ACT [SMAVERICK] Virus Z RE183220 RJ183220

Re: [SMAVERICK] (RJ183220) Virus Z

Yup, deleting the folder in the registry got rid of my save file, but running your registry file didn't add a save or anything.

I should probably just edit the values of gold and stats and go through the game on easy.

Maybe your save is located another path. I was like this HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\AppDataLow\Software\NobleG\Virus-Z
I modified save from monomulti, try it.

Worked, thanks.

Also, it is best to check where your old save is before doing anything. Pathways may be different.

For example, the original was as listed, you can go into edit of the file and see that HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\AppDataLow\Software\NobleG\Virus-Z extension up top.

For me my save was actually HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\NobleG\Virus-Z

Located there. You will notice something is wrong if you go look and see two floating extensions in registry.

In this case, if the one provided of full save doesn't work, delete it. Go back to the file. Open up notepad and change the extension, then add it again.

Re: [SMAVERICK] (RJ183220) Virus Z

Excuse me guys, I don't know how to use this registry? Where can I find HKEY_CURRENT_USER?

Re: [SMAVERICK] (RJ183220) Virus Z

Use the file from monomulti before, otherwise you need to run REGEDIT and dig some.

modifying Monomulti's file might be easier, just find the right path for you by looking at the registry and mass replace the file paths.

As a rule, I don't usually mind when one game "borrows heavily" from another. Its a decent chance you end up with something of value.

This game adds no value. In fact, it made my morning demonstrably worse, putting us at a net negative value so far.

I stopped playing after I missed a zombie with a melee attack that clearly should have connected, and was then struck by that zombie with a melee attack that was clearly not long enough to touch my character. The hitboxes are so bad its like the sprites were resized but the damage and collision data were left alone.

Hey developers, Pro Tip. Don't include a melee attack and then punish the player for trying to use it.

Final Score: Hostile indifference.

Re: [SMAVERICK] (RJ183220) Virus Z

The blatant "inspiration" from PiC has been very clearly noted so I won't belabor the point, but I am kinda pissed they plagiarized the DUMBEST possible aspect of PiC as well - the shitty gallery. No repeating animations, huge gaps between animations - PiC is one of the worst gallery examples in a H-game IMO and this game's copying it puts it almost as low. The implementation is slightly better though (less button presses to get new animations going) so I can't dislike that aspect as much. It's just dumb that the only way to NOT have to sit through several seconds of X enemy walking is to use the blue tentacle bot which cycles through 3 animations pretty well.

The melee is terrible as well, not that PiC had good melee either - it didn't - but this game's hitboxes are janky as fuck. There are some enemies it's extremely strong against (it hard counters the tentacle robots) but otherwise you're generally much better off staying at range and plugging away with the dinky pistol - which starts off much worse than PiC's, but doesn't have the same obnoxiously shitty aiming system, so honestly I actually don't mind it as much.

The linearity of stages is a definite downside compared to Parasite, I didn't /really/ enjoy PiC platforming but it added a sense of verticality to the game and the placement of zombies around obstacles was sometimes interesting by forcing the player to make decisions surrounding it - this game is just "walk forwards and shoot."

The H animations of both games vary in quality, but I actually like the art direction in this game about as well even if it's not quite as unique as PiC's. Multiple attractive female enemies doesn't hurt. it feels like there's a lot more variety in enemies after the first few stages whereas PiC tended to throw wayyyy too many of the basic zombies at you. This game mixes it up pretty well after earlygame so at least you're constantly fighting different stuff.

H animations are great but suffer from drawbacks in both games. Here there's no climax animation so each loop ends off very strangely with the 'freeze' but the actual animations are very fluid, PiC had infinitely better climaxes but each section of the animation was chained together very awkwardly and I felt like a lot of the second/third section animations were straight up worse than the beginning one (ex. female mechanic). Kinda similar story with the ending animations, but in reverse; PiC didn't have cycles at all in those whereas this game has (mediocre) climaxes before looping. Both had some really good ones so not a lto to say there.

Overall I feel like the game got a bit too close to PiC in many ways, which is a real shame because it's actually a pretty solid H-offering on its own that is always just gonna be "that parasite in city ripoff." If anything, I think it could have been a slightly BETTER Parasite in City if they had actually made a few alterations to terrible design choices from the original. As is though, I enjoy both games and will look forwards to the teased next game from this circle, it seems they have improved a lot over time and hopefully keep it up.

Re: [SMAVERICK] (RJ183220) Virus Z

I reached stage six.

Then checked the gallery to make sure the game had more enemies that I liked to fight. Found out that only thing left was tentacle disc and some boss.

I decided to end my play at stage five. Only because I don't like tentacle hentai.

Re: [SMAVERICK] (RJ183220) Virus Z

Anyone have a problem with the screen?
I tried to change My screen resolution several time
But the game won't fit in any of those
Tried alt+enter and still it won't fit....
I can't even see the girls feet , and it was quite a miracle I can go to 2'nd stage
Since the rock keep coming
Any option to make the screen wider?

Thanks~

Re: [SMAVERICK] (RJ183220) Virus Z

It's the closest we're going to get to more PiC though, now that PixelFactory had to go on the lamb because South Korea has gone all police state on porn.

Re: [SMAVERICK] (RJ183220) Virus Z

This game made me hate "Rolling Stones" :V

Re: [SMAVERICK] (RJ183220) Virus Z

This may be a dumb question but how do you download this game? I can't find a download link at all.

Re: [SMAVERICK] (RJ183220) Virus Z

Uh-huh. An H-game with always online DRM. If you're not connected to the internet when you run the game, it won't let you play. Makes me wonder what exactly it's connecting to, and whether someone can crack it to stop.

Didn't know about that. Based on the text, it implies that it's an update checker so the latest version is always used. My guess is that it's improperly coded and it thinks no connection = old version. I guess we'll know if that's the case when/if an update gets released.

Though it is still iffy why a fully offline h-game has to check for an update. AFAIK every other h-game developer just has people download update patches from the place they bought it.

Anyone know what Dexterity does in the stats?

That's sort of my worry. It doesn't seem rational to prevent users from playing your game if they're playing an older version, especially since it appears that this online check doesn't bother to actually get the update for you. It's either a form of DRM to prevent pirates from playing the game after it updates, or it's something darker. I'd rather not touch it until I know exactly what it's doing.

Re: [SMAVERICK] (RJ183220) Virus Z

Wow, so thematic! Even the gameplay is brain-dead.

Dex increases movement speed.
DEF decreases damage and seems to effect knockdown chances.

What you get for beating the game.
