Well, lesson learned, I don't know how to count. Couldn't summon my trap like I thought I could because it costs 3 mana and I only had 2 left.

Rawr, would that have actually done anything? (I mean, everything's facedown, but I doubt your opponent would have refrained from attacking).
Finally got a good match in my favor, I whittled down my opponent to 296 (for some reason, I had an Emily just pecking away until turn 8 or so while I traded cards with my opponent). Faced down a beefed up Sylvie and some serious card advantage...drew two Jody's for the win. I think I'd probably have won anyway, since any slight mistake and my opponent would've lost. To his credit though, he played quite intelligently--I think most players in this tourney are fairly good at this game though.
A win is 2 points if it is past turn 4 or 5. Tournaments are really grindy though. You have to spend more time and play more games than almost everyone else to get a top spot.Anyway, I can't find any prizes for ranking, so unless I'm perceiving this wrong, we're only getting prizes for individual competition points? I suppose that's a good thing for me (since I'm getting my ass whooped in this one), but I'm not sure this change is a good thing in general; it means there's not really any incentive to win/play stronger players, other than extra gacha points. Also, the Ex Nena prize (the top one) looks nigh impossible to attain by competition points alone.
200 points in 7 days...correct me if I'm wrong, but if one battle is one point and a normal battle takes about 5 minutes or so, then (200points x 5 min = 1000 min total) 1000min/7 days = 142 minutes a day. That's about 2+ hours a day of straight AS, contingent on whether you actually find anyone to play against (which may be a problem since some of us have jobs and the only time to play is late at night). :/

A chance to get them to remove the trap instead of just blindly attacking. Because for all they know, I could've had 2 face down Emily's and an EX invitation waiting for them.

To be fair, the prizes this time are a lot better for people who can't get top 10 or top 30. They give a lot more medals this time, and the ex card rewards are only really playable in a dark defensive mill themed deck. Players that want to build that deck can grind it out, as long as they can win like 20% of their games.
Unless I'm missing something here, they still have the same rewards for rankings like the last tournament. They just beefed up the CP achievement rewards.Still though, I think AS should've kept in the rewards for the Top 100 or so. It's still a tourney--not having achievement rewards for a competition seems a bit odd.
From what I saw of the EX cards during the Event, their stats were strong enough to make them playable on that basis alone.A win is 2 points if it is past turn 4 or 5. Tournaments are really grindy though. You have to spend more time and play more games than almost everyone else to get a top spot.

@nordland
i got 4 server errors today and none of them let me reconnect to the match...
Hey dartred,
I sent your post along to the devs so they could take a look at the issue. They are aware that the tournaments are still wobbly, as they're receiving quite a few tickets. They're working on implementing fixes on these stability issues.
Hopefully it'll clear up soon!
Have to ask but does anyone have a clue on how to proc her ability?
Tried procing her via attack an enemy, letting her get destroyed, face up attack, or is she a summon based effect?
Tried procing it on 1300 atk or less cards
Soul Angel Raquillet
[Soul Break] (Skill cost: 3 mana)
Choose 1 face-up character on your opponent's field with ATK less than 1500 and destroy her.
