(Open to New Players) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

"Then that's what I'll tell him. Remain here, and don't try to turn tail and run. Or I will hunt you down like dogs." she warned them before going inside the gate. However, before she did, she seemed to leave her weapons behind. The girls seemed keen on taking the peaceful route, so if they chose to wait, the tiefling would return after a few minutes.

"Father Garland is excited to hear a new priestess of Eldath has come to meet him. And heroes no less. He said verbatim: I wish to show the heroes something they will no doubt really wish to see." she declared. "I won't permit you to enter with your belongings though, sans the clothes and armor on your back. Leave all weapons and magical trinkets here, as I did. No one, excluding father Garlands most trusted bodyguards, are permitted to be armed in the estate. That includes me and you, so hand over your weapons and we'll go inside."

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Weiss merely continued to have a strained smile when the tieflings threatened them, especially since they’ve done nothing that would deserve such a treatment, and she was currently fighting with herself to keep herself from voicing those complaints. ''Don’t worry we’ve got no reason to flee.''

''That’s wonderful.'' Weiss said pleased when she heard they got granted access to meet Garland. However, when they asked them to disarm themselves, Weiss got a little bit worried, not for her own safety, as she was fairly confident in her fighting capabilities without any weapons, but that some of them might not be willing to part with their equipment as easily as she would. Weiss was also curious how they would spot magical trinkets, as neither of the tieflings looked like casters. ''If it’s only weapons, then I’ve got no problems with it, here’s my crossbow and mace.'' Weiss said, giving up both her mace and crossbow, even though she wasn’t sure if the others would follow her example.

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Talia shrugged before handing her weapons over. Much as she disliked parting with them for whatever reason, they weren't terribly necessary to her. She was a sorceress, after all, she was perfectly capable of fucking up a person even unarmed. What made her feel concern was the odd response of this Garland person. Show the heroes something they want to see? She didn't like how it was worded. And given the situation, she could make a few educated guesses as to what this could be, none of them leading to anything good. Mentally, the tiefling prepared herself for trouble.

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Kat bit her lip at the idea of leaving her weapon behind. She didn't like this, and she could only guess they were probably going to get grabbed in this place. Especially since they mentioned early about the chaos women getting here first. Really, why was it the villain always seem to got somewhere first.

Though the party would probably need her inside, so she sighed. "Fine, Kat will leave greatsword here."

Worst came to worst, she could probably pick up a candlestick and beat some people to the death with it.

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Laya listened before smiling and handing over her bow and her daggers. Her magic was a better weapon overall anyways and if she needed a blade, she was sure she could get another one. Or all else failed, hit them with a lute.

"Of course, I wouldn't wish to cause a fuss after all." This seemed like it was Weiss' show, and she was happy to play along for now. She had handled the lizardfolk after all, time to let the real heroes shine.

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Ok, something smelled a little off about this. Ever part of her training told her there was something wrong with this situation. Or at least that something like this was leading into a very obvious ambush. One didn't survive out in the wild without picking up this sort of instinct. Lots of animals had it too. Huh. Guess she was closer to them then civilized folk anyway. And Kat. Might explain a lot. Either way, they wouldn't be going anywhere until all of them gave up their gear and she seemed to be the only one left. Hell, even Kat gave up her great sword. And Vylyra had a healthy arsenal of weapons on hand: Handaxe, spear, bow, and a staff that doubled as a walking stick. All handed over to the authorities so they could enter. "I do hope the good father is as disarmed as we are. Would only seem fair after all."

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

"Aye, your weapons and anything else on your person. It'll be stored here for when you come back." she indicated to the guard house just inside the gates. "Pretty much everything cides the clothes on your back. So any scrolls or other strange dodads, hand em over." she declared. At the elf's note, the tiefling narrowed her gaze. "You assume Garland a murderer? A traitor? And you are heroes who judge people so negatively? I wonder if even heroes act upon blind justice." she said.

Once the girls were disarmed and their belongings removed, they would each enter the premises with only their clothes and armor.

