As a Gold unit he's much better than Valerie by default, as he can be awakened in the future. If you already have 2 Platinum healers, I'd say grab him. 70 Demon Crystals is not that much, and I doubt you will ever regret having strong Mage in party.

I'll probably end up using her over Despera just for the fact she can so easily be CR'ed, and get skill ups.
Cost and access. I already have a CR'ed Adel. I wont be getting that with Depera anytime soon, if ever.
