I think if you're familiar with the game, then yes, easy, heh.

I'd say Doom but that was demons, not aliens, except in the movie.

Ahyeah, you're right. There's a game I'm trying to think of but hell if I could remember the name of it. It's something like X-Squad or something like that. For PS1, I think.

There is indeed a game called "X-Squad", for the PS2... it's a shooter, and I'd never heard of it before, so I'm sorry to say that that's incorrect. You're getting close with the name, though, and I will note that a version of this game was produced for the PS1...

Second hint: "bullets against plasma" and "missiles against UFOs" are (supposed to be) referring to two different forms of combat. In the same game, no less.

had a lot going for it-the Smash Hits are cool,
the characters are badasses, the levels are diverse,
the graphics are memorable, and the music is catchy.
Unfortunately, ruined in every other way possible.

Hope this isn't too vague/easy.

Well, "ruined" is a matter of opinion, and some people didn't like it too much. Also, I was referring to the original, which you could think of as a gimpy version of Melee. I know I do.

Well actually, he pronounces it more like the 'u' in the word "fuse". That's how an umlauted 'u' is pronounced. It's more of a "yoo" sound than an "oo" sound. There's less emphasis on the 'y-' part though. It's really a difficult sound for me to describe but it's something like that.

Sorry for taking so long to reply, No answer yet and I'm not the best with riddles, hope this narrow it down.

The game has only 3 levels, which include 2d flying scrollers, beat-um-up stages, and obstacle courses.

Fucking Cliffhanger, no wonder everything else was ruined, it was based on a shitty fucking movie.
