Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Giselle was intrigued to say the least, and idly thought to herself that maybe she ought to invest in getting some gauntlets like those, just in case. Maybe Kylie wouldn't mind if Giselle borrowed hers even, if it meant saving her. She also wondered just how much stuff Diana had on hers compared to Kylie's. Giselle followed Diana along through the streets after they got back down from the tower, keeping her hood up and her hand near her naginata just in case.

"Bout how long will it take us to get there, Diana?" Giselle asked softly.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

From here? On foot? About an hour if we went straight there. Closer to two since we CAN'T go straight there without being eaten by ghouls. she answered, leading Giselle through the empty streets.

It became Obvious to Giselle however when they entered the lost Districts, and what she hadn't really seen from so far above was the state of disrepair many of the buildings were in. It was plain to see that no one had been here in awhile, and Giselle could feel a negative energy here pulling and tugging at everything that entered. She could also feel one of Kylie's shards about, darting around nearby. The Hungry One.

What had Gale called her... Hecate? She was close and moving around... above them? It would be like Kylie to use the rooftops, but at the moment she was getting the feeling that hecate was above them and dropping periodically, likely to snatch and eat something, because that was definitely the feeling Giselle was getting, of hunger being sated slightly.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

"M'kay, I'll follow you then, lead on," Giselle replied, doing just that and keeping close.

As they got to the lost/undead districts, Giselle saw just how bad off the place really was, and she couldn't help but feel that it was just too dreary and rundown to really be considered beautiful anymore really. However, Giselle did feel one of Kylie's shards nearby, or at least within this district area if it wasn't actually nearby. Then she felt... Hecate, if she recalled her name correctly, and that hunger that was hers. She knew that this was a chance to get one of the more dangerous Kylie's, and she knew that they had to draw Hecate out.

"We're being stalked, so be careful and stay close okay. It's Hecate... I can feel it. She can and will eat you if you're not careful. I think I can handle her though, so if you see her, let me step in," Giselle said quietly to Diana.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Hecate didn't stay hiding for long, Giselle could feel her getting closer to the pair steadily, carefully. What she saw was not what she had expected. Hecate did come to see her, slinking out of an alley and sniffing at Diana. Diana noticed Something, but didn't react, instead she froze, looking at Giselle as if asking permission to stab whatever the fuck was sniffing her. Giselle KNEW it was a shard, her ring was Screaming at her.

Hecate turned out to be inhuman. Almost 8 feet tall with a black, shining body, most of it is carapace, polished and gleaming. She doesn't seem to be threatening, continuing to glance between Diana and Giselle. her eyes are solid green, save for a catlike slit that runs the entire length of the eye, and the expression is soft. With hands tipped in claws, and a tail that reminded Giselle of the Tyr fish, long and scythed with an obvious blade, her body while vaguely humanoid is so alien to Giselle that the Siren honestly has to take a moment to process this. While it was true that Kylie's ability to draw in energy was rare to the point of being unheard of, seeing it given life along with a few choice emotions was shocking. her face had an elongated muzzle and she opened it for a moment showing teeth that were backwards hooked and razor sharp, her hands, while clawed, seemed to have soft palms, marked with whorls in black and her entire body seemed to smoke and drift like her form was actually more malleable then it seemed. She would have no issues hiding her presence if she chose, and she stood there, breathing in Diana's scent while regarding Giselle, torn between hunger, fear, and confusion all in equal measure. Fear at what Giselle would think of her, hunger for the soft thing between them, and confusion because she was alone, there was nowhere for what she harvested to go but whatever energy she had drawn in was telling her to eat, destroy, breed, and overrun. This shard was capable of breeding...

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Giselle stopped when Hecate slunk out of the shadows of a nearby alleyway towards them. She reached over to gently put her hand on Diana's to stay it, before she stepped forward a couple of steps, feeling that this was indeed Hecate, and that she wasn't showing any threatening aura yet. It took Giselle a few moments of looking Hecate up and down to really, get what she looked like. Giselle could tell that Hecate seemed tense, and worried, about what she would think of her.

