Re: [ONEONE1] ダークエルフのヒストリア

Hello,

i need help with the partial tranlation patch. Where do i have to put the files from the data folder? It doesnt work if i simply but it in the main folder where the game launcher is stored. :(

Re: [ONEONE1] ダークエルフのヒストリア

Hello friend, is the partial versions only translating the menus and not the dialogue? :)

It's on the first post of this thread...it's a partial, which means data folder and maybe graphics - you need the base game still (the original japanese) - how you get that is up to you (buying is recommended)...then follow Yugi's how to apply a partial instructions.

Partials by definition generally do not do the dialog - sometimes some, but not all. Usually just menu items and maybe quests as needed.

Yes yes i know. For some reason i overlooked the link for the partial and fucked up. I already have the game.....a friend dropped it on his way home :)rolleyes:) and i forgot to give it back to him.

Is there a complete translation for the game somewhere in the deep space of the internet? Since Monster Girl Quest 1-3 from torotoro had such a good story (for a sex game) i still believe its worth a shot.^^

ONEONE1 games suffer from a heavy problem that's stopping us from completely translating them: The dialogues are encrypted by a separate program. To be able to edit them, you need a special key only the creator knows. So yeah, we're screwed, even though they're fine games and worth a translation.

And let me guess....they dont give a shit to change that, isnt it? Sometimes i dont understand this devs. With english translation (fuck the horrible machine tranlation on [RE076472] Dragon Bride btw.) there would be way more interest in buying this games.

I think they don't really care about the overseas fans. Which is not smart, if you ask me, since this very forum the living example that the gaijin fanbase exists and isn't just a handful of people. But still, since we can't read the mind of a dev, we can't understand the logic behind encrypting the dialogues.

I recall on an older discussion, someone said it was to protect the dialogues from being copied, but if that's the reason, isn't it kinda extrem? I mean sure, you can go around, grab 50 rpgmaker games, copy all the texts, and create something of your own, but would it matter? It's not like a dev would care, most of the time they release the game, bugfix it, release updates, and after a point you probably won't give a damn about it.

By the way, there actually is a way to translate, even like this, but it's really tedious and might even break stuff. You can open the game and start talking to npcs while hooking the text. Then go to the RPGMaker, and replace the links to the encrypted text with the hooked text. Better off if you replace it with the translation at once. If someone really wanted to translate a ONEONE1 game, this would probably be the only solution. But as I said, really tedious, I'd only suggest it if one has no other projects that seem worth translating, and only likes ONEONE1 games.

Re: [ONEONE1] ダークエルフのヒストリア

I would like to note that you can actually decrypt the dialogs, translate them and encrypt them again, without breaking the game,
because the game contains everything you need for the decryption / encryption process.

Some time ago I wrote a tool for that purpose, I can upload it if people are interested.

I remember asking similar question and a guy wrote that jap devs don't want to attract attention with translated games, even fan made translations. Because it's illegal to sell their porn outside of Japan.

About the game in question - it looks rather neat, I would've liked to play it. But I don't see myself playing a game without understanding any of the story in it.
Sexy art is cool and whatnot, even if it's censored (yet another Japanese crap), but without the context... I may as well just decrypt it and browse through the pics...

Say what? Why in hell would that be illegal? They already cencor the penis and the vagina becaue THATS a thing in japan afaik. Oh wait wait....is the infamous EU involved in this? I love how they prove their retardness each day.

No, that's not it. A lot of countries have laws on obscenity, which is normally forbidden. . Also the banning of the Rapelay game and the resulting kerfuffle around it convinced a lot of Japanese people that similar content was illegal in the west, which may or may not be true (hard to tell, as a court has never ruled on if that was obscene or not - but frankly, it probably would count).

In any case, on a lot of sexual oriented stuff, Japan is an outlier. There are two wildly different principals governing their laws (indiginous based laws, and the stuff imposed on them under US occupation at the end of WW2), and their obscenity laws are rather permissive in terms of content, just not necessarily actual depiction (hence censorship).

Tsss Americans. No movie can be bloody enough but if it comes to porn they act like virgins. I hate this level of hypocrisy. Oh well lets deal with it.

What? Do you mean the European Union? How could possibly the EU forbid a country from selling anything outside of its borders?

Anyways, the guy said it's a Japanese law. No one argued with him, so I took it on face value. It's also the only logical explanation I can think of for the translation nonsense.

Re: [ONEONE1] ダークエルフのヒストリア

guys arent they gonna release this game on steam... translated

Re: [ONEONE1] ダークエルフのヒストリア
