I know how2maptool, but the only really difficult part is the macros. I can work with you if you want, and try to answer as many questions as I can.
But it will help if you get the basics out of the way, so that I can tell you more complicated stuff and you'll be able to understand. These videos should help. Watch these, and any questions further, hopefully I can answer.

Hopefully you won't have to fiddle with Macros due to Pathfinder's popularity. Someone released a framework for PathFinder, and I suggest you check it out.
