So Chibs doesn't know most of the good female characters out there... wowza. Also, Zelda from the Ocarina of Time version of the series was not captured. She was running around as Shiek (sp?) and helping Link out.

It's unfortunate Chibi that you have yet to see so very many of those great characters I've listed. Kerrigan really comes to mind. A hero, turned villain, who was beating the good guys at the end of the game.

And indeed, thank you Lurker. I have not seen every game, anime or book out there. There are plenty of good female characters that I don't know of.

Shiek Zelda was just about as useless as her normally.


All of those games you listed never interested me anyway. I go for the epic storylines, the fantasy... most of those you listed are the shoot things, kinda games. and I really don't like those.

however there are plenty of female actresses that get my attention. Angelina Jolie for one. She IMMERSES herself in her characters. She literally becomes them, and mentioned in an interview that she has to go home every night and figure out who she is.

EDIT: one from a game i really enjoy is Ashelin Praxis. God bless the jak and daxter series of games. And Tess. Tess makes me happy too.


EDIT again: Let me explain a bit by saying that slash fanfiction that turns cool women into whining conniving bitches irritates me. What makes me happiest is when they stay cool... and are super supportive of their gay best friend. :3

Dragon Age: Origins is an epic storyline, and a fantasy. Mass Effect also had some great female characters (I loved Tali so much), and is an epic storyline as well. But just because you are not interested in those games, doesn't mean you can dismiss pretty much all female video game characters as horrible and annoying when you haven't even glanced at most of them because the game doesn't interest you.

I'm not saying play games that don't interest you either.

Also, Angelina Jolie is okay. I've actually come to quite like Rhona Mitra, even though her first role ever was simply to show boob. Eva Green was great in Kingdom of Heaven. Milla Jovovich in the Messenger. There's plenty of good actresses out there, with plenty of good characters.

And yes Tassadar I liked Miranda Keyes. I though she was a pretty good character. I know most people don't like her.

anyway, Most of the fanfiction I read end up with me liking the female characters... because fanfiction writers tend to write them better than the series xD At least the ones i read, and I'm pretty picky when it comes to characterization.

I always presumed that Shiek was doing non-Link related tasks when she wasn't with Link. She just didn't help link much.

Also, Sinful, you mention an 'Aurora' from dragon age, which character is that? Do you mean the main character, or some non-party character?

Minda from Twilight Princess, Juhani, Mission, (kind of) Bastila from KOTOR, Alyx from Half-Life 2, Movies? Leeloo from Fifth Element; Zoe, Inara, River, (again, kind of) Kaylee from Firefly/Serenity. Books. Lyra from His Dark Materials, both Rolands and Harcourt from the Temeraire series, Door from Neverwhere, Anathema, Agnes, and Pepper from Good Omens. Among countless other that I've missed. My brain isn't working quite right directly after a final exam.

Oh, and Chibi? Mind if I get into an argument with you about Kingdom Hearts? I just did this with a friend offline, so I'm rather focused on that right now.

I said earlier. She's the queen. But I've been spelling her name wrong. It's Anora, not Aurora. Opps.

Samus/ Master Chief pairings. I can see it, if done well. Both are strong soldiers, heroes to the people of their respective universes. Both have gone against the odds and come out victorious.

The only difference is that people know what Samus looks like.

The only problem with that idea is when you start going into the Halo book series. It's rather hard to hide your gender when people are altering your genes and body like that.

It's probably just a different spartan. There were around 80 or so that survived the entire process that turns a normal human into a Spartan-I.

If you take their armor off, they don't plus the person probably used the master chief sprite as the base for the one in the video.
