Trapped in the Underdark ~ Out of Character discussion

Re: Trapped in the Underdark ~ Out of Character discussion

I'll settle for you convincing the mindflayers that they need to stop mindfucking us.

Not that any stat means much when slave collar magic is in place.

EDIT: Okay, welp. Kaila and Vel now know where the blade is. Hopefully that helps somehow. Now just gotta get the door open. Any bright ideas? Like asking for mindflayer cock? I'm sure some of them must be dying to use the lust addled slaves...

Not saying this wouldn't work. :p

Anyway, I'll let Mindflayer(no the admin one) get a fluff in before Molesting the delicioiusly submissive elf more. Also, Lior is slowly if accidentially finding her way to you, if she doesn't get distracted. ^^

Re: Trapped in the Underdark ~ Out of Character discussion

Alright, i'm going to roll a sense motive check for Xirce, to see why she's acting under a facade, if that's applicable.

Roll

Result 24

Thats a too specific use of Sense motive, what exactly are you looking for?

Re: Trapped in the Underdark ~ Out of Character discussion

@Deva

How resistant am I allowed to get away with IC? My gut feeling is that Lior's not going to be super excited about the 'flayer's suggestion because of the lack of answers to the growing pile of questions in the back of her head. With the debuffs, it leaves Lior a bit dumb but rather willful.

I'm not sure if my player bias is affecting that conclusion though, your thoughts?

Rp with what you are comfortable with. ^^

I want to get insight to why she's acting differently when talking directly toward me as opposed to her acting all sweet and innocent when speaking common.

Re: Trapped in the Underdark ~ Out of Character discussion

Oh I can explain that. Abyssal doesn't have any kind words in it. So you're basically using one of the two languages of evil incarnate.

Incidently that's part of why vel and Kaila don't use Abyssal with non-demons generally. Most mortals can't contextualize in a language that alien, that lacks any words or concepts for things like kindness, love, rights, respect for life and so on. At least not conveyed in a way that doesn't treat them as utterly inferior and laughable concepts anyways.

Celestial probably doesn't have any curse words :p.

Re: Trapped in the Underdark ~ Out of Character discussion

Exactly, I do expect you somewhat represent a language adequately. A dwarf wouldn't have a plethora of terms to describe trees, or more than two or three words for different shades of red, but more words for ale or mining than a human would think possible, whilest elves are the complete opposite.

Obviously there is some leeway, but it gets more extreme the more 'remote' a language. For example you can't just casually say 'hey, how are you doing old chum!' in Abyssal, while anything water related is propably a swearword in ignan, the fire elemental language.

Roleplaying languages can also give your character some interesting depth (well, if you don't try to be a dabus or somesuch), so I usually encourage my players to use them. The best example is Mechanus, everyone can speak the language of the Modrons, but not everyone, which in this context refers to all creatures currently or in the forseeable future capable of expressing themselfs through verbal means posess the ability to talk in such a manner as a creature of pure law, e.g. an exemlpar of Lawful neutral alignment, would.

Unrelatedly:
one of the two languages of evil incarnate.

Arguably theres a bunch more depending on how many sourcebooks you wanna throw at people.

This whole thing reminds me of a time playing a quarter-celestial who indeed struggled to insult people, Celestial insults would be something like 'I think you are definitly not as good a person as you could be and I vehemently disagree with your opinion!'

Well yeah, but off base there's just Infernal and Abyssal so unless other languages get brought up I'm generally just going off the base ones. I mean technically gnoll is a language. And has one word for work and 27 words for slave!

Re: Trapped in the Underdark ~ Out of Character discussion

Oh... huh. I guess the scenario makes sense now. Anyway, I'll be home in a while. I will respond shortly.

Edit: scratch that, will respond tomorrow.

I'm writing up my next post and god I'd love to work for the mindflayers. Like they're pressing all my buttons as a player and it'd fit Lior's theme of subjugating worship so well. And think of all the interesting tentacley powers that comes from worshiping an elder brain or whatever eldritch entity they have in this canon. And the slimy TFs that come with it! And happily mind wiping other slaves~ A little bimbo priestess who wants to start a mindflayer cult.

I just gotta say, you're doing good stuff with them Pervy. Good enough that it's really really tempting to make Lior lose just for that sweet bad end. I understand it'd be detrimental to the campaign as a whole but I can still fantasize...

Re: Trapped in the Underdark ~ Out of Character discussion

Abyssal is more fun that Infernal, but less of a challenge to role play. The latter is meant to be strict, with only one way to say a particular concept. A poet's bane of a language. (Maybe High Infernal is different, but you need to be an archdevil to understand it).

Why thank you, perhaps you can seduce the other players over to their side too? :p

Hmnn.. Well in theory we -could- write a bad end for Lior and you join in as a new character, perhaps one of Ventus servants or a character abandoned by another, if you wanna take a looksie.

My point is, who says there couldn't be gameovers for the players? :p Campaign is made for you, so if thats what you want.. glad I got things so riled up, without even using much of the final villain stock yet.

I'ma wait for your response before going on IC. ^^

Anywhoo, on the language front, Abyssal is, in some sources, just a perversion of Infernal, and devils would see it the exact opposite way, such a chaotic language, you never know what they are trying to say..

I've played exemplars of pretty much all alignments, personal favourite is a strong CG, CN, maybe TN sometimes. But we'll see where the campaign goes. ^^

Re: Trapped in the Underdark ~ Out of Character discussion

Ahhhhhhhh! That's a hard choice! I'd have to go with keeping Lior from reaching a bad end just yet. I have so many high hopes for her. (Though if it was a situation where she came back as an antagonist I'd have to re-evaluate my decision. Like where she was working for them rather than a mindless thrall set up.)

That said, permanent effects, triggers, transformations, etc. are very welcome! My goal for Lior is to accumulate as many corrupting changes and transformations as possible, making her more in line with her goddess. I'm certain the dildo will come in handy sometime if I manage to hang onto it.

Re: Trapped in the Underdark ~ Out of Character discussion

Heh. hang onto the dildo.. errrr hmmmk. Not sure how mindflayer messups get you closer to your godess but lets see where the rp leads. Setting you up as an antagonist, while rewarding, would also be lotsa work so I'd rather not.

Re: Trapped in the Underdark ~ Out of Character discussion

Alright, just got home. I'll try to have a response tonight.

Re: Trapped in the Underdark ~ Out of Character discussion

How much gold would it cost me to make this permanent? If you'd even allow me to.

Re: Trapped in the Underdark ~ Out of Character discussion

It;s up to Pervy but this is the guidelines used in the psionic version of permanency for cost.

Re: Trapped in the Underdark ~ Out of Character discussion

Alright, making a list for future spells I want.

Does anyone in the group have items or abilities that grant Morale bonuses?