If/When the girls agreed, they'd be escorted into the grounds where they would be taken to the front gates, with a pair of human women armed with spears called in to guide them. "Garland is adored, a prophet, a savior. For all the suffering the Knight King has brought, Garland has brought hope and happiness." they said, as the group would see men dressed in gardeners garb going around watering and trimming the vegetation. "He acts as the balance between good and evil. Offering shelter to those wanting away from this awful war between Order and Chaos. All while facilitating the peace." she declared, approaching the double doors and opening them for the girls to see a red carpet going down a long hallway to a .

In a throne down the hall, a man with an angelic face sat, surrounded by women. Each, including himself, were decorated in silk, as were the furnishings. He wore various jewelry that some would identify to be hand crafted and of poor make, from clay or otherwise a cheap metal. A prince among the poor or so he seemed to be, wearing shoddy gifts that he seemed to boast as treasures. The women around him swarmed around him, smothering him with affection as he watched the heroines enter with a stoic expression. As they came forth, he looked immediately to Weiss. "Weiss... Priestess of Eldath... You walk with her beauty, I can see." he complimented her. Then, he looked at Kat. "Kat, I presume? I have a girl here who shares your race. Unfortunate birth by a canine creature's hand. Still, no misfortune seemed to stain your ability to weather the storm and emerge a woman of beauty. I admire your powerful form." he complimented her as well. "Alas, I do not have your names. An elf, wearing such an expression that hides her true charm, a tiefling... I have a spot of adoration for that devilish nature. And a most charming bard from the looks of it. Or perhaps a novelist? I'm not quite sure, but your red locks have me interested."

After he got through charming the girls, it was up to them to determine how charmed they were indeed.

[DC 17 versus being Charmed, much like before but with less sexual craze. More just RP reasons to like him a little better as you would do onto an npc. Roll Charisma in return. Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Charisma save:

Talia's eyes roamed around the estate as she walked, taking in the sights. Well-tended gardens, numerous staff, and the luxuries inside were obvious. Silks, precious wood, the opulence here was obvious, almost evoking the image of a royal chamber. She wondered how much of it was deliberate on the dear father's part. Those who worked here seemed to revere the man as if he were true royalty, at least. Then again, if he truly managed to bring them out of extreme poverty, especially at a time as difficult as this, it's no wonder he'd be held in such a high regard. Still, what kind of a man was he?

As the tiefling finally got to see the man himself, she couldn't help but note the sheer number of women around him. Something he seemed to take in stride rather stoically. His looks were definitely top grade, like the masterpiece of a high-level artist. And he could have his way with words, too. However, his charms were no magical compulsions. The sorceress, whose ancestors lived off of seducing men and women, still had some of their affinity for such in her blood and had little trouble with listening to his compliments without letting them affect her, pleasant as they were. She was much more interested in the man himself.

The thing that stood out to Talia during her scrutiny was the jewelry the man wore. Though she was an alchemist by trade, being a part of a guild meant dealing with various businesses, and she was no stranger to the sight of many kinds of crafted goods. The ones he wore were... Shoddy, to say the least. Nothing a noble would wear or an artisan would make. Those were clearly the work of untrained hands. Which meant they had to be gifts from his underlings, or his women. Gifts he wore with pride, despite how they clashed with the rest of the decor. Either he was serious about helping them and wore them with pride, or it was a political move.

"Talia Belderiver. It's an honor." The sorceress introduced herself with a polite bow, matching the man's stoicism with her own. This was Weiss's show, so she'd let the cleric do the talking. Still, she paid careful attention to the man, curious to see his reaction to the group beyond flirting. What would he say? What would he do? It was impossible to judge him accurately yet, so she had to wait and see it with her own eyes. This mission was proving to be the most complex so far and she'd rather not make any unnecessary blunders. Plus, she wanted to know what sort of sights he had to share with them.

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

"There is no need to bow, Talia. I do not consider myself better than you by default." he declared. "I suppose that look in your eyes wants me to get right down to business. So, I shall. I said I had something to show you that you wanted to see, and I hope I wasn't lying." He declared, gently pulling an arm free from one of the girls catering to him to touch the bronze bracer on his right arm, drawing it off and showing them what lay underneath. Twas a set of perfectly intact chains, identical to their own. "Does this interest you?" he asked simply.

