I'd be interested to what you consider 'typical' furry, Squid. Personally, I don't mind it and I find anthropomorphs (yeah, type that one out a few times...oi!) interesting. I think what bugs me (and this bugs me about hentai in general, so it's not just furries) are the disproportioned ones. I mean, yes, I understand the phrase is "hung like a horse" for a reason but I've seen a few male horse anthro's with phlacid pecker's bigger than they are. *shakes head* Don't like it. Course, I can't stand "double-a-watermelon" sized breasts either (though those are mostly on humans) so I guess the distaste is equal in it's hatred.
