What's new

騎士 means Knight.
Latina is her name & we already have an anime in 2019 based on a novel with someone named Latina.

Well, that explains why my dictionary doesn't have it, its not a word used in modern work environments.
I guess I made right call on the name.

Happy new year everyone, now some question, i am not asking for links or anything just info. All previous game from 2019 to 2018 are translate on english? I alredy gotten in jap but i want to replay a few of them but i cant read japanese and is fun to play this games when you can actually understand what is going on, like in his previous games from 2017 and below. Thanks.

well, thats unexpected. New Blog Post.

Talking about the new clothing destruction system JSK is implementing. Pic of her without the shield.

Anyone able to make out the names of the breakable parts? Could only make guesses on some. Unsure if the leotard will break as a whole has a top & bottom.
Also, wondering how will the shoulder armor & gorget strip since it's not connected to the leotard.

Shield
Top Armor
Bottom Armor
? ( - 着) Underwear?
?
Gauntlets (籠手)
Greaves (?)
Almost certain the ?着 is 肌着. I can't be 100% since it is cropped, but that makes sense, and if you zoom in and sharpen the image, you can see the second half of 肌.

They aren't.
You can help with the translations if you have the time by visiting the translation thread and asking how you can be of help.

I think only like... 2 people are even working on translations right now, and they barely have the time. I mean it makes sense and I'm not dogging anyone about it, but the translation community has severely dwindled.

No, you're definitely right. Item of clothing had to refer to innerwear, and 肌着 is the catch-all term that covers top to bottom.

Oh, I do have the time, its just that the ball and chain doesn't exactly agree on how I'd like to spend it, damn these social restrictions at times. 😂
The next time I can spare some of the excess, is around mid February, the spring-summer is a no go, since I am constantly moving around due to work, and autumn-fall is generally open unless factory blows up or nature fucks things over.

Also, woof. I am a dog now.🐶

For now the translation thread gets uptaded once or twice per month (if we are lucky), and I mean real updates, not someone asking when will or how is it going (like me once or twice), seems like translating moonrunes to occidental for free is not atractive enough for many people, I guess it's my fault because I got bored of normie porn at my 18 years (is this how an addict feels when given deluted drugs?)
Should we start a Patreon, or something? Some people think and work better with a full pocket

I think you'd technically be making money off of someone else's work at that point.
If you're going to go that far, I recommend asking JSK himself if you can make officially sanctioned translations. By that point though, you'll take a step into the deep end, and actually HAVE to translate these games 100%. Not sure if anyone wants that kind of pressure or responsibility.

I do it for fun, had a blast on december translating lewd scenes and endings of majokko sharry, le dernier chevalier and making the partial to the newest JSK release. 🤔

As far as I know, JSK has been unresponsive towards anyone willing to make official full translations in english, people have done and asked about it from the blog few times over the years.

Maybe another attempt is in order? His release schedule has increased so I'm sure he interacts with his fans more often.

Maybe they don't care, and the patreon part was because some modders use it for receiving a compensation and then releasing a mod for the game they are making it, the guys in Honey Select do that, so it's more like an incentive or donations instead of a pay for a work (I guess that was the reason it was created in first place), almost everyone here is grateful for the effort so far and is even more than we deserve, but I'm sure there are more people that can help directly, they just need the right incentive (I just want my fix bro)

What do you think got me started on this partial stuff to begin with? 😂

No fix for it, had to start making my own.
Yes, and some people blow their garage with themselves in for a bit of meth, thats why I'm trying to bring ideas for an incentive (I'm currently learning java, my laptop crashed 2 times this week and I hate myself)

If you think that is bad, you've never tasted how my food tastes, its a running gag among those that know me personally, 'Ice's cooking', weapon of mass destruction and crime against humanity. 😂

It's a bit more involved than finding a good incentive. It's also about fostering and maintaining motivation. These translation projects can drag on for quite awhile. Fatigue and burn out are a very real concern.

I've found that working on a team of translators and proofreaders really put the collaboration aspect front and center. Finding a good work flow for myself was not enough. You also have to remove as many barriers to entry for new volunteers. Such as reducing as much complexity as possible and simplifying on the technical front. Then you have the on-boarding process to get people up to speed without overwhelming, intimidating, or just plain making the learning process anything less than enjoyable for them. There is a ton of things to consider when trying to foster a successful team translation effort. Especially when you take into account that many people interested in translating are not native English speakers, and are in time zones all over the world.

All this being said, I think it is still a very doable and worthwhile endeavor. Tengux and I are in the process of making a GUI software tool that will significantly revamp the translation process of JSK games. I say we but Tengux is the one programming the thing. I'm just giving pointers from my experience dissecting and proofreading these games. I think that once our new translation tool is out of BETA, we'll be able to achieve much more with much less technical slow downs and frustrations. Collaboration will be much easier since the extracted texts are in CSV files. These will be shared on Google Sheets so everyone can be working on the same version simultaneously. No more having to merge different translators and proofreaders work files periodically. All duplicate lines are marked as such, and only the lines not marked as duplicates need to be translated. A simple Google Sheet filter view can be used to hide duplicate entries. This makes navigating the sheet much quicker for first pass drafts. The GUI parser will then repopulate the duplicate lines from translated ones. There are a few more things we are discussing that could be added to the GUI Tool, but they are still in the planning phase.

There is always hope so long as the torch stays lit.

As a little teaser of the new software tool, I just finished doing a quick spellcheck pass on Icevail's v1.2 (uncen) translation of Cheeky Devil. I'm uploading it to the JSK Repository now.

I bet you had fun going through all my drowsy typo lines, I sure hell as had a barrel of laughter when those popped up in the game prior to handing over the 1.2 🤣

It was pretty funny for sure. A few times I though you were trying to make Nano sound like she was a sloppy drunk.