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

"Well. The mark of a hero descendant. If I said it wasn't of interest, I'd be lying." Talia blinked. Now this one, she did not see coming. Then again... A lot of things seemed to be revolving these days around the chained and unchained alike, for obvious reasons. "Your story is not a simple one, isn't it? Not that anything seems to be here. The deeper we delve into this situation, the more suprises we seem to be coming across, on all sides no less."

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Laya chuckles. "Laya. And every bard is both a storyteller and songwriter both, as every song is a story, and any story can be told in song. Assuming the bard's talented enough anyways, hehe. Hopefully I can be good enough for this tale. Though uh, this story might be one that has a censored and uncensored version at this rate."

Laya smiled, observing the man curiously, looking at the symbol with a smile. "Interesting indeed. But as we've learned very swiftly, not all who have chains are inherently moral and those without not inherently vile. Those with chains can abuse and hurt and the unchained can simply be trying to help others and were tricked. All that says is you're not wielding Chaos' magic. Your actions and motives are still your own. The tattoo is of a chain, but we still have free will and that is what truly is the decider of villainy and heroics."

She looks around curiously. "Why not start at the beginning, friend? It's usually the best place. What brought you here? What brought you to the place you're at now? And what do you know of the knight and the gnolls? I'm curious to hear your take on it."

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

"True, I do not consider myself a saint." Garland agreed. "Some months ago, our town's Knight King was a fairly removed leader. He did as he was told by his true king. He did nothing more than be a glorified guard. But then he suddenly became militant, and forces of chaos sprung up from all over. At first, we were overwhelmed. The front gates themselves fell and the only thing that stopped the enemy was that they needed to retreat with all the men and women they captured. Then, he started a reign of tyranny, taxes went through the roof, and suffering mixed with anguish overtook the minds of this city's people. Merchants raised their prices to try and make their profit... Which is where I came in. You see, Laya. I too am a Bard. My sing song voice and inspirational words were a light in the darkness. Because my voice soothed their weary hearts, the people flocked to me. Desperate for the light. So, I decided to lead them, as it was what they wanted. When I realized what my chain meant, thanks to a kindly old sage, I decided I needed to be the hero I was apparently born to be."

"My position wasn't without it's flaws. Because my voice is so powerful, women... And some men, proclaimed their love for me. As you might be able to tell, I am not in a position to tell people no. With countless people joining my side, I had a local weaver create a symbol, in the form of the scarf you've no doubt seen. Those who wear that claim to be on my side. Anyone can wear it, which is why I say they claim to." he noted. "Anyway, I took those who joined me and waged a little war against the local rich population of the town. We couldn't fight the Knight King, but we could combat the individual men and women trying to maintain their gross profit. And so we did, forcing them to pay 'protection' fees to me and in return I will show them mercy. With the money I collected, and influence I gathered, I acquired this estate from a greedy merchant who ran from town instead of paying protection. I settled in, and now I use the money I gathered to acquire food and water and additional resources to maintain this form of common balance."

"Though, some have worn my cloth and did atrocious deeds. Like kidnapping and the like. I do not know where they take their victims, but I hear that they claim to come for the protection money and take women and children when they obviously will not pay since it was not the agreement. Now, I'm a villain to some and hero to those who know me, no doubt just like the Knight King. It does not help when I have the affection of these girls." he said, as one brushed her hand along his face and hugged his arm as if blindly adoring him. "As for the gnolls, I do what I can when they attack. This poor area is lightly guarded and often subject to attack, so I defend here where the King Knight cannot, or will not, I'm not sure. I am hoping the Knight can handle the rescue of the stolen people, because however many, I still only command peasants." he explained.

"No doubt you are here because of the portrait of villainy I have, no?" he inquired. "I happen to know this part of the city very well. And I have an idea where they might be hiding the kidnapped victims. I will provide you with a map of all the more sketchy areas of this town. A rather obvious brothel, a warehouse, and a mine on the river shore." He said, taking a spare map from a halfling girl who heard the conversation and got it for him, a twin tailed energetic one who bounced like a small dog eager to serve. He then stood up from his chair, offering it to the heroines, whoever would take it.

The heroines acquire a map of the poor district, marked with Garland's locations.

