The mountains and the forests(Kagura/Guan Yu)

Re: The mountains and the forests(Kagura/Guan Yu)

"Sure. It'll take a while unless you take it to a smithy, though. Working metal with magic is pretty hard." Charlie replies as the fox-spirit leads them into the cave. It is furnished with crude chairs, a table and a bed. There are piles of things - clothing, bags, bones - laying around. On the table is a large basket full of meat of questionable origin, and when Kagura gets deeper into the cave, she spots a trio of barrels at the back, no doubt filled with booze. After some digging around, the fox comes up with a wooden charm of some sort, and puts it around its neck before starting to transform into a humanoid form.

Re: The mountains and the forests(Kagura/Guan Yu)

"Hmm, right. Will keep that in mind." Kagura replied as the odd pair of girl and skull went on ahead to the lair.

The inside area was quite the stereotypical lair of an oni, similar to what stories Kagura had heard about those creatures and their behaviors. The fox know what it was looking for, and the miko kept on following what they were doing, now fully in the know that she was dealing with a kitsune of some stripe.

As the transformation finishes, the fox appears as a rather handsome, naked man with a roguish smile. "Now, what would you like as your reward?"

Re: The mountains and the forests(Kagura/Guan Yu)

Seeing the naked foxtail man made Kagura turn away as she was still fairly uncomfortable around these kinds of situations, though it did not stop her from discussing matters. It would just be done in a manner that she would be comfortable with, even if it took her looking to a different direction the entire time. "Well I would like if you got dressed a bit. This is not... the most desirable situation." she initially stated, but would go on to ask if the kitsune man had skills in combat and tell him about the building she had escaped from and what was going on there. She would explain how she got into the state she was in too if asked for it.

Re: The mountains and the forests(Kagura/Guan Yu)

"Surely I'm not that ugly to your eyes," the fox laughs, moving to massage Kagura's shoulders. "Besides, strangely enough the oni didn't keep any clothes in my size... well, not ones that aren't covered with blood, anyway. I'm not much of a warrior, but I can handle myself and of course, I've got a few extra tricks to help." He pauses for a moment when Kagura asks about the mansion.

"It used to belong to the Jakrin family - a bunch of assholes, to be honest. Anyway, some 500 years ago one of them had the bright idea to perform a summoning because they had gotten too many enemies to win in a fair fight. A big one, at that, using a priestess as a human sacrifice. None among the living knows what they wanted to summon, but what they got was a big, bad demodand. The entire family was there for it, and they were killed - some slower than others. Many of the servants managed to escape. As luck would have it, though, this particular demodand is obsessed with art and didn't immediately start rampaging around the countryside. Apart from occasionally luring people into the manor, it doesn't seem to particularly care about the outside world, so everyone mostly leaves it alone."

Re: The mountains and the forests(Kagura/Guan Yu)

"No, it's not that... just a thing about modesty." Kagura replied as she felt being a bit rude about having said what she had. The shoulder rub did not appear to be a gesture that was bad in any way, so the miko did not make any hassle of it as the fox fellow shared what he knew about the manor and the history of the people who previously owned it. If the ghosts who the miko had dealt with were of the owning family, she would not disagree with the whole asshole part of the story, considering everything she had gone through and was now hearing about.

All in all, it did not appear that Kagura would be able to make any meaningful moves towards the manor just yet. "So it's not going to be enough to have just you around. I'll need to find other people to help with this too. That place needs to be put to rest."

Re: The mountains and the forests(Kagura/Guan Yu)

"I guess we're going on a quest, then. It will take quite a powerful priest or wizard to do the banishment, got anyone in mind?" The fox says with amused tone, continuing the massage.

Re: The mountains and the forests(Kagura/Guan Yu)

"Did not expect you to come along just like that, but the gesture is certainly welcomed and respected." Kagura replied as she heard the fox's desire to join her on this weird little quest of hers. "No, I'm not really sure as to who would be the one to look for. I'm a small-town priestess, never really had much contact to any bigger names of my faith." she informed him, not really having much idea towards where to find a stronger caster to help them along as her shoulders were rubbed some more.

Re: The mountains and the forests(Kagura/Guan Yu)

"There's an old wizard a couple villages over, hiding in the forest. He'll probably take quite a bit of convincing, though. Might be easier to find a priestess." the fox replies, moving onto massaging Kagura's back.

Re: The mountains and the forests(Kagura/Guan Yu)

"If he's that bad, might want to not try him then I suppose. But another priestess..." Kagura ponders those options, having some thoughts about it now that she had been presented a few possible choices to go with. She was not completely ruling the wizard man out just yet, but was considering that a priestess might be the better one to go by if they could convince one to come along and help with the purification. "And just what are you doing?" she eventually asked the fox, not being sure if she like where he was going with his hands.

