In today's news...

Re: In today's news...

Governator Arnold should be the first man on Mars. Just sayin'.

At least, I'm pretty sure we haven't put a human on Mars yet.

Considering it took an entire year to get that probe to Mars for this landing, I don't think we'll be seeing a Mars landing until we got a REALLY good new lander. As it stands now, the same tech we got on the moon with won't work here.

It's like Kerbal Space Program, with less fails and more moniez

They've already been sending pictures back, too...

Re: In today's news...

Though it is a slightly old newswise (over the weekend)

We are experiencing a burn ban in the area where I live due to the high heat. During this latest week, a man in a black truck ignited newspapers before tossing them from his vehicle starting a large blaze that burned 4 square miles taking lives, homes, and various property. Someone I work with had their house destroyed in the wildfire losing everything along with her two dogs. If possible, keep them in your thoughts, prayers, or whatever you wish to go by.

Re: In today's news...

Australia has some pretty bad fires (going on 8000 square miles, thats all of conneticut and delaware), so Nunu understands

Re: In today's news...

Sorry to hear that, Kiwi. And yeah, haven't had to deal with fires up close and personal in my area (that whole living right next to a lake thing sort of helps with that some...) but still never good when bad things come of it. Best of luck to your co-worker.

Re: In today's news...

There is a Dutch aerospace firm with plans to have colonists on Mars by 2023. The catch?

Re: In today's news...

That sound you just heard was my faith in humanity failing.

You still have some? I lost the remainder of mine today when a friend pointed out to me that kawaii is in the Oxford English dictionary.

Re: In today's news...

This feels... shortsighted. Don't most nature lovers want to segregate GE from nature?

I would totally have bought a stingray with hot rod flames for skin.

Re: In today's news...

And now they will breed with the population fucking everything to hell. >.< UGH.

Re: In today's news...

Maybe it's a spy to give real Animal Right Activists a bad name.

Either that or someone dented their head.

Re: In today's news...

I laughed at the article, but I'm wondering if it was based off something actually said. Which makes me shake my head.

Wow... just wow. No offense to my many American friends, but something really has to be done about yer big mouthed politicians.

Beyond put them back on a leash, I can't think of anything that CAN be done with the current system...

Re: In today's news...

This is exactly why we should have let the south secede.

There's claiming God is why everything happens, and then there's batshit insanity. This gal's gone all the way over the cliff screaming into the Inferno of insanity here.

It's people like this that give religion a bad name.

Re: In today's news...

Well... See this is mainly what I think is wrong with the US. Sure many of the citizens are incredibly moronic. (No offense, but the whole evolution vs. creationism in science class, global warming isn't real, and electing G. W. Bush for a second term sortof drags you down.) Looking at things like how congressional seats are divided, you see that there is actually a special caste in the american sosciety for the politicians.

*Puts on flame suit and stocks up on icecubes.*

Also, in a twist on a popular defence: I swear, some of the smartest people I know are from the states!
