Re: HuniePop

Is the link that was posted earlier the uncensored version or just the one that's on steam?

Re: HuniePop

Any idea how to get them to drink? Beli won't take the wine no matter how many times I try : \
Most of them only drink in the evening/night and only in the right place (e.g. bar)

Is the music in the background of the park zones: I want the world to fap?

Re: HuniePop

You can buy the game on steam and then add the uncensored patch provided by the devs on the steam game forum

hxxp://steamcommunity.com/app/339800/discussions/0/616198900649668367

There are several hidden characters in the game, here is how to get them:

Girl 1: Sleep with about one to three regular girls, she should unlock after this.
Girl 2: Give Girl 1 the Porn Book you have in your inventory, she will give you an item in return. The second girl will appear after a few days when you go to the beach at night
Girl 3: Buy the Gold Fish gift item, then discard it from your inventory. She should appear after this.
Girl 4: romance all regular starting girls who did not require an unlock (+girl 1, I think), after this she should appear (after talking with Girl 1)

To unlock extra costumes for the girl to wear, go on a date with her where she wears that costume, it will become unlocked after you successfully finish the date. To unlock extra hairstyles, buy the girl gifts.

Also if you have trouble with the sex mini-game, the trick is to simply scan for pairs of orbs, and then find the third. While the rows are falling down with new orbs, look for new ones. It requires a bit of luck to complete the mini-game but as long as you do it consistently you should be fine.

edit: corrected the mistakes pointed out below

A small correction "Girl 2" appears after you get that object and go to the beach at night.

Girl 3 will appear no matter where you are after discarding the gold fish bag and trying to go elsewhere.

Re: HuniePop

I enjoyed this game for what it was. It was a bit half baked but was fun enough. The game would have been a lot better without the hellish and pointless "boss fights" and maybe some achievements.

Ironically I find that the easiest. The actual dates get really hard later on. The sex is always just matching stuff as quickly as possible, without having to worry about limited moves or broken hearts.

Re: HuniePop

Decent game, bit grindy but that's okay. Wish there was a bit more interaction with the girls other than questions and mini-games but I guess when the only story being told is "get laid" then there's no point having further interaction.

I will say this though, there's something about English voice acting that adds to the experience. Are there any other Hentai games out there other than the LOQO series that have English voices?

comes to mind, but that's pretty far off...
Basically you pilot a space battleship and your crew are all girls. Turn based combat on a hexfield and visual novel style in between battles. Combat is voiced, but not conversations. It's actually a fun game, great story,etc.. but the hentai is like 6+ hours in (like queen opala i guess).

Also the last third of it is not finished yet. But the game's playable now and also free so it may be worth checking out.

Re: HuniePop

I just read a review for this game on Kotaku. And it was surprisingly positive.

Huh?

You think the mainstream gaming press/audience is starting to give eroge some credit?

Re: HuniePop

I have a LOT to say about this game. Allow me to unlurk for a spell.

First, that whatever flaws in the story is the fault of the director. They had a writer. A very skilled man, named Brad Brown. Brad Brown writes Blaster Nation and The Rock Cocks along with his wife (who draws), Leslie Ortego.

He VOLUNTEERED, For FREE, to write the story.

But then he quit over creative differences. Brad is quite a reasonable man, scroll down under the comic for his commentary:

blasternation.com/index.php?id=326

My theory is threefold.

1:The director wanted the girls to swear or act in ways Brad didn't want to write (though I'm not certain it's only that, more below).
2:Brad expected them to twist the gameplay around the story (one example would be to be able to do more than moving from girl to girl for every moment of the day), making it more "exploration"-based but they didn't want.
3: A mix of the two above.

The writing suffered as a result - no one can deny that. Sad.

It's hilariously bad sometimes. The absurdity made me laugh, at least it lacks Sonic Boom's (the show) sterility. Sonic makes me as emotional as Keanu Reeves, i.e not at all.

There are two gripes I have: The swearing (meeting audrey for the first time) and the fact you pretty much need to tell them whatever they want to hear so they like you, which isn't a behaviour likely to bring happinness in your life anyway (example: uncabob.blogspot.ca/2015/01/how-to-get-laid-lot.html) so that's not very realistic. Finally, when you first meet the girls, they always go on a monologue about whatever they are doing in the place you meet them in - something people very rarely do in real life to strangers they've known for 45 seconds litteraly.

Of course it's a game, it doesn't need to be realistic, but... they took shortcuts. If Brad wrote it, I believe those shortcuts would have been avoided for much better interactions. I'm pretty much certain it's not over the girl's personalities, as they're currently pretty much watered down versions of something Brad would write.

The music is pretty decent, no problem there.

The Bejeweled game itself is neat.

Girl interactions get repetitive, keep asking questions to get the right answers to (relatively) slowly grind Hunie, give them Hunie increasing gifts, go on dates to get Munie, and finally spend Hunie on traits that will improve the points you get from matching the color of tokens that the girl prefers (Red for aiko, orange for Beli, etc...) And figuring out their second or third favorite color.

Failing has no consequences, only puts things back to later.

I'm sad there are no nude outfits, the drawings themselves don't get me off.

Overall decent, but a letdown. They should have been more reasonable and let Brad handle the writing, and arranged the game around it, reasonably. The director shot himself in the foot.

So there's no ending? No conclusion? Just continues to drone on forever without any resolution? Jesus.

Welp, you'd be surprised how often this happens in game development; I worked on a few AAA titles (can't say what ones though) and the stuff that management tried to push through to get in the game that everyone in lower tier jobs knew was absolute suicide for the game is just mindboggling.

If you've ever wondered why a game had horrible bugs, or had horrible storyline, or had horrible whatever, 9 times out of 10 it's upper management screwing the whole thing up due to having zero understanding of how the game industry and games themselves work, and almost never the actual fault of the programmers/writers/testers/whatever else.

Re: HuniePop

I'm pretty sure people are missing the bit part of HuniePop.

That is to say, it's basically a homage to the old fashion dating sims of old. The characters are meant to act like stereotypical archetypes, and the goal is to just bang them all, as it were.

It's not really a "romance" game or something. There's not some deep plot, or involved characters. It's just a homage to the dating sim genre.

Not that I think this detracts from the game at all though. It really brings back the memories of the day when we all thought SimGirl or something was the greatest hentai ever - and those characters are all pretty flat, or have pretty silly "depth".
