, but the way the bodies move, looks fine to me. This is the quality of all of his works.

Any news about this? Or do you think that (Improbable) he won't just talk about anything for some time or until the supposed release date?

his Ci-en updates regularly, with the latest post being today's. It's nothing exciting, talking about text logs and adding tags to the ingame event gallery, but if he were going silent, I imagine he'd post about it first.

He made two posts recently.
One talking about customizing enemy appearances, either letting it switch enemies up randomly or with limitations, specifically mentioning the option to switch certain enemies up after specific parameters, like making all wrestler enemies always having a big body or just black hair for example, nothing too interesting.
The most recent post was talking about the text log function and tags being applied to every lose scene in the gallery so you can find something to your liking if you want to casually watch a defeat scene.

Both only adress very minor topics most people do not really care about, which is probably why no one here talked about the recent posts.

Oh sorry I didn't get the notification for them, my bad.

This is another minor update which describes each enemy having a unique ability except the ashigaru. Kunoichi can summon a double who may also summon a double, wrestler has a defensive stance which must be broken before she takes damage, and oiran will keep charming the player to the point where he cannot damage her and must calm himself.

Has anbody played one of his other games "one syota"? Because I need help on how to make my edited stage lol, i try to follow the steps but the enemies are always the same, also i know it's off-topic, but i don't know where to ask

you need to press a button that confirms your selection

Where would that button be? I'm talking about the furst game i think, the one where you need to modif the game's files to make your custom level, not the one where there's the actual level editor

This took me forever to figure out, so allow me to provide a tutorial:

The key files responsible are all labeled ED01.player (or ED02, ED03, etc.). What you do is, make copies of the enemy files you want to fight against. These are all labeled E1, E2, E3.player. Put the copies in a side folder. It's best to have 6 of them because there are 6 ED0#.player files. There is a guide in the instruction manual folder called (edit guide) or similar that tells you what E#.player file is what enemy. Then, once you have the optimal six, rename them ED01, ED02, whatever. This is why you are making copies. It doesn't matter what enemies are what file. Now leave them in their little side folder for now.

Next, find the files in the base folder that have three japanese characters, and a number in parenthesis. (i.e. ƒmƒ‹ƒ}(50).demo) The number is how many enemies you are going to be fighting. Make a copy of your optimal numner, and put that in the side folder with the enemies you've renamed. Rename that file ED_N.demo.

Next, find the file named ‚–‚“‚Pl.demo. Copy it into the side folder, and rename it ED_O.demo.

Then, pick what background you want. they are labeled (for example) S13.stage. Copy it into the side folder. Rename it EDS1.stage The guide for enemies in the instruction manual folder also tells you what file is what background.

You should have nine files:

ED01.player
ED02.player
ED03.player
ED04.player
ED05.player
ED05.player
ED06.player
ED_N.demo
ED_O.demo
EDS1.stage

...in your side folder. Cut and paste those into the core files of the game itself. If you are uncertain about messing with core files, make a copy of the game to be safe. I have had no problems. Select the option to copy and replace all files.

Hope this helps.

[stuff that would take less room in a spoiler]
Why? The game comes with OneStageEdit.exe, which does exactly what you describe. (see top-right box)
The edit stage is named EDIT, right after stage 7. I do remember the very first version did not have this very useful gimmick.

Oh right, that tool exists.
Was it included in the game though? I remember it was just something you could download from his site at one point.

Either way I uploaded it for your convenience. Just extract it into the main folder of the game and it should work.
I hope the .exe alone is enough for it to function.
