@ Sarai
"It is Verona, not Veronica! Make sure to get it right next time!" she corrected her with a spank, before helping her wear the collar, locking it in.
"There, now that's a good girl." she nodded approvingly. "Keep being obedient and we will get along just...."
"Are you done yet? You have work to do, sluts." Nana interrupted opening the door.
~~~
"Ladieees~ and gentleeemen! Welcome!" the announcer started with a magnetic voice, as the racers assembled at the starting line, with the crowd cheering.
"We all know that is happening here today! It's theeeeee DEATHMATCH!"
"If you ask me, it should be called DEATHRACE instead..." the second announcer noted.
"the contestants will have to risk their life, your entertainment...and some prizes!" he explained, before going on to present all the prizes one by one, with the second announcer dropping some cringy comedic notes here and there.
~~~
"Uh, lets hope someone from the team gets third place...you always wanted a mouse droid...right?" Tris smirked.
~~~
"Now lets introduce our contestants!"
"Starting with the one and only Ruben Robal! Now that's a face some of you might remember...he is sponsored by Shieldspeed!"
"Well, lets hope he won't die here...I knew his mom, practically he is like my son..." the second announcer mused.
"Hah, I am afraid you will be in trouble for saying that. Shieldspeed makes the best deflector shields for speeders and other vehicles. I doubt Ruben is at any real risk here!" the first announcer shamelessly advertised, for some extra income.
"Jeela you all remember for winning the last time...she is also sponsored by Shieldspeed, so it isn't a real surprise."
"Hello Jeela, that was a fun night! Call me later!"
"And where there are winners, there are also the underdogs...Khoan and Rita, both sponsored by TAB Unlimited!"
"I mean TAB makes some solid equipment, but to be confident enough to sponsor two random people...well, maybe they gave up, and want to show us that their items are durable even when you crush them on purpose?" the second announcer chuckled.
"And then there is JJ-Junkyard, with their usual junk. They can make miracles with garbage, always surprising us. What do they have for us this time?"
"Well, the way I see it they pick up piles of scraps and turn them into smaller piles of scraps...if you know what I mean!"
"Mr Frow with his massive...ship, and Dr. Max with"
"his smaller junk.....ship, hehe..."
"Then we have GmbA Engineering...same speeders, different drivers!"
"They repair their junk, but they can't repair the drivers! Hey, that should be their motto. No need to thank me guys!"
"Ms Bubble, and Ms Alubia!"
"Wait, are they actual racers, or from those girls who make the speeder calendar pics? I can never tell..."
"And then there are those brave souls who came with their own speeders."
"Hello unlucky solo-contestants, remember to sell your broken speeders to JJ-Junkyard afterwards!"
"Sella, Ellie, Sally, and Taken...wait..."
"Oh, MY. GUYS. THE SPEEDER IS CALLED COCKSUCKER. I AM NOT EVEN JOKING HERE."
"Uh..." "Well, I always knew racing could make you famous very fast...but that is an eye-opener...thank you, Taken!"
"Ok, lets move on...time to explain what the layout of the arena will be today."
"Right, right."
"Going straight ahead, the contestants will encounter the asteroid field! Some of the rocks are real, floating up on their repulsor pads."
"And others are simply holo-projections! Who said that you can't gamble while racing, huh!"
"Not only that, but one of the rocks may be secretly loaded with explosives...I am not sure either!"
"Oh, come on, you are joking...right? RIGHT?"
"The replusor pads were sponsored by..."
Meanwhile, Sarai would see a massive Hutt, arriving at the VIP area with a floating platform, and moving out to rest it's huge body on one of the highest platforms.
Moments later, she would notice a second Hutt doing the same, sitting nearby. She couldn't hear what they were talking about, but she could feel a chill. More importantly, they could see the entrance of the ship from their seats...she would need to distract them, if she wanted to have a chance of going inside the ship unnoticed. The tattoos were good, but they wouldn't make her invisible...
Complexity 3, CL 2 (You need 11 successes before 3 failures, DCs 14-32)
Rules:
- Every turn you will roll a pilot check first. This is not part of the skill challenge, it is just to know who is first second etc. Depending on your position you will have different options. You can choose to lower your position on purpose too.
- Skills that don't directly contribute to surviving or clearing the challenge don't count towards the skill challenge.
Ship damage: Your speeder may become damaged during the race.. You can choose to take +1 failure, to avoid the damage as long as you have less than 3 failures. You can remain in the skill challenge afterwards, and you may continue gaining successes or failures. If you manage to remove the failures before your speeder is destroyed, then you are good to go. (Also see Jury-rig rules)
Opposed DC: Sometimes you will have to roll against your opponents instead of a set DC.
Recovery: If you succeed a check by 5 or more, you can choose to remove one failure instead of getting a success
Raja:
-You can aid an other at both Taken and Salvie with perception checks
-You can directly aid with other things, like a move object, to directly help (and it will count as if you participated in the race).
-You can leave the skill challenge any time you want
Every turn I will highlight your options, but maybe they aren't the only ones available.
You are at the starting line. As the 'go' signal sounds, roll the first pilot check!
It is much more straight forward! You have to sneak in the ship!
However there is a catch: Your DCs depend on how distracting the race is, or how you have proceeded thus far. If you have arranged someone to distract the Hutts, and you are already lurking around at the top area, getting in the ship will be a piece of cake. You could also try to sneak up right from the start, but the DCs will be much, much higher!
"Here, drink this." Nana offered, popping a purple pill into a shot glass with some liquor, and pushing it towards Sarai.
"And then take those drinks at table 2." she continued, giving her a serving disk with some drinks on it.
Luckily the orders were made with the power of the technology, so all she had to do was to go get the drinks there, and bring back some generous tips...
