Eh, it's metal enough for me. I'm from an era when metal meant keeping your massive hair away from the pyrotechnics. Either way, applaud the choice of the song, since, well, that fits well to a horror reveal (even used it as background to one of my posts for another game at one time) but, eh, I shall remain ambivalent and leave it at that.

The actual premier is happening in June, so if they're releasing the next two trailers before that, I'd say expect Black in March or April, with Yellow in May or early June

Also Mirror, Mirror is swiftly turning into my favorite song of recent time.

Also Also. Randomish observation when it comes to RWBY. Lots of people are saying that Belle (or the original character from the written tales) from Beauty and the Beast would probably be the character for Black, however, I just had the random thought of what would happen if they somehow combined the character of Belle and Beast together somehow ',' Would be one heck of a plot twist

Thought they were saying these weren't based on specific faerie tales, despite the whole "Red Riding Hood" of the first one and the clear fantasy bent of Weiss. I could be wrong, but I thought I read that somewhere *shrugs* Still, it looks pretty promising and I love Weiss' sword. And the whole "give me a surface" spell she cast.

I think they're using elements from faerie tales as bases, but they're not going to be the characters from those tales, just characters with similar recognizable features. Of course, this is speculation, but it'd be too much of a coincidence for them to NOT know about the tales and somehow HAPPEN to incorporate similar elements into the characters.

Makes sense. What I find amusing is finding elements of Dead Fantasy in there (like the way the spell was cast, and even the look of it. It harkens back to the haste spell from DF 2, I think it was.) Makes sense, because, well, Monty Oum. Always interested in seeing the different takes that people do on faerie tales, that's for sure.

Monty has said the characters aren't direct representations, but come on. I dare you to say that Ruby looks the way she does only on a whim. And then ya got Wiess's name translation and the lyrics of Mirror Mirror to add to the whole connected. They're not the same characters (naturally) but still, the old tales may lead to some fan guesswork.

Or Monty could be pulling our legs with saying they aren't.

Anyway, personally I say he started improving thanks to working with Roosterteeth during RvB. Sure, Dead Fantasy was ok, but it still was rough around the edges more or less. RWBY doesn't have the same air of non-professionalism Dead Fantasy did, while still having Monty's flair for over-the-top combat. Add in the original designs and I see it doing quite well.

Reminds me a LOT of a more srs Hi Hi Puffy Amiyumi. Not that it's a bad thing, I actually enjoyed it :3 Shame it didn't get greenlit.