"I don't expect you to do this on your own. I'm willing to offer some of my aid, if you'd accept it. I can use my voice to give your hearts a boon, and some of my fighters to protect you. But I realize you have no reason to trust me, so I leave this offering entirely optional. Take it, if you trust me to do you well with it." he said with an earnest tone.

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Insight:

Talia listened to the story, trying to discern what was true and what wasn't. It sounded plausible and honest enough, but in the end it did contain a few things that sounded somewhat alarming. The fact that Garland outright admitted to be basically forcing business owners to pay him under threat, for example. Then again, he seemed to be a single man trying to do his best in a shitty situation. It was hardly a good solution, though finding a good one in this situation wasn't easy. Especially given Chaos's involvement in this.

"I have one question." Talia spoke up as she analyzed the map, considering the man's offer of further support. "How are we going to tell your men apart from the impostors?" She didn't fully trust his story, he could be simply using them to dispose of unruly minions. But either way, this needed to be done. That was a simple truth. And it'd be best not to antagonize the man unnecessarily. Thus, avoiding roughing up his minions would be a decent idea. "Or do you at least have someone around capable of doing so?"

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

"I never assumed anything friend. Just a ranger being a ranger is all. In my line of work it pays to be prepared or all eventualities." The ranger knew she wasn't the most suited for civilized society. Too many secrets, too many authorities trying to control or restrain people. Little room to move around. Her village was a nice happy medium and her clan would have been even more preferable. But instead, she chose to adventure and now she was caught between a conflict between a Knight and a charming rouge n the form of Garland. Her initial impressions of the man were fairly...positive. He was handsome to be sure and he lived a live envied and desired by any man. He had a way with words that would no doubt win over many individuals. People looking for an alternative to the King Knight that offered not only protection but opportunity for a better life and a chance to stick it to people who mistreated you. Meeting Garland seemed like it would be a unique opportunity indeed.

(Charm Roll Resist:

And boy did he lay on the charm right from the get go and he seemed to have something for each of the group. Hell, even her. Wait, what about her expression hid her charm? Her expression was just fine! Damnit...why was she letting herself slip again! This wasn't fair! She couldn't be that easily won. She coughed, trying to clear her throat and throw off the obvious blush from her face. Though she wasn't doing that good of a job at it. "You can call my Vylyra. Vylyra Colegwyn. Ranger. I can respect what's being done here, I just wish there wasn't a need for it. But that is sadly the times we live in." The ranger briefly introduced herself before she let the man speak again, explaining the full scope of the situation in the poorer districts. And it was what she expected. Merchant exploitation, overtaxing and a man stepping up to bring the system down with like minded individuals. And for the most part it seems to ahve worked. But now he's in a position where he has a band of men impersonating his own organization and using that influence to take women into a form of slavery when they can't pay "protection. While she didn't mind them shaking down corrupt individuals, Vylyra just wished it wasn't so easy to exploit innocents with the same tools they use against the corrupt.. That was something she was not ok with in the slightest. "I would hope we'll be able to tell the difference. But we can't rule out that they may have won over their victims. Getting them to think this'll benefit them in some way. We'll have to tread lightly."

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

''You’ve got to excuse us for assuming such things, but when you’re told to disarm yourselves before coming in, and threatened to be apprehended for just approaching the front gate, you can’t blame us for being a little wary.'' Weiss responded to the two women in front of the gate, after parting ways with the rest of her equipment. ''Surely you could understand our point of view.'' Weiss said before following two women holding spears further inside.

Weiss simply followed quietly while listening to the two women talk about Garland, she wasn’t fully convinced by their story, as this place looked awfully gaudy for her tastes, and even if what they were telling was the truth, he clearly was benefitting from this situation, considering he lives in a mansion surrounded by several servants. Once they were escorted towards the room Garland resided inside, the sight of him surrounded by several women and luxuries didn’t surprise Weiss one bit. Although, a lot of the luxurious looked like cheap imitations or poorly crafted gifts, and with looks like those, she wasn’t surprised that women would gather around him. ''That’s quite the compliment, but comparing a low ranking cleric like me to her grace, would be considered blasphemy to some.'' Weiss said with kind smile, though it was clear she was unaffected by his flattery. ''I must say though, I didn’t expect someone that’s called father to look as young and handsome.'' Weiss said, returning the small compliment he gave her.

