ACT [GRIMHELM] Alien Quest: Eve (RJ311440)


Yeah, one good example that I even commented on to the dev on his blog for a previous demo version, is the blind drop to where the double jump is. One side is a spike trap that isn't telegraphed in any way other than you either landing on it or not. There are at least two other spots where blind drops into spikes are a severe problem. There are also spikes where there really shouldn't be any as they serve no purpose in the level design. A few of them I believe are used to artificially make a few jumps harder in order to slide under some geometry and find an item.
 
Nothing on their blog on patreon, and nothing explaining his current status.
He's probably just dead.

He's probably working so hard because he had planned to release the game soon. Or he went on a holiday and doesn't know the status of his Patreon lol

Shit sucks regarding what happened to his Patreon page, but he already froze it so he could work on powering through the summer to a September release before it got put in perpetual guideline review.

I think it's safe to assume the lack of communication comes from him working like a madman on the game so he can make the release date he set. I'm not too worried.
 
I been helped an artist that I happen to be close with his Patreon problem before, in order to have his page unsuspend right out, constant contact directly with support stuff is really are the way to goes.

He been suspended and temporally scheduled to be unsuspend around 1 month after, but with direct contact via e-mails with their ToS stuff and have them constantly review page multiple time, he got his suspension lifted after about 3 days after his page are determined to be safe for public to visit.

In order to have his page unsuspend faster, this seem to be the best option but sadly I cannot understand his moonrune or would I be able to get in contact with him that well. Those that close enough to help him out with international language will need to give him a hard or else the only option left is wait patiently for his update, either it on his blog or alternate news media.

Maybe waiting patiently isn't that bad, some of us been waited an age for a game that shown so much promise but turn out to be utterly disappointment. I believe our community's waiting game are topnotch strong, never the less.
 
He already had previously long times without any comment/updates like his post of last year "I'm not dead". Even if Patreon is blocking/reviewing his page, like he said before he has enough money to finish the game, so he probably rather focus on working on the game that dealing with Patreon policy.

I rather this than a game delay of 1-2 months (due to problems with patreon, taking time to explain them that their policy is bullshit but that yes he would like his page back) or an early release with lot of bugs like some developers are used to.

If there is nothing in october (he is usually late), then we have reason to worry.
 
Kind of annoying that my lurking must come to an end, but what exactly has he done if anyone knows? To my understanding the Patreon had nothing against TOS. However I'm not sure if the rules are different varying on where you're from. Been in love with this game for a while would hate for him to run into something that demotivates him from finishing the game.

In case of Grimhelm, I don't think he's abandoned the project. Especially at this stage of completion. As much as I hate crap like this on Patreon, I for once have a faith in our little dev that he can deliver what he has promised. He has a good record when it comes to his games and at least had some decency to say "Halt" to the money-flow till project is finished (pretty much like Chairi with his Guilty Hell). I'd say, let's give him a chance and stop with that conspiracy-seeking attitude...and let's hope he's not having problems similar to those of Pixel Factory (Parasite in City). My heart isn't ready for such bad news...

I don't even want to think of something like that, that is one of my favorite's and it kills me that there wont be anything continued on it.

Yeah the thing with pixel factory was a sad and bad thing.
Well i guess we just can wait and see what happens
 
Honestly, I know he'll deliver. He has a good record of completed projects. He did stop his patreon so nobody can say he's milking people. The only concern I have is that, I wish he let us know that he's alive or that he's going to meet he's deadline.

Also wonder will he give a free copy of the game to he's patreons?
 
I don't think this developer is great when it comes to communicating. With their last games they practically disappeared from the face of the internet for a while before releasing the game. Not giving much of any sign of life after a few teasers. This also is the first time they have been on Patreon. And considering how long their page has been on review, I'm going to assume that they don't care or know how to deal with Patreon. Other creators that had their pages reviewed got out of that process far quicker.

Still, I haven't lost hope for this game yet. It will probably be finished. Perhaps not by the end of September, like his planning graphic shows, but for sure by the end of the year. After all, delays are pretty much the norm in this area of work, right. It's not like the suspension on Patreon should cause any problems, since their last games did fine without Patreon.
 
What happened to GRIMHELM? The bigger the expectation, the bigger the disappointment.I really don't think GRIMHELM will give up because he is also looking forward to his work.

How long does it take for grimheim's pareon page to be reviewed? I don't want his project to be really dead. His wordpress is also silent.

Just don't be negative. Be neutral. Being silent mean many things, if we already know his usual circumstance that he's not a resident of South Korea than it's fine, so far I heard no news about heavily anti porn media as strict as SKR.

He's kinda guy who stick to his perk, and enjoy them while he lasted. Usually Patreon page reviewing has its base standard as 1 to 3 months, if there're no constant contact between him and staffs, it'll be about that much.

Unless he decide to announce that he quit for good otherwise, you should considering that he keep working silently and ambitiously instead of demoralize himself. I also expect highly that he would post some kind of 'Not dead yet' update someday.
 
Well as long as it doesn't end up as it did with datanony i'll be happy.

He's been MIA for a year+ without word and AoA was legitimately good, just never finished :(

Being silent means being silent, there's no meaning behind it. And you missed the point. It's not about the law being strict but the kind of problems that might arise from anything related to porn. Sometimes it's not the government but the society or family that makes you do something you don't want to do. You'd be surprised how many promising people got screwed by their own blood for petty reasons. That's what I was refering to.

Oh, and BTW - South Korea is not the only country you should be worried about when it comes to porn. Germany and the UK tend to go full-retard from time to time thanks to their own set of laws and pathological level of political correctness. Just recently, the UK even plans to "regulate" content on the internet, starting with porn. Same stuff is planned in many countries in Europe as a backdoor to "socially approved censorship". Even my country (Poland) brings up the topic every two years but the difference here is the social attitude to the problem. Polish people can be screwed over everything all the time - retirement funds, wages, costs of living, taxes etc., but when it comes to the internet freedom, people act like it's the end of the world and it might cause massive backlash to the political parties involved.
