I find that sometimes it also depends on the origin of the files, for example if the zipped files came from a computer without Japanese locale, then the original files (not from the game developer, but from the person who zipped it for you) would have already lost the Japanese characters.
But I've only come across this like 1 out of 10 times, and when that happens I am sure people on forums would have the filemaps for it already.

Most of the changes are in the first town. I didn't playtest it too much, so there probably is some stuff that just sounds stupid. I'm not that good at Japanese either and English isn't my first language. You can send me a pm if you have any suggestions or improvements.

Anybody else dissapointed that the redhead with the hairband didn't get any H-scene? (I'm color blind so her hair might be brown but it don't matter). The sick bastard in me wanted to see the perverted old dad have his way with her. The even sicker bastard in me wanted it be NTR. Okay I should probably stop.

Speaking of NTR, anyone think the story involving the thief have some hints of NTR? I mean she never truly betrays him but I certainly felt some rage-turn-on. Those two have some great NTR potential.

There are people here who would translate the game to English for example in exchange for something (or maybe even nothing), so the author could sell the game in English and get more money. A lot of people here and in other places would buy the game since they're usually not expansive and worthy the money. And so everone would be more happy.
