With a flash, the majority of the Lickers were instantly barbequed. Only one survived the initial flames, and it tried to leap at him, but failed miserably with it's legs gone. It flailed about for several moments before it too dided, but from blood loss.




Chris flashed a thumbs up sign at a camera as they passed it, knowing Akira was likely to catch it. He came through the wall, prepared to put on a burst of speed, then saw the creature.

"Oh ... Fuck. TESLAS!"


He'd dropped his other weapon, pulling out the Tesla, preparing to fire at the beast even as it attacked again.



The plant lady didn't get much of a chance to reply to Sarah as the tentacle came flying at her again. This time she dodged, but was not ready for the second swing. It caught her full in the body, lifting her up and sending her flying into the wall of the building. She smashed through it, crumpling to the floor, and did not move again. Almost immediately, the beast began moving towards the fallen abnormal.


Pulling out a radio, Chris spoke.

"Akira, try to raise the choppers, tell them to push their way here and to bring flame throwers or something with flame, I have an idea."


Regina and Clara had barely gotten out of the way of the falling body when they saw the creature. Clara's eyes went wide, and she lunged to the right, out of the way. Regina went left, firing off a few rounds as she did.

If Ellen was paying attention, she'd note that the M16 rounds simply had no ill effect on the beast at all.

Shit, this is stupid, this is stupid... Sarah thought to herself as she leaps through the broken wall, grabbing the plantgirl before begining to run again. Admittedly, it would be a bit heartless to leave it...

Akira nods and tunes the radio to the helicopter's frequency, "This is Akira of the WH13 team, our leader Chris, who's unavailable at the moment, is requesting weapons of a firey nature, if you got any, please bring 'em down! Or well, if you guys have bombs on the helicopters or somethin..."

In one graceful motion, Ellen's gun hand dipped down to holster her pistol and draw the Tesla. Taking quick aim, she let's loose a blast of electrical energy into the beast, hoping to distract it from it's current prey.

As he watched the monster squirm with his emotionless, cold blue eyes, he let out a low, relaxing sigh. "It's never that easy... Why can't it ever be that easy..." he said quietly, and to himself as his gaze shifted to the empty pod which was supposed to contain Chris' wife. And after a moment of staring at the empty pod, subconscious thoughts running rampant in his mind, dozens of people from different eras commenting at the same time about how they'd never seen such a strange thing, and only a few murmured quietly about monsters similar to those they've fought before... And one, just one commented on something regarding history repeating itself...

Roger shook his head, trying to seal all of the others in his mind away, before adjusting his white cloak and hood. Roger spoke aloud as he started a slow walk through the underground facility, walking wherever he thought would take him closer to exactly what the Cabal soldiers were looking for, if they were looking for more than simple test subjects, that is, "I remember Leena talking about artifacts growing in power with age..." He reached up, and touched his forehead with his index and middle finger, as if he was touching his 'third eye', "I wonder how old Selmahn is... I wonder if it didn't really choose me, and I'm just some kind of reincarnation of the same person, over and over again..."

Walking a bit more, and down some more steps, deeper into the facility, Roger had one final thought, "I wonder if this is really a blessing... Or a curse..."

The Tesla 'round' slammed into the beast, which let out a roar like a wounded Wildebeast. Then it spotted Sarah trying to take away it's prey, and let loose a much more viscious sounding roar of rage, lunging at them with frightening speed.


Chris, about the only one in position to do anything, used his speed to his advantage. Moving on an angle, he blasted the thing once more with his own Tesla, dropping it out of mid air as it recoiled from the higher setting blast. It did recover, but by the time it had regained enough focus to attack again, Sarah and the plant girl were out of it's range, further angering the beast. It now turned on Chris and Ellen, rising up once more in an attack gesture.



"Copy that Akira, we should reach them in three minutes."

She could see several soldiers cut through a back way entry, one of them carrying a wicked looking Flame Thrower.





Roger found himself finally coming to a passage he recognized. It was the same one he'd been in with Chris before with the glowing plants. Only this time, things were slightly different.

For one, the area which had been completely bare of anything BUT the plants, now was littered with material from where an encampment had obviously once been. What was more, he recognized the symbol as belonging to Tricell, a company that had once worked with Umbrella, and who it was believed had died out with them.

Another thing that jumped to mind was, if he turned around, the tunnel he'd come from had VANISHED.


And that was when he heard the groan off to his left.

Roger twisted his lips at the sight of the plants once more, although not paying much heed to the abandoned looking area around him, "So, Wesker has a green thumb as well as a pink pussy. Fancy that." he said aloud. Then, he planted his hands on his hips, and shrugged, "Maybe the Cabal were just looking to shut down one of Wesker's Uroboros operations here."

And, after hearing the groan, Roger made a groan of his own, pulling out his Deagle in one instant, anger and irritation flaring in his core, "Is that more monsters? Really?" he said aloud with greatly annoyed tone as he turned, and faced in the direction he heard the groan, pointing his weapon in the sound's general direction, ready to waste some of his bullets wildly in order to vent some frustration.