Probably very shocking Hecate, Giselle smiled at her lovingly, just as she had done to Kylie so many times since they met and got together. "Hecate... you know who I am. And I know who you are, because I can feel it," Giselle said as she held her left hand, with the ring, up to show the strange alien like woman before her. "You don't have to be alone... I'm here now," she went on to say, still smiling, that she'd found another piece of Kylie, a few tears of happiness rolling down her cheeks as she slowly walked forward.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Diana meanwhile was tugging on Giselle's shirt gently while Hecate pushed her head forward into her hand and nuzzled her, a deep rumbling sounding in Hecate's body as her eyes lidded slightly, two sets blinking slowly, one set completely clear before a voice cut through the moment and Hecate snarled, pulling back and thrashing around in the alley dangerously.

Is it normal for such a creature to go about? the male voice asked of Giselle, Diana tensed and reaching for something. Turning, she'd see a man in his 40's, his face heavily scarred on one side, and bald beneath a wide hood and crimson robe, his hand already raised to unleash a bolt of energy at Hecate who simply opened her jaws and snapped it up, the man a little taken aback. But another gesture and Hecate instantly became enraged. The emotions were tangled, lost, confused. No peace to be found and Hecate incredibly hungry and angry now a danger to everyone present, Giselle included as she lowered her body and roared with enough force to deafen the pair while the man laughed as Diana hurled a dart at him and dropped away, cackling madly as he retreated. I'll take them ALL from you Siren! Such Beautiful Weapons! Aaaahahahahaha! he cried, Diana about to give chase before she had to dodge Hecate's bladed tail as it sickled through the air and she roared again. She was going to eat them both if they didnt manage to get away from her.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

"It's okay Diana. This is a part of Kylie, and she's strong, but she recognizes me, and I recognize her. I love Kylie, all of her parts, in equal measure. This is no different," Giselle said to Diana and smiled up at Hecate as she nuzzled against her hand.

When she heard the man's voice she turned and narrowed her eyes at him. "She wouldn't be in this state if we had just been left alone," Giselle spat back at the man before Hecate flew into a rage.

"Diana, go, find that bastard if you can, I'll deal with Hecate," Giselle muttered quickly to Diana and waved at Hecate to keep her attention on her.

Seeing Hecate in her rage, Giselle knew that she had to run, and so she did, but she also knew that she couldn't lead Hecate back into the city proper where people were. She knew that Hecate didn't mean to be like this, but that she simply couldn't help it. "Hecate, love... no, calm down. Please! You know me, it's me... your Giselle. I love you," Giselle called to Hecate as she ran, leading her down narrow alleys to force the larger woman to have to take more time thanks to her size.

Giselle hoped that Diana would have gotten away and went after the man that had thrown Hecate into her rage. Once she was sure that she had gotten Hecate slowed down some in the more narrow alleys, Giselle glanced back at her, and smiled again, before she started to sing. Giselle sung her song of calming, the one that she had done for Kylie a few times back home in Feynrial to soothe and relax her. She didn't want to hurt Hecate, for she'd been hurt enough already, so she did the only thing that she could think of and kept singing, slowing down her running if it seemed Hecate was slowing and calming down again.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

As Diana took off, Hecate almost followed her, before tearing after Giselle, following her through the alleys, and it was lucky Giselle had chosen narrow ones because Hecate, Was, Fast. Her long legs took enormous strides and as soon as she couldn't enter an area, they would launch her halfway up a building and then follow her from above.

Twice Giselle nearly got killed, once by ghouls as she rounded a corner, Hecate's pounce missing her by inches by causing the beast to slam into the new enemies. This bought Giselle time as Hecate began to eat, savagely tearing at the undead flesh while her hands forcibly drew whatever magics animated them out of their bodies and into her own as fuel. But it was her singing which had the strangest effect.

Rather then calming her, it instead drew her undivided attention, and her body shifted to something far more resembling Kylie, though she was entirely made of shadows, and her right arm was that massive, scythe bladed tail, whipping around violently as green eyes shone out at her.

