Thanks! The quality of the translation isn't good as usual, but hey, always better then nothing. Now I'll wait for your partial then I'll play it. Can't wait.

Translation quality is shit because of the way the wrote the sentences. I'm not sure if it's the japanese characters but whenever you copy paste one of their sentences to google translate, it offers auto-correction. If you press for google to fix it then the translation makes much more sense. I don't know if there's any way to automate the whole process so you don't have to copy paste every single line to understand what they're saying.

I've had the same problem with partial translation and the only way to really understand what's going on was to copy/paste to google, correct it, translate it and put it back in the game.

Besides that problem, variables aren't showing nor actor names. Instead of actor names, you will see \N[1]. One way to deal with that would be substitute \N[1] for Homura, \n[2] for Kippei and so on.

Partial will allow for better understand of game mechanics but story will still be a problem until someone translates it.

Yeah, it looks like a little mess. I don't think anyone will have the guts to translate this but we'll see. How's the partial going?

I didn't touch it for couple of days now. Translated whole UI.

~ progress:

97% item names
50% item description
100% enemy names
3% skill usage message
100% UI

I've had to redo the translation from scratch 3-4 times because of the way this game was made. Now I took another approach to this whole thing. Instead of translating the actual item name, I just made if-elseif-else loops to check what's the item name and then display English translation. This way I don't mess up scripts that function on Japanese item or character names. This game is definitely on of the hardest games I've done partial for. It's very script dependant and just translating one actor name can disable events or items to work properly.

It's going along nicely, I'd say. I didn't think you'd have translated the skill too. Anyway, keep up the good work! I'm looking forward to it!

There's some adversity that deny you to make it? as a very troublesome programming task, or because the full translation is a really big and complex work?

I don't do full translations in general.

This game, in particular, had many problems. At first, it was the font and now that I've sorted the English font, and now the problems are custom scripts that work based on Japanese names of actors and characters meaning that if you translate for example Japanese name for the main actor to Homura, half of the scripts won't work/trigger. You won't get any errors but scripts just won't work. This could result in the player not being able to trigger certain events that might make you get stuck because you wouldn't be able to use an item or open a door.

It's possible to extract the text os the game and translate it? we can send the original text paired with the translated meaning to the Sakuraprin, some time they said that not translated this game to english yet because they not knows anything about english, and they was very receptive with this idea.
we send the original and the translated texts and sakuraprin will have the work of insert it in the game. what you think?

Even they will have trouble replacing Japanese text with English for the reasons I stated above.

Do you really have to replace the text in the text boxes and menus? Is it possible to leave the untranslated text in the background while you put your translated text into new text boxes that will render over the untranslated text?

It's on hold at the moment.

I started working on FT of Sarah 2 and now Sarah so...

60-70% of item descriptions are untranslated and 60% combat messages.

UI is fully translated and all item names and ~30% item description.

It could do some testing so I'll release it but bear this in mind. Unlike any games I've worked on, this one was so complicated to translate due to it having tons of scripts that work based on Japanese item/character names.

I found a way to bypass it but I haven't played the game yet and since these scripts won't crash the game it's almost impossible to know if something isn't working right if you haven't played the Japanese version of the game and know what you're supposed to be doing.

If you plan on playing the game, give me some feedback after you played it so I know if it's working or not.

The way I translated this game was to leave everything in Japanese so the scripts work but to translate text at the moment it's displayed on the screen. So while you see on-screen English translation inside the code everything is still in Japanese. That should make scripts work 100%, unless there are some bugs still left from the original author.

I'll give it a try but yeah, I've never played the game before, so I'll try to follow the walkthrough I've found here. I'll let you know if I find something...odd.

Maybe I will give it a go too.

One thing is for sure, Atlas is absolutely useless here, even with that hookability script add-on. Zero sense. No idea why. Anyway...
I advise ITH + TA with google, and reselecting the sentences by highlighting them without the \f* 'name references' in the ITH window- then google TL in TA most of the times gives somewhat readable sentences.

Or substitutions in TA/TAH for those, yeah, I guess. RegEx would be the best, I reckon. But that's way above my head lol...

For the items like the bug spray and the rosary, are they single use? or do they function like accessories and are used multiple times? Super stoked its getting translated, thank you very much for your hard work XD...guess id better re-read those walkthroughs again

If I remember right they are reusable, but they take up inventory space so they can be a burden if you hold onto many items like that.

Now that I saw this thread again, I might as well update the translation with the new link.

New update doesn't translate anything new but rather fixes a serious bug which made it impossible to kill the last boss.

This v2 of the translation should now fix that bug.
