Is there any decent way to increase fighting skills other than actually going into battle? It's a pain in the ass to have to pay $30 and sit around doing nothing for 3 days to regen energy after every battle.

Also, for those who are actually far into the game, about how many slaves do you have to sell before you can actually start making a halfway decent profit?Every one I've sold so far I've put ~$400 into, and only been able to sell for $500 (with the exception of one I spent $600 on and sold for $100).
This is due mostly to the fact that food is seriously fucking expensive. $15 a day for spaghetti with tomato sauce? Really?

Red Heart(vitality) is Strength(Strong Herculean).
Purple Heart(morale) is Personality(Loser Leader).
Green Heart(stamina) is based on overall energy stars you have.

If vitality is damaged you get wounds.
If stamina is damaged you get red stars
I don't know about morale.

Go to the Colosseum and spar until you have some decent strength, I do not think you can actually level martial arts with it but the strength and the special skills will help.
Also get Aketo from the boutique straight +1 to martial. Also buy a decent armor and weapon and equip it properly in battle. If you are still punching and kicking its not going to help much.

As for the slaves you answered your own damn question, don't give them expensive food, maybe invest in fiend cum by getting a pen, body modification is also a way to get food.
It all is based on the girls stats, there is no point in struggling to train what amounts to a D rank when you can do the same in like 5 days with better one.
Slave guild contracts are great if you carefully look at the stats.
Also sometimes the rep and skill gain is worth losing a few sparks.

Hi, could I have some advice on selling my slave, please?

What does it mean if the buyer wants an assistant or concubine? Is that a high level Secretary or escort? Is there more to it? Will the skill name actually change from secretary to assistant?

I'm trying to sell my branded, rank D secretary slave to Don Castille, but he just tells me to bugger off.

EDIT: all good! Turns out, relevant skill (clerical/secretary for assistant) needs to be blue. Also, if Castelle says no once, he'll forever be no, even when the slave wildly exceeds his previous expectations. I was able to sell her to another buyer, and then load from a previous save and sell to castelle after all (after making her secretary skill blue).

Thanks, the fighting and selling advice is useful.

As for the food... you still need to spend money on food for yourself though, which in my experience is where the biggest cost comes into play. And the body-mod stuff would help so much more if you could still get milk and eggs from a slave kept in your dungeon

It's per slave. Once an offer has been declined the buyer will never accept that slave, regardless of any improvements to her. All the residential buyers, at least - the shop-owner types appear to re-check with each offer.

Its sex skills but I'm not sure how it works since it usually take them to C rank.
Maybe you need a blue skill sex skill technique(not individual)?

Whenever you encounter a weird quirk in this game, just remember:
  • fixing the code is unpleasant because QSP is a bad language and the IDE has few features
  • the game was developed using poor practices ("Let's use JUMP statements with minimal documentation! Let's copy-paste major blocks of game logic!") so you might forget to apply your fix in all of the necessary places. Or your fix might get invoked twice and crash the game.
    • You can refactor the code (ARGH!) or spend hours carefully testing all of the permutations (ARGH!) or just release it as-is (and then it behaves strangely and users complain).
  • each code change will invalidate all of your saved games. In order to verify a bugfix you must play through the game from the start.
    • "Okay, I've trained up the necessary Obedience and Secretarial skills. Tomorrow we can go visit don Castille and... Welp. That's a chestburster. I guess I'll restart and remember to visit the Medical Center next time."
Did you ever figure out how to reduce a girl's pride?
Do humiliating things to her. The "Rules" page on her character sheet has a lot of checkbox options. If you click on one of them it will describe its effects. You'll find lots of ways to humble her; the question is "what are you willing to sacrifice?" Silence diminishes her temperament (thus - it tends to reduce her Rank); preventing her from using the toilet will make her unhappy; urinating on her will make her filthy.

The "Shaming" options in the Punishment menu will significantly reduce pride (but they tend to incur pain, fear, and misery). Rough or fetishistic sex will gradually diminish her pride - even if she's a willing participant! - but it tends to make a mess and it costs a lot of energy (which translates into recovery time - and time is money!). Losing a chariot race will reduce her pride (but chariot races are dangerous for both the horse and the rider, and they occur infrequently so you can't just "spam" this option).

I'm getting a weird bug where after actions (I only checked with the Slave Activities > Sex option) and when I go into the Serpentine quarter (or back, from that menu) it instead ends the day. This is only happening with this character (who seems to be pretty fucking awesome :<), for some reason.

Anyone know why the "petting" option for rewarding your pet is usually darkened out? (Its the erotic '3' reward).