Suddenly Roger heard the report of a 9mm Handgun go off, and three rounds stuck the wall behind his head. It was hard to tell if they were misplaced on purpose or not, though the voice that followed made it seem they were.

"Hold it there! Come no further until you identify yourself! Gah. Identify yourself now ... or the next one ... goes through your eye. Ow."



From the sounds of it, this sounded more like a wounder man, who wasn't sure who'd wandered into his resting spot. One had to wonder how wounded he was though, since his voice was wavering at best.

Akira nods and turns to farnsworth again, clicking it on, "Support will be coming in about three minutes, you guys should be able to last that long." Akira looks down again, trying to judge how long it would be before the beasties bursted out. Would the birth really be fatal? How would Regina know? After all, this was supposedly the first documented case of it happening. Suddenly, Akira brightens up and puts a hand on the monitors, concentrating, "Show me the result, if any, of a woman giving birth to these... things. Also, notify me of any other people besides the team in the area..."

Akira eventually saw several women from just a few hours before their arrival suffer the same fate she had, and every last one of them eventually collapsed to the floor, screaming as their stomachs were literally torn open and eaten from the inside out. Every last one of them died as dozens of the plaga burst from them, birthing in one of the most grotesque ways she could imagine.

Her search for anyone other than the team only turned up an abandoned Cabal helicopter, but other than that, the camera network showed nothing she didn't already know of.

Ducking behind the plants quickly to take cover, Roger was a little shocked to find gunfire for two good reasons. One, the last thing he expected was something with a pistol, aiming at him. Second, he expected a warning of any danger. The fact that the bullets misses, and thus didn't spark his instinct, made him feel a little vulnerable.

Once he was safe behind one of the Tricell crates, Roger immediately shouted out, "Hold your fire!" at the top of his lungs. And after the man ordered him to identify himself, Roger shook his head a little, "If it means anything, I ain't exactly buddies with the monsters runnin' around here, or those Cabal freaks. Does that answer your question?" he asked the man, before adding onto that, "And while we're playing fifty questions, who the hell are you?"

After a long moment he got a reply.

"B.S.A.A command sent you huh? Thank god. Name is Corporal James Worth, sorry for the mishap there sir. Ya sounded like a human entering the room, but with those damn plaga-folk running about out there, can't be too careful. Gah, ow. Come on over here, behind the third rock on the left ... I'll try to fill you in before ... well, before I bleed to death sir."



That answered the question of if he was injured or not.

"Alright," Roger announced, "I'm comin' out... Don't shoot me." he told him, before stepping out, and heading towards him, taking steps over to where the man said he was. "How bad is it? If it's just bleeding, I've got a lighter that can seal your wound... It'll hurt like a mother-fucker though."

Grabbing the plant girl and dragging her off, Sarah tried to look for a way to circle back to the rest of the team, if it was feasible. If not, well, there's always the distractionary measures again

Ellen watched her shot hit the beast, looking for anything specific to target in the writhing mass. She noticed Sarah trying to get around it, and started pacing in the opposite direction, firing twice more to keep it's attention focused on her, trying to goad it into coming her way so Sarah and her new friend can get around it and escape.

The creature did react by lunging forward at Ellen, trying to engulf her inside of it's mass, while slamming out one of it's tentacles, forcing Chris out of position to shoot it in the process.



Sarah found that there was a side door she'd missed earlier that led to an alley way just off to the side of where she'd been. If she took that, she should be able to hook up with her group in short order.



Kevin didn't find much more at first, at least until he entered one of the offices. There he found the remains of a woman who seemed to have been torn open from the inside, blood splattered everywhere. He also found that she had been clutching one of the devices they needed.




Roger made his way over to the young man, who appeared to be pretty badly wounded. His leg was at a strange angle, and he could see blood trickling out from under the towel he had around it. That might make him guess it was a compound fracture, which likely meant the poor sap couldn't walk. Wait though, if he couldn't walk, how had he gotten here? And it was a miracle then the man was even still awake and hadn't passed out.

"Pretty sure my leg is busted sir. Done what I can to slow the bleeding and all, but ... I don't think I'm going to be walking out of here. I'm not sure I can even crawl out of here either, you might end up having to radio me in and leave me behind. Sorry I can't be of more help to you sir."

As Roger knelt down, and looked at the man's condition, he winced as he regarded the man's leg, "Oh, man... You're fucked pretty bad..." he said bluntly, before tilting his head a little, minding his words, "Sorry." he apologized quickly. "But, I won't lie to you, you're probably going to die... However, you can let your death not be in vain, by telling me exactly what's down here, and why both you and the Cabal are so interested in this place." he told him, at the very least allowing the man to make his likely death mean something other than a slow, painful end.

Kevin looks at the woman, shaking his head slowly, then slowly prying her fingers from the device, standing and looking at it "Why would something so small be so significant?" he asks, then begins to exit the office, stopping at the door and looking down at his left hand, then thinking back to the villagers he had run from, wondering to himself if there was really a difference between himself and them.

Having expected the beast's attack, Ellen had already planted her feet to spring away, taking another shot at the thing with her Tesla as she did so.

Keeping ahold of the plant girl, she goes to hit for the side door, hoping to evade the black mass.
