Hey all. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to select different versions of the same characters in Ryonasaga? For instance, Rydia has three different palette sets that you can scroll through on the character info page(third item from the top at the main screen). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Re: Help with Ryonasaga

Those would be three different characters. They just happen to represent the same person. In the party selection menu (First from the top) you should be able to include any or all of them in your party at the same time. A few characters have skills that allow them to swap between one form and another. Serina and Celes are the ones I remember.

May I recommend using an English version?

So, I downloaded the english version in your link. However, when i attempt to run it, my screen flickers a few times and the games screen stays black.

Re: Help with Ryonasaga

Non-unicode language is always the first thing to check.
If you're running Windows 7 or Vista, try the newer versions and toss in the referenced English translation file.

Re: Help with Ryonasaga

hey guys.

Is this that game with the Rebirth ability?

Why yes, yes it is indeed~!

Also from the Eka's forums and helped with the networking for a time between the English and Japanese speaking party's. I haven't been involved with such in about...a years time thought, but if anyone needs any help or assistance just ask. Regardless in our spare time me and a good friend of mine have been working on revised English 'patches' for the newest builds.

Give me a few and I'll make an entire guide getting set up with today's more up to date RyonaSaga.

Re: Help with Ryonasaga

@Bob Grue:

I have not been able to add the costume-changed characters from the select screen, but I am able to swap out the main character for one of their dopplegangers.

@Lipucd:

That would be great! Thanks for continuing to translate this game for everyone to enjoy.

Re: Help with Ryonasaga

...And I just end up taking like a full day to do such~! This is why I kinda stepped down in the first place, I get side tracked far too easily.

This is where to always download the most up to date version outside of using SVN to keep up with updates as they happen.

The uploaded file is the most 'Up to date' of the English translation. If you get any errors when loading your game with this, please let me know so I can take the correct steps to fix such.

Now for the installing process!

-Once you have downloaded and uncompressed the newest RyonaSaga, you need to first make a folder called 'Language'(if not already made), from there put the 'English.txt' into it.

-Next, go into the 'StartData' folder and find 'Option.txt'. Go ALL THE WAY down to the end and add this new line:

language = English

-From there, run the .exe and enjoy. most menu's, all attack skills ( player and monster's ), and a few monster/player names. What isn't translated:

Dungeons:These must be done independently. There's quite allot there as well to be fixed. Most of what's there thought isn't too hard to understand, and I plan on making my own in due time for English speakers using new tilesets.

Events: These include both Arena events, more less 'Monster events', or more exactly, things that are triggered by selective monsters(Erotic Summoner, Presea exphere, and AnotherSuccubus are all examples of this). Again, like Dungeons, need to be done independently. Less to do, but it all breaks doing updates, inclduing if the selective monster received updates itself.

Save/Load text:Yeah, unable to touch that sadly, so you'll just have to get used to knowing what line means "There is a save file here" and "File Saved!".

Beyond such if any of you wishes for help crafting your own user content, more less just basic ideas/pointers/tips and the like, do let me know!

so whats the point of this game?

Re: Help with Ryonasaga

The point of all this is make sure you cook your balsamic vegetables at the right temperature and proper amount of oil.

Craft a team of girls ( up to 15 all together, but only any 5 ever active in a fight ) and then fight your way in Arena challenges and Dungeons for riches and gold~! You'll fight Horny Zombies, tons of tentacle covered beast, and be witness to the act of rebirthing doing your rise towards the top!

...Honestly thought beyond the creative blurb there's only what you make out of it, much like many other 'old' game of yore. Make a team, see how far you can go before everyone's impregnated and then left in Nursery's to forever birth out new monsters to fill the arena's with. Or, once I get to work on my own Dungeons you can play those and try to play out a rather weak storyline of sorts. Nothing written by a collage degree, but something I hope would be enjoyable and enough to make you play them in order ( beyond the level requirements... ).

I'll start looking into this. My personal versions seen a few changes and touch up's here or there, so it might be something not named right and the English.txt is still referring to it's old name, as for the other, is it the violet Q-Bee or the large Queen Bee that's gives that out? If you would be more clear on the matter, I can look into it better.

That sold this game to me. Gonna have to try this out later now.

Re: Help with Ryonasaga

This games not bad. Though I actually prefer it for the nostalgia "Old school RPG" feeling I get, rather than the porn.

It's got that same issue Sex Mugen has. Some of the sprites don't mesh well, so you get a sex attack on a character who's a few feet from their attacker.

There's also a strange bug where sometimes characters will start floating towards the bottom of the screen every time they get hit, and eventually go past it making it hard to see anyway.

Ah. I see the problem with the nursery. The actual enemy data file needs to start with a capital H. Currently it's named "honey_planter_ed.txt" when it needs to be named "Honey_planter_ed.txt". Capitalization errors were very common in older versions.

Regarding the line 80 error, you should be getting a filename along with that. What's the filename?

Sadly this is due to the fact tha it's made by a TON of different people. Not a single 'one' develops everything, and not everyone checks their work :/ Same with 'Sex Mugen'. Honestly one could just call this 'MUGEN: RPG version' as it works the same way just about. It purely exists and is expanded on by user content, and if Oblivion teaches us everything, it's that user content is KING...If not filled with it's up's and downs...

Will need to know more about said bug thought, what party order/set up/formation are you using? What attacks are you being hit by? And are you normlay suffering from status effects? Also: are you fighting the Queen bee doing such? it has a 'pull' effect on the players who are stunned.
