Gfurst Keep Not sure what causes that error. It's not related to having more than one page, I think, because I've seen it show up with only single notifications. I've also seen the same error on Hongfire which also uses vB5, so I'm going to go out on a limb and say that there's some bug in vB5 itself - perhaps only being exposed under certain circumstances (e.g. when combined with cloudflare perhaps?)
On the patch: I think I've learned that I shouldn't have used JapeTrans specific features when I hadn't finished implementing JapeTrans itself. I'm still programming it. I think one of my problems is that I try to go for "big wins" all in one go; the "big win" here is to get a tool out which can handle typesetting (i.e. automatically fitting text into the dialogue box regardless of font), because that's a big headline feature which will improve the quality of all translations going forward. In addition to making it easy to use much nicer looking fonts in general, it also enables the use of bold, italics, and other fonts. Something that may not be obvious is that many Japanese games effectively do use two fonts; regular text and Kana-only text, which is used to differentiate a different type of speech; sometimes robotic, sometimes primitive, sometimes really shouty - and the use of a single font removes this nuance completely in a game without voiceovers. Using multiple fonts is a nice way of improving the quality of the translation, e.g. Using a robotic font (

But as I've said, my failing here was using unimplemented features in the VPM patch, because it's put the patch into a position where I can't release it without doing a helluva lot of work (i.e. manually typesetting about 20% of it). I had naively assumed that the work left to do on JapeTrans would be easy and it mostly is... but there's a lot of work left to do on it, and I've had less free time than I thought. So I've managed to put myself into a situation where there's a helluva lot of work to go even though most of the translations are finished. It sucks, but all I can do is try and learn not to do it next time (although that's a bit of a catch-22 in and of itself, as the only way I could work out what features were really important was to see which hypothetical features I would actually use... Sigh.)
