Hey guys.. Dropping by to say that I'm alive and well. My exams are going on so won't be able to update this thread. Thankfully TTOG has uploaded this game. So thanks. And I'll be back.

For me this game is disappointing because it's the completely wrong way to make a sequel to a game. Every good and well received video game sequel that comes to mind kept what worked from its predecessor, removed or tinkered with what didn't work, and created more content in line with what the last game had, they didn't change the genre completely. This is like if BioWare made the next Mass Effect game a 5 hour flight sim.

Plus, even worse for a game is that it's just boring.

Damn, so much time spent on development and they release IMO such a bad game.

Like... Did they even ask themselves what was it that the players liked about the first game? You start the game and there's a text... "Like most of you guys maxed the stats in the previous game, so we won't include it in this game... Rather than doing all that, you will read this boring text and click on choice"...

And the game only lasts for one week! ROFL :)

I'm starting to think they're fucking with us/me... I'm done supporting them. From now on, I'll pirate every game they release.

I literally spent like 1-2H until I finished it and I was bored as hell.

Eleanor 2 was x5 better than this and people were bashing it :)

When I read all the negative comments I thought it would be a weak successor to a fairly good game. It's so much worse than that. I played through the game once. Absolutely. Nothing. Happened. Practically PG-13.

It was so boring and uninteresting that I can't be bothered to replay it for the few "scenes" that I missed. Maybe I'll look at a gallery for it eventually...but even that isn't all that compelling.

Yeah, this whole thing is bizarre. Living with Temptation seems to be one of their most popular games, yet instead of just making LwT 2.0 (which I'm sure most people would've been happy with) they made... this thing that only superficially resembles LwT.

I wonder if despite their talk of having worked on it for a year they actually only threw it together within the last month or two, wanting to get it out the door so they can move on. I just can't fathom a group of people taking a year to make this disappointment.

I do feel a bit bad about bashing Eleanor 2 now. Even though I didn't really like any of its scenarios it still had the sim gameplay, repeatable scenes, and a good amount of content. This game in comparison feels like one of those small ones they'd release for free.

I think a big problem with Lesson of Passion lately is that they seem to be really fixated on making more and more detailed animations which likely cuts deeply into whatever resources they have.

If you want a good laugh (and possibly a sanity loss) read the comments for the game's release on the LoP Blog. Almost entirely filled with sycophants saying how perfect it is and how it's their best game yet; my brain can barely process such a massive stream of garbage. There are a few good comments though, like someone asking "Is this a demo?" which really sums it up perfectly.

Well the dev confirmed they are adding scenes in a expansion pack but yeah this was clearly rushed.

Ah, so you mean it's a lot like Mass Effect III compared to the first two games? ;)

Only being able to select one action each part of the day is weird. I get why they did it that way (they want players to player through the game a lot, like, a lot, to see all of the different scenes and branches, but in the end I just don't think this method is as fun as the first game. I like having a daily time system with certain events hidden in certain times of the day on certain days for that sense of discovery. As this game stands now, it's like a Choose Your Own Adventure Book that's like 50 pages long but each branch is like 5 pages total and each one ends with them telling you to start over to see all of the different things you can see if you try completely different actions. It's like, yeah, I guess there is a lot of different branching paths, but they're all short and unsatisfying compared to the build-up of the first game.

It's not all bad, though. I like how they gave you the options to select your preferred playstyle based off how you preferred to play the first game (did you cheat or not, is your wife a turboslut or not). Being able to extend the tease and seduction of Lisa into this game is pretty neat and still provides satisfaction when you finally do the dirty with her for the first time. Not having to grind stats is fine with me, too, but again, the giant reduction in player action potential each day was a major bummer. I figured this game wouldn't be able to pull off a Godfather Part II so I kept my expectations low, but the major shift in gameplay style from the first game after Eleanor 2 played it safer for fans of the first game was ultimately an unwelcome change IMO.

As for the reduced content being put back in for future expansions, it appears this is becoming the LOP norm in order to retain memberships. I'm guessing their membership has very noticeable spikes followed by severe drops after a major release so it seems just like with Eleanor 2 and LWS they're having expansions already in the testing phase by the time of release of the base game in order to tease out current members into staying on another month to get the expansion, and then the next major release, rinse repeat. I don't fault them for this, but in the past when I subscribed for major releases and later resubbed for the major expansion releases I don't see myself staying a member or resubbing for these tiny updates of content. I wish they would go back to the PC game tradition of major (big) expansions, but if current market conditions mean the trickle-down strategy gets them more money then more power to them.

I think everyone on this board is pretty much in agreement (which so rarely happens), so I'll keep it short.

I really only have two main gripes. First, the game was wayyyyy too fast with too much happening to the point that I never really understood the consequences of my actions. Maybe if they were explainable by more stats than just (me: 1 - douchebag: 3) then there would be a bit more meaning to my choices.

Second, they ruined the pillar of what made LwT 1 amazing: real character development and progression. Every action you took to get Tracy or Lisa made sense and was largely about one at the expense of the other - it was probably as realistic as a good porn game can be without being tragic or too cheesy. By introducing captain-douchebag, stereotypical-lonely-blond-wife, and no-english girl into the mix, we didn't really get much out of the characters we cared about, and since the story was meant to wrap up so quickly, the story development for these new characters felt forced out of nowhere. The combination of this shallowness and the lack of transparency from my point above was actually most frustrating in getting the threesome. I didn't feel like I earned it (see earlier point), and it didn't really make sense why turbo slut wife and mistress would just get it on because I clicked the right button.

I can only imagine they did all this to enhance the replay value. It actually did the opposite. Dumping text walls on me to relive a relatively boring week over and over again just to grind scenes for characters I've stopped caring about is like a sadder version of that movie, Groundhog Day.

Also that kid does NOT look like a one year old. Cheers.

Wow all this talk about the first game makes me want to play it.

Sounds like a really good LoP game. Good LoP games are rare considering they release so many.

To be fair the first game was almost a mindless grind till the expansion pack(s). The writer also posted why they went the way they did over on shark lagoon's forums. I just wish they'd fix the bugs with some scenes(sauna with richard and his wife is hilariously broken if you play it cool. Same with cucking Richard at the skating ring). I like how some scenes set up for later scenes like if you play it cool at the sauna when Richard is showing off his wife and teasing you then you get a scene at the shop when you go to town with tracy and whats her name.

Also wish they'd let enter progress scenes cause my left click on my razer naga is being a sensitive bitch.

The first game is really amazing, you should play it, worth every MB in your hard drive space. :rolleyes:;)

You can get them yourself with a flash decompiler, download the game, open the SWF with the decompiler, extract the images, done.

About the game... Well, Some of their free games had more meat than this, it's their biggest disappointment to date, apparently they didn't understood what made LWT liked, removed those liked parts and went with a totally linear and short game.

It's not about putting out a lot of images (and there aren't that many, mind you) it's about making a fun game with well written scenes.
