In today's news...

Re: In today's news...

...you have GOT to be fucking kidding me. Out of all the problems WoW has, from gold sellers (people who sell in-game money for real money, usually sweatshop workers) to bot runners (people letting an automated program play for them to lessen work) to spammers (yeah) to multiboxers (people playing more than one character at once to lessen workloads or grief on others), their top concern is cyber-fucking?

Next thing you know, someone will say that WoW is a game for kids, and then I'll have to show them the Karazahn Crypts...

(Yes, I realize that I just ratted myself as a WoW nerd: I'm on extended hiatus until the next expansion is out, 'Cataclysm', and I play on private servers because I'm a cheapskate. Sue me.)

I'M NO SHIT-THROWING MONKEY GO FUCK YOURSELVES. ):<

Yer sure? Well, if yer sure I'll defend that statement... but be sure.

. Just..... just, wow.

So yeah... once again the higher ups proove to me that they consider sex to equal one of the worst sins ever committed by man. Fuck, it's not even full on porn. I mean, I suppose it is only a T rated game, but if they could make an adult server or something... how hard could it be?

Re: In today's news...

Ah, but if they make an adult server, they'll need some kind of verification to ensure only adults can access it.

But how could we do that? Oh, under 18s can't get credits cards, right? Yeah, so let's just charge them, say, $20 US that is only accepted via credit card payment.

(I've actually seen another place that does this. It actually supports adult things a lot more, actually having erotic body parts (yeah, you gotta buy yourself a penis) in the shop. Of course, this costs more, beyond the initial $20...)

This is why Darknest Forums and their patch-items exist. Altering armor to make it sexier, nude patches, body modifiers (adding dicks mostly, though some reshape breasts or such), and many other things (one of my personal favorites turns Forsaken into Undead Blood Elves with rather shapely, non-rotty bodies).

Best of all, all of that stuff is free from Darknest and it works on whatever server.

Wow... someone went through a fair amount of work to make the game sexier.

Funny that this is brought up. As of a year or so ago, you had to use a third party program in order to get a few of the *cough*mods to stick. They removed that requirement actually making it easier for the modders to slide in all their naughty bits and the like.

However if one is ERPing on a public channel or in local..then yes they are breaking the EULA and subject to punishment. Group chat and direct tells are more for that sorta thing.

One private roleplay server, Echeloned WoW, had a different fix for it: all players could create custom phases of the game and use those for whatever - building, roleplaying, ERPing, etc. You just couldn't advertise ERP in main channels.

Dodge Complies With PETA By Replacing Ape With Invisible Ape

Re: In today's news...

Ha. That was freaking awesome!

Re: In today's news...

Huh. Never knew some of the things I read in the comments about PETA. Guess I'm glad my family has apparently been a long-time supporter of ASPCA.

PETA is just fucked up. end of story. Like how their leader wants to be cooked and served to a bunch of people. It's in her will.

Re: In today's news...

Oh, I knew PETA was crazy, I just didn't know they were Westboro Baptist level of crazy. I mean, before reading those comments, I just figured they were some radical group of vegetarians that meant well for the animals' sake. But to put down nearly 3000 animals in one year while only managing to send 8 out to a good home? No, that's just not right.

Do you hear me, PETA? (he asks, knowing they don't care.)

THAT. IS. NOT. RIGHT.

Re: In today's news...

And to demonstrate how wrong the portrayal of animals are in commercials, while protesting dodge, they ritually sacrificed 5 monkeys and an ape after they ran out of monkeys.

Re: In today's news...

PETA is a good example of what happens when a bunch of crazy people get together and start feeding off each others crazy. Without anybody to serve as a moderating influence, they all go down a terrifying rabbit hole together. My favorite crazy idea of theirs is still them trying to convince Ben & Jerry's that switching to human breast milk in their ice cream was a good idea for their company.

Re: In today's news...

At least most of the world understands now, and PETA's at that south park point of "Oh wait the KKK's on our side?"

They might be at that point, but I doubt they'll ever truly realize that they are.
