Re: Mad God's Key - first adventure

(This is what happens when you roll a natural 20 on a skill check.)

After looking at the corpses you notice they are all recently deceased. The two you recognize as the thugs from this morning seem to be covered in what you think are many small bites. You can't really tell if this caused their death, but you see no other visible wounds aside from those caused by your party.

A search of the corpses reveals nothing, as they have no equipment or armor and their rags are worthless.

"Bites? Are we talking rats or spiders?"

You can't tell anything other than they are bite marks.

"Well, lets go check the other passage. We've probably been detected by now, but lets try to stay quiet all the same."

"Maybe, maybe not." Krys doesn't sound too hopeful, though. "And keep alert, too. These guys might be the front-runners to something worse." She keeps her blade out to emphasize that fact.

If all the creatures here are as dumb ass these things, then maybe if they had detected us they would have attacked already. As a precaution, though, Xaren does shape the beginnings of a magical bolt within one of his fingers.

"Let's just hope you're right." Jess says as the group sorts itself and starts moving again. "I'm not very anxious to find out what left all those bite marks, either..."

"However, you do seem more than capable of handling what might get thrown at us," Krys says with a slight smile, adding, "with Ashnod's help."

"My 'help'? I was tha one that did most of tha killin'! ...err... re-killin'..." Ashnod chuckles. "Either way, should we continue on yet? Or do ye still need yer rest?"

Krys looks to the dwarf, puts a finger to her lips and winks, though she is grinning. Looks like she's trying to give Craig a boost. "I'm good." She dusts her hands on her knees and does her best to listen to the corridor ahead, make sure they're not going to walk into anything more unfriendly.

((So, move back to the fork and take the other path now, right? The usual people do their spot/listen checks so we don't get jumped, right? Just thought I'd give this a bump, remind everyone, right?))
