Necroing, because I recently stumbled across a couple of really fun comics that I want to share.

The first is

, which is a review site for sex toys. It covers ones for women and men and it also talks about other sex related topics (like pole dancer interviews). Granted, it's a web comic, so they don't go too in-depth, but they've got a lot of links to supplement the information.

Next is one I found through OJST,

A Victorian, steampunkish webcomic about a robot and the woman who falls in love with him. You kind of have to check historical sensibilities at the door, but the art is really good and the story is adorable. And sexy. And there's no dialogue. Running since 2008 and no dialogue. Should probably put a yaoi and yuri warning up, too, even though it doesn't show up often, it's still there.

I read it quite a while back but it did make a rather large impression on me at the time so I think I can accurately remember the gist of what I'm talking about, feel free to correct me on anything I misremember or outright misunderstand.

I've read that webcomic prior, I found it offensive to my sensibilities myself being somebody who's thoroughly against cheating. It does reach a resolution of sorts, but it's all rather against and demeaning towards the scientist when it's implied that his new partner nearly ends up in the hands of the robot anyways, before the robot basically dumps her in his lap.

I find the entire character of the scientist really quite offensive myself, he's relatable enough in being a hardworking person, but he acts in a terribly unrealistic fashion in what appears to only be for the sake of glorifying the robot protagonist. It would have been pretty damn good if not for what i consider rather tripe characterization and demeaning themes for the "villainous" party.

I might be being overly harsh in that I cannot understand a highly jealous and furious man who outright turns violent, suddenly turning into a cuckold-fetishing weakling out of nowhere for seemingly no reason other than an unexplained preference for his right hand to an actual woman.

Call me a jealous fucktard if you want, but I really just find a large part of it offensive, though it has a happy ending, I still found it really unsatisfactory because of the aforementioned factors. Really spoiled the whole thing for me.

Eh, I can actually agree with you in part on that, Cappy. The jealousy does seem a little...unfounded, but then, that's jealousy. It's not always rational. It's sort of a "I did this to make my wife happy but now she's happier with him than with me, and I don't like it." They do manage to find a happy medium, though, as you said. Also, pending on how long ago you read it, in the "backstory" that's presented in 2012 (particularly the July run), it's implied that the Scientist may be bisexual with male leanings, so that might explain some of his behavior, though not all.

I'm particularly sensitive to themes of cheating and revile themes of cuckolding. I can sort of relate a bit better given the last part of what you've said, but I still largely hold a problem with the behavior he displays because I simply can't relate to it and the pain of it is still just as searing as it would have been if it HAD made sense. The art however is pretty damn good and the aesthetic is nice, some of the sex scenes would probably be pretty attractive and racey to somebody less sensitive to the themes than me, so over-all it does rate quite nicely. Cuckolding is one of the most reviled form of porn out there. Most people really really hate it. and hate it more than any other form of porn.
But as you said, even for cuckolding, there are some glaring character issues there.
than again, i get the feelings that it is played for laughes. it can't decide if it wants to be oglaf or porn. the problem is that you can't both laugh and masturbate at the same time (well, most people can't).
Also, just because it want's to be played for laughs doesn't mean its actually funny

That is the thing, he thought "this is an it, it is not a person, it is just a sex toy"
but then it turns out that chester isn't an it, but a person, and that his wife is now in love with chester over him.
he intended for it to not be cuckolding, but SCIENCE! is tricky like that

Oh... well he was reading things into my post which I never said. I never got that far and have no idea about that. Nor do my posts imply it in any way.

... oh I get it. He thinks the word person means "human" instead of "sophont". Which is ridiculous since person is not defined as a human, rather humans are an example of a being who has the traits of personhood. Even if you go as far back to the original definition developed by christian theologists in the 4th-5th century and kept on record by "the old catholic encyclopedia":

The classic definition is that given by Boethius in "De persona et duabus naturis", c. ii: Naturæ rationalis individua substantia (an individual substance of a rational nature).

Boethius is a roman and a christian martyr who was born in 480 AD

And no modern redefining of the term I have seen has tried to make it more exclusive to humans. Quite the opposite, I have seen some crazies try to broaden it to include mindless animals (no, cows are not people too)

Anyways, bottom line is, fully sophont AI are people too. (as are sophont aliens) and in my post I was referring to how the doctor was trying to create a glorified dildo and ended up with an AI instead (although apparently this is revealed later on to be wrong)

Let's see, my list... sorry for the lack of links, but haven't gotten the post count high enough yet >.<

Awkward Zombie - Various game-related topics, lots of smash bros and other nintendo comics.

NerfNow - Also gaming, mostly Dota2 and Team Fortress 2 related.

Questionable Content - Hard to describe, just funny, with the occasional WTF moment. And oddly not NSFW for the most part, considering the title.

Basic Instructions - 4-panel comics on how to do various things, from how to break bad news to how to kill off a comic character.

Shortpacked! - A comic set around the employees of a toy store of the same name. Sadly it will stop updating in about 2-4 months or so :/

Freefall - A genetically engineered "Bowman's Wolf" (think anthro wolf) joins a spaceship crew as their engineer. Hilarity ensues.

xkcd - Geekery and stick figures. Anything else would be a disservice to it.

Order of the Stick - Stick figure comic parodying D&D, among other things. Very genre savvy.

That's about all I keep up with regularly, most are just nameofcomic followed by .com or .net, other than OotS and Freefall.

I actually really liked Shortpacked! and the creator's other comics, but I've sadly decided to stop reading them as he passive aggressively inserts his political opinions into strawman characters on a basis waaay too regular for me to really forgive, and it pisses me off. Long drawn out explanation/rant hoooooo!

I could forgive the overt feminist messages because they did have some validity to the message even if the way he presented them was retarded and fallacious, attacking the wrong key figures and presenting the argument in the most ignorant way possible a few times...

But then his depiction of Christianity comes in, he puts in all the most extreme stereotypes of christian faith into play, with themes originating from crackpot churches of varying kinds that are typically outside of the main stream of faith in general, or exaggerated hyperbole of mainstream faith, all combined into one "Super Stereotype" of Christian faith, failing to accommodate even one relatable Christian character who might have even the slightest semblance of intellect or reasoning ability. He misrepresents a lot of what actual religious people stand for and their ethics and morals in order to further vilify the cult-like extensions of Christianity in the more unusual churches that exist on the outer lines of faith, representing them as the norm of religion when it is in fact the minority. A good Christian or somebody with half a brain who attends bible-study does not harass lesbians or gays, the bible condemns this behavior outright repeatedly even if there is one part of the bible that condemns homosexuality as an abomination, and the validity of any part of the bible can be called into question because of repeated mistranslation and intentional censoring and editing on the part of the catholic church and pagan influence ANYWAYS. One should focus on the positive message and try to avoid what you can honestly say has a negative consequence and feels to you like a sin or wrong-doing, the entire basis of Christianity is to lead by example and forgive wrong-doing, not condemn people FOR FUCKS SAKES. How can you not account for some of the primary messages of the religion when you are showing their worst examples of extremism in such an obviously biased manner? HOW?!

What the fuck is wrong with you dude, did you do like no research or did your entire family get harassed by extremist Christians? Or are you doing what I think you're doing and using every single example of an extremist Christian to vilify religion? Extremists exist in every single facet of life religious or not, to paint religion as the definitive cause just because it's what they base their reasoning on is just as stupid as vilifying all of feminism because of what those stupid bitches who derailed the comet landing did. Dumb fallacious reasoning that I cannot stand for, I refuse to read anything more from an ignorant dickbag, no matter how engaging your lesbian romance sub-plots get.
