What's new

Hope there wouldn't be an ending with that. And wonder will it be a big boob loli...
Hope not.
Well... you can usually move positions between endings so I don't think it's likely, but the last game had a futa ending so previous games aren't the best measure of his plans.

His demon lord games are usually the ones where he does the base for the sex positions that he can reuse for future games since they have the most sex positions. This is his second game in Unity and it being a return to form narratively kind of shows to me his desire to focus on the core of the game systems programmatically, and artistically. He doesn't want to worry about design and story.

Quite curious if the background's going to be so brightly lit in the final version though.

At least this is a sign that JSK is trying to innovate instead of sticking to the sleep/time stop scenes.
Last game was a 2v1 and had futa so yeah, ever since the move to Unity, he's been thinking about what he can do.

Hope the move to Unity means more thinking outside the box in general. We already know the AP Meter's gonna look different for the demon king remake.
Pretty hyped for the next non-combat game now because of what he might do. We might even get the chance to interact with the background elements?

From the comment section the subject of physical age regression as a power seems to be implied. Like how Alipheese was sealed in a small form for most of MGQ chapter 3 and all of the current Paradox. A single "Dubious" option he says. Sounds like it's completely optional.

Sounds like it's completely optional.
All the sexual content in his game has always been optional. One of the reasons I like him.

Personally don't mind young bodies as long as the personality isn't that of a 10 year old. If the age regression scene is a rape scene where the power dynamic is, "Hahaha, I turned you into a kid to seal your power and now I'm gonna rape you." It's just another scene to avoid is all.

Personally so long as her personality remains adult-like I'm cool with it. Alipheese maintained her sense of self, Gate had Ruri, Senko has quite a following; it's all in how the heroine carries herself imo.

white fox from Tokyo Ravens.
Yeah White Foxes are always great designs.

Speaking of which it'd be nice to see some more monster girls from JSK.
He's done a Vampire, 3 Demons, and an Elf.

It'd be nice to see a foxgirl or something like that.
Even if he stays with demon girls his designs lean more on the demure side of things.

I wanna see unique colored Schlera like Astaroth from Shinrabanshou. Maybe wings?

You know what would be interesting as an enemy design?
An Angel.

Or you know what. He likes his modern themes, and he's already done 2 "supernatural hunter" style games with the archer, and the swordswoman miyui.
Another "possession" heroine with a stronger physical change when the girl gets possessed would be fun.

Magicial girl is a 'possessed' too.

JSK mentioned in comment that drawing a Kimono is out of his limits so.. Miko designs might be a no go.

Still kinda want a classic seducing witch or kunoichi.

This isn't made by JSK, but I feel like the Belgerum (publishing at itch.io) makes very similar games to JSK, so I figured I'd post this here:

Hello everyone.
Now that I've beaten the treacherous Ori and the Blind Forest and learning it was made with Unity, I have to ask: do you think JSK games will be that gorgeous at some point?

PS. About the achievement for beating the game without dieing a single time, I've no doubt whatsoever that it's absolutely impossible to do it in a fair and square manner.

Ori and the Blind Forest is an interesting game.

That (beware the video's long) are done in a pretty interesting way.
To summarize, the animator did 3D modeling and animation in another program, then exported those models as frame-by-frame image data which the programmer then placed on top of the map.
It's 3D but not really 3D.
The lighting is all done in post 2D which is the big shock. Honestly, this part could be an entire video most likely because of how insane the thought is. The shader programmers were monsters.

This makes the filesize for the game huge! Since frame-by-frame data is much bigger in filesize than pure animation data.

____

Will JSK ever be that quality?
To be honest? No.

He's moved to Unity but he's just super comfortable with Vector animation and doesn't have any strong desire to change. The animation pipeline of flash and bone animation isn't THAT different which is why he can get the same feel in animation in Unity as he has had in flash. It's that familiarity which drew him to Unity in the first place.

As long as he's comfortable where he's at, there's no reason he'll change what he does artistically. JSK's pretty big on 2D animation too, so him moving to a 3D animation pipeline is too much of an ask. Not to mention shader programming is literally an art in and of itself which is too much to ask of a single person.

No...

Don't expect anything like that. It would be a miracle if he even added more rasterization elements in his games like gradients since it seems like he's still drawing in flash, and exporting the flash animations for use in Unity.

Too used to the artstyle.

I prefer 2D art. Most are likely to have same face / body outline syndrome. So it's down to their design and which genre / fetish they tick.
Disappointing there is probably no other creators creating this kind of 2D Battle games. Or perhaps there used to be several but has moved on.

Oh yea, Belgerum, I liked some of their early stuff, especially their plots and dialogue. The combat was really frustrating though, it felt like it was mostly RNG. :(