The problem was immediately apparent. Whatever the mage had done to her, it hadn't faded, and now Giselle was pouring magic into the air with her song, acting like the worlds best bait. While it may have calmed any other shard, this one it only served as an appetizer while Hecate had to ride out her incredibly angry and distressed state caused by the newcomer.

But she was much faster now that she could follow Giselle through the alleys, but worse, she was herding her, blocking certain pathways, while chasing her down others, large slashing blows telling Giselle clearly that she had no choice, until the chase abruptly stopped.

She could feel Hecate circling her, something in the area had warded her off. And then Giselle saw where the chase had ended. Just passed an alley in front of a house. *NO! WONT GO! WONT GO IN! NEVER GO IN!* Hecate voice screamed into her mind, thrashing around violently, she was currently unable to enter the house for any reason, something was barring her, either something in Hecate's mind, or something deeper within, likely the former if the ring was any indicator, this place upset her deeply, even more so then her neverending hunger, or whatever she had eaten from the man in red.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Noticing that Hecate came after her instead made Giselle feel a little more at ease, and that she was actually doing something good here, as it bought Diana time to run, instead of trying to kill Hecate, which they couldn't have. Rounding a corner after going down an alley or two, Giselle nearly ran into ghouls, and gasped as Hecate jumped and landed nearby, nearly knocking her down.

"Oh shit Giselle, now you've really pissed her off," Giselle thought to herself when she saw the effects of her singing.

Giselle didn't stop singing though just yet, and kept going, as she was pretty sure it would make certain to keep Giselle's undivided attention on her. Giselle ran... as fast as her legs would carry her, and soon enough, with Hecate's blade whipping at her the entire way. Finally, after what felt like an hour or so of running, Giselle burst through the front door to an abandoned house, and tripped up a bit as she slammed through, and she felt Hecate's presence all around her as she circled, like a stalker circling its prey almost, it felt like.

Hearing Hecate crying out through her mind, Giselle actually let out a little sob, feeling her lover's pain, and wanting to end it somehow, if Hecate would only let her. "Hecate... what's the matter? Please, just calm down... I beg you," Giselle called back to Hecate, trying to reach out mentally to gently hug Hecate's mind in a sense, to try and calm that rage within her. "Don't let them control you my love, please. You're stronger than this, just... calm down," she then said from the doorway of the house, with tears in her eyes as she tried her best to calm her beloved Kylie down.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

*NO ONES HOME. MOMMY GONE. DADDY GONE. REGI GONE. WONT GO INSIDE* she answered, while Giselle tried to get through to her, Hecate visible at the other end of an alley, clutching her head and shaking it, before dashing away. She was still nearby, she wouldn't just leave Giselle, but she would not come near this house.

mommy's gone, daddy's gone... Giselle remembered the drawing Kylie had made to explain what she couldn't put into words, the child staring at the murder of her parents while the sound of the undead moving closer caused her to close the door before she was discovered by them. They would have no such issues.

She was on the first floor of a nice townhouse, if it had been upkept, but it hadn't so the hardwood was covered in dust, coral inlay set in the floor barely visible while an old painting of a family had fallen to the floor, it's frame broken, the canvas slashed.

Obvious holes had been smashed in the wall to her right by something powerful and several spots along the floor and ceiling showed unnatural rot and decay. Looking at the painting, Giselle would see a man, a woman, and two children, a little boy, maybe 7 or 8, and a little girl no older then 3 toddling near her daddy with a teddy bear. The woman was smiling, holding the boys hand and the man was sitting in a chair smiling at the toddler. The woman looked frighteningly like Kylie, but this painting was old...

She'd found Kylie's home.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Hearing Hecate talking like that, before running off, though staying nearby, made Giselle suspect what this house was. Quickly and quietly shutting the door, Giselle moved deeper into the house to hunker down for now, as she thought about the things that Hecate had said. Looking around at the house, she spotted the painting that was knocked over, and she knelt by the thing and pulled it up, and when she looked at it for a few moments, Giselle teared up as she realized completely now where this place was.

"Kylie... your mother was beautiful, and you were so cute when you were little," Giselle whispered softly to herself as she knelt there with the painting in her hands, and if she could, she'd remove it from the rest of the frame, roll it up, and take it with her.