[Charm result = ]
[Charm = ]

Weiss looked curiously at the chained tattoo he possessed, and it was obvious that this put Weiss instantly at ease. ''Oh, it’s good to see that you’ve not fallen for the temptations of corruption yet.'' Weiss praised him with a pleased smile.

Weiss decided to do the same as Talia and simply listened to Garland’s story before speaking up, but her expression would turn a little sour when he told them about the protection fees. ''I can’t exactly say that you’ve done the wrong thing, but I cannot say I completely approve of such methods. However, it does sound a lot better than simply murdering and stealing from common folk, who’ve already got it difficult with the high taxes.'' Weiss said with a sigh. ''It also doesn’t surprise me that some are using your cloth to do atrocious deeds, perhaps wearing a cloth in front ones face wasn’t the smartest idea for symbol, considering it might be difficult to see who’s behind the mask.'' Weiss said in a slightly berating voice. ''Anyways, we’re simply here because we want to stop the kidnappings from happening, and before vilifying you, I thought it might be better to simply talk with you first, even if it was slightly risky to do so.'' Weiss explained. ''But, before we’re going to do this thing for you, we’ve heard that an envoy of chaos had met with you, I’m curious what they’ve offered.'' Weiss asks with a rather serious tone.

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Insight:

"I have one question." Talia spoke up as she analyzed the map, considering the man's offer of further support. "How are we going to tell your men apart from the impostors?" - "Or do you at least have someone around capable of doing so?"

Garland nodded at Talia when she requested a question. He seemed to hold no prejudice towards her species. A human that would speak to her as an equal. His face and words sounded sincere and trustworthy.

"Unfortunately, that won't be easy. The only way you can probably tell is through their intentions. Those who do not act in my interests you can assume are not on my side. As for my interests, in general, it's oppression of the overly wealthy, and safe streets for the citizens within it. So anyone that is creating terror and chaos is most certainly not listening to me." he declared.

"I do have people that will likely identify some common traitors, but I fear that would wrap you up in a battle where you cannot tell one from another. I also fear that you may think me to try and overwhelm you, trapping you between two large forces. Because of my bad reputation that grew and festered, I don't need to squint my eyes to see the distrust in your gaze. So, that is what I offer, if only because I wish to help you."

"You can call my Vylyra. Vylyra Colegwyn. Ranger. I can respect what's being done here, I just wish there wasn't a need for it. But that is sadly the times we live in." - "I would hope we'll be able to tell the difference. But we can't rule out that they may have won over their victims. Getting them to think this'll benefit them in some way. We'll have to tread lightly."

"Vylyra. It sounds like your parents loved you dearly. I'm happy to hear that your life between worlds was possibly a happier one. Not all half-elves can claim the same." he stated. "Just be careful, and mind where you stand in the streets. I highly doubt you will be attacked out in the open, I'm sure someone would help you. But inside an establishment where all may be corrupt? I would advise knowing where you step before you walk there. Not that I doubt your prowess. I just don't think your abilities should be carelessly tested." he said.

Weiss said:
''You’ve got to excuse us for assuming such things, but when you’re told to disarm yourselves before coming in, and threatened to be apprehended for just approaching the front gate, you can’t blame us for being a little wary.'' - ''Surely you could understand our point of view.''

"They're good guards, vigilant and determined. But they're also overprotective. I apologize on their behalf. When I needed someone to take arguably the most dangerous task, I could think of none other than them, who looked ready to face ambush and whatever danger come over the horizon to face me." he explained.

Weiss said:
''That’s quite the compliment, but comparing a low ranking cleric like me to her grace, would be considered blasphemy to some.'' - ''I must say though, I didn’t expect someone that’s called father to look as young and handsome."

Garland smiled and chuckled a bit. "Rank is something I cannot understand, so you'll have to forgive me. I gave you respect for your choice of faith, nothing more. And... Thank you. Though the reason I'm called father is similar to why the head of a church is called that. The people view me as some kind of angel, or savior. So, they tacked that on of their own whim. At least my ill reputation has not rendered me Evil Garland, or Lord Garland. I'll accept Father over those." he chuckled.

