What do you want for christmas

I've been sitting around the house and wondering what to get people for christmas and what I want. I've always been a big proponent of having open lists because then you get things you actualy want, which makes everyone happier (unless people ignore your list but its a net gain).

Regardless I want some ideas of what each of you want for christmas and particuarly good gift ideas that you've got lined up. I might poach some because i'm the kind of person who doesn't really want anything.

I remember my mother wanting some sort of kitchen utensil like a zester but for making strips of carrot or some such but i can't remember what it was called. everyone else gets cookies.

Well, checked with the madre about your not-quite-zester and she goes "A grater?" "Maybe." "Well, that's what graters do." So I don't know if that's what you're thinking of, Nu, but that's the best I got.

As far as giving and getting gifts, I have a hard time making up a list. I either tend to buy the things I want already or what I do want I consider too expensive to ask my mother for, even for Christmas. Still, it's mostly gaming books or novels. There's a couple video games I've put on my list, but I haven't actually written them down because I won't let her drop the cost on those.

We have, however, treated ourselves to two movie and TV series collections (thanks to excellent sales.) I picked up a Pyrex dish for mom after she melted the lid on the last one, which is nice if you do have a cooking fan. Most of my other gifts are a little more personal: pins, pocketwatch for the cuddlebuddy, art supplies for my other friend, and a t-shirt for my cousin (which I should probably go order. Right now.)

A fine grater, yeah. Best i can figure as well, and it's what i use when i want tiny carrot strips for whatever, usually chicken noodle soup. smaller is better, at least as far as the final image goes.

A family party with the whole family, a lot of food and a laptop.

Also if is possible i want a global change like animal evolution to sexy furries (without hair in body) by the radiation of 21 december ^_^

Perhaps she means a julienne slicer, it's slightly different from a grater though the same basic idea. I use mine for slicing up veggies for stir fry and the like, it's also good for making french fried potatoes.

As far as Christmas lists go I don't usually make one since I hate to ask for expensive things I won't buy for myself. Still I would really like a better telescope than I already have. Nice clothes as in more dressy for those rare occasions when I want to look not like a bum. Also any wooden puzzles or puzzle boxes, something of a hobby of mine. Cookies are good too, though.

I've never seen a julienne slicer that went smaller than 6-8mm, though. doesnt sound like the size she's after.

Oh, and my christmas list: video games, pathfinder books, neat knicknacks, and candy XD

Already know i'm getting the limited run Forward Unto Dawn statue though, which is friggin sweet!

The only thing I'm really expecting this holidays is a gift from me to me once the steam sales hit up on the 20th and I spend some of my car-clearing monies >_>

The whole collection of Jeff Nichols', Johnnie To's, Park Chan-Wook's, Akira Kurosawa's and the Zatoichi's DvD... Plus some books: integral of Bâsho's haïkus (though I don't like haïkus), Félix Arvers' book, some Arab poetry too.

And maybe an Intel i7 with a graphic card with 2GB instead of one.

Uhm... Well I'm skint, so mostly small things for the family. Asked for a T-shirt and a couple of games for myself, so we'll see how that goes.

I can buy whatever I want, so there's no real need to ask for anything. Though if you're asking what is the one thing we really want I'd have to say an end to everything that enrages me. Which, if the idiots are to be believed, I'll be getting on the 21st.