Re: The mountains and the forests(Kagura/Guan Yu)

"Well, I don't keep up with clergy, but you ought to be able to find one powerful enough somewhere. Might take a while, though." the fox replies, before running a finger down Kagura's spine. "You feel tense. Would you rather I do this?" the fox slips his hands around Kagura and pulls her into a hug.

Re: The mountains and the forests(Kagura/Guan Yu)

"Of course I'm tense. Just barely escaped from a rape house, and I don't have any of my belongings with me, and I'm still in the middle of the wilderness. What do you expect, I'm not used to something like this." Kagura replied, not having much cause to stop the hugging as she did not feel it was malicious even now, though she was always a bit suspicious about prolonged touching.

Re: The mountains and the forests(Kagura/Guan Yu)

"Well, we'd better get around to fixing that, then. Right after seeing if there's any good loot here." Letting go of Kagura, the kitsune does a quick search of the cave, turning up some shiny stones and a length of rope. "Ah well, they can't all be winners."

Re: The mountains and the forests(Kagura/Guan Yu)

Kagura's words seemed to have some effect as she was released from the huggles, the kitsune apparently wanting to make her feel better, or at least that was how she interpreted it. The two of then move along, but the foxman did most of the searching, the loot from the oni not being impressive to say the least. "Apparently not. Let's hope that this might serve a purpose." she said as she looks at the rope to see if it has enough length to be used for any practically purpose. The rock looks like deadweight, so she did not care for those, but if there was enough rope to go with, she would take it along for the coming trip into the wilderness and hopefully civilization sooner than later.

Re: The mountains and the forests(Kagura/Guan Yu)

The rope is about 10 meters in length and seems sturdy enough to serve whatever purpose Kagura would put it into. Being finished in the cave, the kitsune shifts back into his fox form, waggles his tail at Kagura and leaps into the forest, starting to lead Kagura towards civilization, cheering leaping and bounding ahead while making sure to stay in sight.

Re: The mountains and the forests(Kagura/Guan Yu)

There actually was a good bit of rope to go with, so Kagura rolled it up to a coil and hoisted the roll onto her shoulder before they moved up, carrying Charlie on the same hand where she had the coil and her weapon on the other. There was no need to carry it with two hands, so she would go as she was unless there was trouble, in which case she would be able to quickly set the rope and sentient skull aside before properly wielding her bladestick with both hands. This was how she would following the now fox form kitsune, who was now remaining at sight all the time.

Perhaps the fox does something, or perhaps its just luck, but there are no more difficulties and in surprisingly short time, the pair arrives to the outskirts of the village, and the fox falls to Kagura's side, walking with her into the village as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

Re: The mountains and the forests(Kagura/Guan Yu)

The remaining trip was shorter than expected, some possibility of foxy tinkering coming to mind as Kagura had not really imagined that she would be in town quite this fast. But it did not matter, it was really better this way, so she went right on in. She was probably a fairly bizarre sight in her spider clothing and the various things in her possession, which happened to include a skull. Hopefully this would not make the villagers fear her, as they might mistake her for some crazed hermit coming out from the woods. The miko was back to civilization now, but still had some concerns as she was still without money and in need of some basic items, shoes being the top concern as she was not too keen on the idea of taking too many more walks in the wilderness while bare foot. Another uniform would be nice too, the lack of them almost feeling like she had lost her identity along with the clothes, but that was probably too much to ask at the moment so she was not too hopeful.

Thinking it might be the best option, Kagura decided to visit the local faith figures first.

Re: The mountains and the forests(Kagura/Guan Yu)

Though Kagura gets odd looks, no-one stops her until she gets to the shrine. Inside, she finds Tsuki drinking tea by the altar. The petite woman with black hair stands up to greet her guest. "Hello Kagura. What brings you here?"

Re: The mountains and the forests(Kagura/Guan Yu)

The shrine, now that Kagura made it there, was actually a familiar one. She had been here a few times before, it was the neighboring village she was in actually, just not having recognized it up to now as it had been a while since she had been here last. The miko really did not move around as much, which was one of the things that had prompted her to go out on a journey. At the shrine area, she found Tsuki, who was a familiar face to her, yet Kagura did not really know about how capable she was when it came to battle or purification. "Heya Tsuki, it's been a while. Why I'm here is a bit of a story. Short version is, decided to go out into the world, see what could be done. Got into some bad trouble in a mansion that is some distance away from here. Lucky that I even got out." she told the story in the short way as she took a seat near Tsuki, not wanting the other to stop having a nice tea just because she was there.
