So what the fuck was the point of releasing this "english" version of the game? Its censored, needs porn DLC to be playable and the translation sucks ass... Seems like a quick cash grab and a cheap attempt to gain publicity.

They saw all the VNs on steam raking in the money and wanted to get in on it. They've got two more of their games releasing this month.

If you don't want to buy/wait for the patch, there's an easy way to go around it that's been covered in this thread : extract the files from the steam version like you'd do for a translation patch, Dl the japanese game, extract the files from it, copy and paste the battlers, pictures, characters and animation folders into the graphics folder of the steam version.
Im still at the start of the game, but it's been working out pretty good so far.

When you get to the h-scenes tell us if they are translated. I don't mind buying even if the translation is a little bad as long as it is the WHOLE game.

The translation is awful, worse than a fan translation. Barely better than machine.

Anyone else having a problem getting to chapter 5 on non virgin? I get an error message.

Your error message most likely says something about an unhandled escape sequence. The reason for this is, that they probably translated the game using some script together with some form of machine translation. This resulted in some variable references turning from \I[122] to \[122], I [122] or \ I[122] which RPG maker cannot handle resulting in mentioned crash.
It is kind of sad that they didn't even bother to play test the game or at least run a validation parser. Anyways I fixed the errors and attached the corrected file.

TL;DR: They were lazy; fix is attached

So I realized that they're releasing Dystopia as well, under the name of "Killing Time" on August 24. I'm glad i've played through the original game(s), I just hope the translation wouldn't be as bad.

Just extract it in the game folder, it contains the Arc folder together with the patched main.rvdata2 file.
Or extract it somewhere else and manually replace main.rvdata2.

Thank you for the fix, I thought I broke something myself when I was swapping out images.

Frankly that is my fear, wich is why i haven't done, but out of curiosity how did you do it? i mean the game carries a graphic folder even without extracting files, so i can't just copy paste all of it from the jap version, can't i?

Nope, that wont work, you need to extract the main file (the rgss file) and put the extract folders on the main folder (the one with the exe) and put in another folder the rggs (just as a backup) if you put the images in normal graphic folder the game wont read it since it gives priority to the rggs file.

Try All decrypter if you need a program to extract rggs files.

And dont be affraid, if you broke the game just move back the rggs file to the main folder (the one with the .exe) and it will work again.



PS. now i have the game and did what i told u and everything seems find and working ok.

Okay so the DLC is actually 6$ because it's on sales. So really you're spending as much money as if you were buying the japanese version on DLsite English. But with a crappy english TL as a bonus.

So actually it's not a bad deal at all. Still disapointed by the translation.

Of course the H-scenes are translated, why wouldn't they be ?

The main thing that makes me happy about the Steam release is that, compared to DLsite, Steam doesn't censor negative reviews. It'll be interesting to see how they handle disappointed customers when the DLsite Super Censorship Friends team aren't around to shelter them from reality. The "thumbs down" posts are already starting to show up...though I'm uncomfortable about the fact that many of them lists stupid reasons so far: "Get the CGs free on sadpanda" and people not getting the fact that Steam can't sell handsdown hardcore ero-RPGs uncensored...

Yup, unfortunately non-curated reviews also means that you'll have to deal with reviewers who don't know what they're talking about or dumb "joke" reviewers. That's especially true when you're talking about a crowd (steam users) that probably never spent a cent on DLsite and never played a japanese H-RPG (and if they did, most likely never through legal means).

The whole "the game is censored on steam" thing isn't such a big deal, one can easily work around that with either official or unofficial patches.

The real dealbreaker here is the horrendous translation.
I saw most people say that it's still better than machine translation but yeah... I dunno, it mostly looks like unrevised machine translation to me.
Unlike the censorship, the translation would take a lot of time and effort to fix.

I am not buying the game as it is.