After she did that, Giselle looked around the house, creeping softly and slowly so as not to let the undead outside know she was there, and of course, keeping her senses reached out to feel for Hecate to see where she went.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Moving further into the house to look around, she entered the sitting room at the end of the hall, several doors reaching out to the rest, to see blood stains all over what used to be white carpet, but it was now brown with age. A skeleton, it's ribs all smashed was at the far side of the room, like it had been throne, the other slumped almost peacefully, not an apparent wound on it. Kylie had said Atropals. Atropals Killed their targets by rotting them from the inside out, and judging from the incredible decay the wall and floor showed around the skeleton.... it was likely. If she tried to move to the skeleton she'd likely fall through the floor.

A stuffed bear lay on the floor near the entrance, next to a flight of stairs, where Kylie had drawn herself, and further upstairs, she'd find 3 bedrooms. Kylie's was the easiest to find, at the very end of the hall, full of stuffed toys, quills, a drawing table for a child, paints. A little bed near the window

Reginald's had to be the one next to it. Inside it was all very... spartan, wood bed, white sheets, single pillow. But the walls were covered in drawings and paintings of knights, with adorable hand drawn words along the bottom. While the drawings themselves were good, especially for a small child, the words were not. "Four ReGi fron KylIE along the bottom of each, and a small chest held several toys, wooden swords and shields. Odd for the boy who dreamed of being a knight to become an assassin in the end. Turned out his room was spartan, he was just a tidy kid.

The last was their parents room, and the door was tightly locked by a sigil burned into the wood. She'd need more then force to get inside. She'd recognize it from Delilah's own work. That door and wall may as well have been made of adamantine.

Checking on Hecate, she was still wandering around, prowling outside the house, and... if she focused reallly hard, she could hear her. Sniffing, shuffling, whimpering? Was that what the sound was? She suddenly heard a new one, a deep throaty clicking and a growl as Hecate picked up on something and her thoughts turned away from the house, to Inspect the new things. Giselle had time and Kylie's room drew her back in, to inspect the drawings and toys of her lover before her life had been turned upside down.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Giselle, spotting the skeletons, didn't move closer to them, at least not enough to risk falling through the floor. She knelt as close as she could though, and said a little prayer to Sehanine and Melora both, feeling it was the right thing to do. Looking down at the stuffed bear on the floor at the foot of the steps, Giselle knelt and picked it up after dusting it off, deciding to take it with her, as she slipped it into one of her bags attached to her belt.

When she went on up and found Kylie's room, fresh tears began streaming down Giselle's cheeks, and she idly wondered what may have been, had the Atropal not done all this to Kylie and her family. She looked around the other rooms upstairs, looking in on what had to have been Reggie's room, until she was met with a quite well protected and locked door that could only be their parents room. She wanted to see inside, but didn't risk trying to force the thing just yet.

"Where are you now honey?" Giselle whispered softly as she reached out for Hecate again, finding her nearby still, but starting to move away to inspect something that drew her attention away from Giselle for now.

With that, Giselle felt almost tugged back to Kylie's bedroom, and she decided to go inside again and inspect it some more, looking at her toys and any drawings that were still there, as well as her stuffed animals.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Back inside Kylie's room, it seemed Kylie's favourite toys had been her little easel and art set, but there were other things. A little porcelain collect of tiny golden fairies, hand crafted on a shelf, a few stuffed toys, namely a black cat, and a little white dog along with the stuffed bear, and something a little odd.

Kylie had had a little vanity dresser, and hanging from it, still dusty, was a piece of jewelry that didn't suit Kylie as she was now at all. But it was incredibly well made. It was a necklace made of what had to be the heaviest gold Giselle had ever picked up. Pure. The chain itself was fine, but the pendant was one Giselle hadn't seen before around Garellia so far, not on the armor she'd seen, or anywhere else for that matter, save one other place. Cosimo's ship, specifically, his cabin. It was a round pendant, like a heavy coin, but the etching on the front was what had caught her attention, it was a woman dressed in a blue gown, with pale skin if the white and blue gold were any indication, and the eyes were a pair of saphires. It was the exact same emblem that rested against the far back wall of Cosimo's cabin. Why would Kylie have this Before Cosimo had adopted her? It wasn't a simple gift, it was far too valuable for that, and worse, it Hummed with magic. As she reached out to touch it, she was Immediately drained and she had to let it go. What in the hell?