Weiss said:
''But, before we’re going to do this thing for you, we’ve heard that an envoy of chaos had met with you, I’m curious what they’ve offered.''

Garland went silent when she mentioned the envoy of Chaos. He put his elbows on the arms of the seat he sat upon, and crossed his fingers together to form a rest for his face to sit upon. He seemed to think about his answer deeply. "I was offered nothing, merely threatened. I sit in a place where I am not wanting, and that apparently does not sit well with Chaos or the woman who came to me. So, for not breaking my chain, I was threatened with a prophecy that the Knight King would seek to snuff me out. That the two of us would cross swords and he would charge me as a criminal for the deeds those of my garb commit. Because I did not join Chaos, she claimed that the Chaos to unfold would consume me." he declared. "... And when the king first reared his head, and slaughtered some of my people, I then saw another Envoy of Chaos appear, another girl dressed differently than last time. She offered me a second chance to reconsider, before my foolishness caused the death of more..."

Garland went silent for a time, before continuing again. "I told her I wished to delay my answer, and decided to desperately find comfort in the sage I once met who told me of my destiny. There, I found her in the exact same place as last. She removed the garb that had once covered her face, and laughed at me with the same face that told me to join Chaos on that very first day." his voice became shaky, as if the retelling obviously disturbed him. "Her grin was nothing but evil amusement. I was but a tool in the end. For what purpose, I do not know. But the whole time, my becoming like this was Chaos' intention. So now, I seek to undo the Chaos. If I can establish Order, then I can cast out their jaws holding so close to my neck." he explained, his face grew red, as if the memory was truly bothersome.

"But, before I gave in, she declared that it was better my chain remain unbroken. I don't know what changed, but she seemed fine with it... That is all." he declared, ending his story on that note. "So, yes, I have met with Chaos. Their force deep rooted in this city or so it seems. Which is why I ask for your help. She uses my love for my people against me, and won't be satisfied until the whole city is engulfed in Chaos. I will support you, as best I can. Just say the word." he declared.

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

(15+3 vs Charm)

Laya smiles and curtsies. "Laya. And trust me, I know how it is when a bard get's caught up in the story themselves. Can be a right pain sometimes."

She listened to the story with a frown, pacing a bit. "Hm. A civil war between you and the government would certainly cause chaos and make you both easy pickings. And honestly I wouldn't be surprised if the knight himself is of Order still too and she wants you both to destroy each other. And while one group strikes the other her other forces can prepare to take out the victor. Still, it's a bit concerning that chaos can pretend to be sage's so simply. Our own sage has disappeared herself..."

Laya grimaces a bit. "You two will need to come together and create a united front I believe. First we need to purge those abusing your symbol. You and your own forces need to openly and publicly condemn slavery and any of those who do so do not do it in your name, while we save the kidnapped individuals. Then you both need to sit down and work out a solution. Getting him to deal with price gougers abusing the situation shouldn't be that hard since it also actively harms his own forces even if it's not illegal. A possible option is allowing you a ministerial position to handle the civil duties so he can focus on the military handling of the situation at large."

She hummed a bit as she paced. "The only complication is chaos is holding control of his family over his head. We need to ensure that they are kept safe, or at least, away from gnolls until we can deal with the compulsion. Given the incredible powers Chaos holds, that might be difficult... Kinda odd that Order seems to lack that sort of thing. Besides you anyways. All our powers seem to be immortality based."

She grunts, "In any case, priority will be first dealing with the cancer within before we can focus in on the danger on the outside. Possibly these kidnappers are related to the gnolls and we can get a better picture of what Chaos is after here afterwards."

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

(Charm Resist roll: Pass)

Kat certainly didn't mind the man's comments, but her heart was taken by a certain lizardman so she managed to resist Garland's charms. She was rather intrigue at the mention of another dogbold though, she hadn't really ever ran into much of her kind. they were pretty rare around here. "Maybe I could meet her? Haven't been able to talk to another in years." She'd ask, though soon enough he'd give them a map.

