"Vhile zis is true, my dear Eliza, it iz also true that we might learn the loyalty of our fellow councilors better if each has had a chance to govern, even if that risks more oppressive policies going through. Of course, Xenia might also believe zat I was lying, or she herself might be a fascist plotting to overthrow our democratically elected government... We do not know for sure, and for now can only hazard guesses."

"Vahn - ze initial play of a double liberal policy does not in und of itself prove zat Frauline Emelie is a liberal. In zis sort of situation, it vould be quite reasonable for Fascists to hide behind early liberal plays. Zat is not to say zat I suspect Emelie any more zan anyone else, it is just important to note zat she is by no means clear. I vould put much more stock in a person who delivered ze fourth liberal policy zan the government who provides ze first, Ja?