There was something deeper between Cosimo and Kylie, that's what Giselle's gut was telling her anyway, but What exactly.

The sound of the door opening caught her attention immediately but it would be a Baaad idea to leave this thing just.... sitting here in the dark and the dust. But she couldn't touch it, it'd been made to suck whoever held it dry of their magic entirely. Not dangerously, but it'd cut all the power out of her voice and it was clashing VIOLENTLY with her blessing from Melora. She needed something to stash it in. She could hear footsteps inside the house.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Looking at the little easel and whatnot in Kylie's room, Giselle smiled at it, as she saw the little fairies and whatnot. She gathered the stuffed animals up and the golden fairies, and set them on the little bed to stare at for a few moments. Then she spotted the little pendant on the little vanity dresser, and moved over to pick it up, and found it was quite heavy actually. The woman on the thing was what drew her attention, and the symbol was exactly like the one on Cosimo's ship in his cabin.

Giselle reached out to scoop the thing up, but as she did, Giselle felt her power sapped from her, and she was forced to let it go. She could feel the magic within the thing, and she couldn't understand what was going on here. Just as she was thinking about all this, Giselle heard the door downstairs open, and she turned her head to look back out Kylie's bedroom door.

Giselle frantically looked around, and then looked down at the stuffed bear, which she looked for any places on it she could stash the thing in, or one of the other dolls in there, which she would then put into her bag to take out with her.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

The bear indeed had a little slot in the chest, where it's heart would be, a tiny, hidden little pocket. The pendant slid inside and she could stuff it in the bag before she heard them coming up the stairs. heavy steps, clanking, metal armor? She could hear whispered voices, men. And there was a light glow coming from down the hall. She was pinned because the only way out was the stairs. Hecate too was getting reckless and restless. She'd seen them come in the house, and she wasn't talking now, she was just enraged.

Giselle couldn't tell if Hecate was protecting this house, or if she was simply drawn to it, or what was inside it, but she was violently upset that someone else was in it. Giselle she'd tried to warn away, said she wouldn't come in, but these new people, strangers to her, had sent her into a frenzy.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Giselle slipped the teddy bear up under the coin like pendant, and put it into the teddy's pocket on its chest. She just managed to close the teddy bear up as she heard heavy footsteps on the stairs leading up to the room she was in. She could feel Hecate still nearby, but she was no longer talking, and Giselle couldn't tell what was really wrong with her. It worried her, quite a bit.

Giselle pulled her naginata up and spun around, aiming it at the door as she heard it open.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

Her blade wound up directly under the chin of a man in his thirties, handsome, but dressed in full platemail armor, heavily embossed with Pelor's symbol and well cared for, a longsword in his hand. Calm down miss, please calm down, I can't drop my sword in this cursed place he said softly, his hands raising up slowly in a non-threatening way. The damned pendant had undone her disguise as well. She looked fey.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

"Don't say another word unless I ask you a fucking question," Giselle hissed, holding her position around the side of the door, shielded firmly by the wall, what looked to be a naginata, and Loran. "Are you alone?" she then asked the man, noting that her disguise had fallen, and she the rage and anger in her voice was quite obvious to spot.

"Whoever else is out there, step behind Him so I can see you. What are you doing in Her house. Or out here At all, these blocks are full of Undead," she hissed at them, an angry whisper, more at their trespass into this house, and upon her solitude, then anything else it seemed.

"She warned me about Paladins... Get out before it comes back. I wont be responsible..." Giselle then hissed at them.

Re: Kylie (Courage Wolf)

An okami stepped around the corner slowly. "She who? And we can't leave, not yet. Right Loran?" he said, inspecting what she was wearing. There was a small sprite poking her head out of his breastplate, blinking. She then waved her little hand her eyes wide.