It rather suprised her that he was so helpful. She thought he'd be much less assisting, though at the same time he did seem to be trying to be good, or at least, good to those that worked with him. Having some people ruining his image was bad for him as well as for everyone else, or this was all a trap nad he wanted to capture them somewhere else. Still possible but for the moment she at least would give him the benefit of the doubt. Especially given how he seemed to not like chaos. If he was telling the truth then he'd be really useful, and well, that also meant that chaos had a better grip here then they might have thought. Really, why couldn't politicians be honest more often and not fall to horrible cults.

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Garland thought about Laya's info. "So, it seems Chaos has done well to seep their corrupted roots into every asset of the city. We must all be extra cautious then. If they are in that much control, then there's no telling what danger awaits us." he replied. "Either way I'd advise you all to make haste. If the front door of these establishments does not suit you, the very same dog-girl knows her way around the sewer system. It's not a glamorous route, but it's less guarded than the front doors of these places. It's also somewhat dangerous as I hear some gnolls and other creatures like to lurk around down there, specifically this poor district as the higher end areas have their sewer entrances far more guarded. Be careful."

Then, he asked for said dog girl to be brought forth. When she appeared, he introduced her. "Everyone, this is Lula. Lula, these are my guests." he pointed his hand to with dog ears and a tail, she also had freckles on her breasts and face, as if she were a walking fetishist's dream.

"Howdy, yall." she greeted the group with an accent more common from where they hailed. "Name's Lula. Momma had me on the farm down south after a gnoll got her. Momma and pappa didn't know if the baby was his or the creature's, but decided to keep me when I came out sorta human. Guess papa's genes got mixed in!" she chuckled. "Came to tha city after they passed, n'Garland here took me in after some rich women threw random shit at me. Then I rubbed aaalll over him with mah scent~" she explained.

Garland nodded. "She's loyal and friendly, but you may need to control the amount of noise she makes. She likes to... Vocalize." he warned them.

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Weiss quietly listened to Garland explanation on what the envoy of chaos was doing here, during his explanation, Weiss’ expression soured when he told them he’d given in to their threats. ''That’s quite the story, and a rather unfortunate ending.'' Weiss said, before frowning at Garland. ''I’m rather disappointed that you gave in, instead of fighting to the bitter end, but considering what they’ve done, I suppose you felt like you had no other choice.'' Weiss said, before wondering why they would keep his chain intact. ''I’m worried that they kept your chain intact though, but considering certain things the knight king said it doesn’t seem like chaos is playing the short game here.'' Weiss said concerned, as she had a few ideas why they would keep his chain intact, one was so he could lull other heroes in a false sense of security, which greatly worried her.

Weiss tilted her head slightly when Laya mentioned the civil war. ''That might be one of the few things they’re planning, but my assumptions are probably a lot worse than just civil war, if chaos even wants a civil war to happen.'' Weiss responded to Laya’s assumption. ''I understand that having your enemy tear themselves apart is preferable over fighting them, but from what the knight king said the gnolls already had won the war. What confuses me the most is why chaos would grant them a way to fight back against their servants?'' Weiss said concerned before turning towards Garland. ''And that brings me to my request, I’m of the honest opinion that the knight king is on the road towards self-destruction, as he’s currently using a cursed weapon without any self-control or hesitation. I want you to find out as much information about this weapon and a cure for the curse he possesses, if it’s not too rude to ask this from you, because I’m convinced that that weapon will lead to the downfall of the city, or at least will play a role in it, and with your large information network I hope you’re able to tell us more about it.'' Weiss requested with a bow, before looking up with a smile. ''Of course, in return I’ll happily assist you in making these streets a safer place.''

After Weiss said her part, they got introduced to the one who would escort them through the city, or rather the sewers. Although Weiss loathed the idea of traveling through the sewers, Garland might be right that it would be wiser to do so, considering they lacked a way to stealthily approaching anything with her and her heavy equipment traveling with them. ''Don’t worry about it Garland, I highly doubt any of us mind that.'' Weiss said before introducing herself to the dog girl with a small bow. ''I’m Weiss, a servant of Eldath, pleased to meet you, and don’t worry, as long as you’re with us I’ll make sure that nobody treats you like that.'' Weiss reassured her.
