Most of the harpies I've seen don't have much in the way of sex appeal. I think the biggest issue, for me at least, is the bird feet. I think every harpy I've seen in games tends to have bird feet and it makes them look more animal than human. Plus they are sometimes bad to have the raw wyvern deal going on (wings for arms). Sometimes they are especially horrid, having only a human face, and even that often tends to look like an old witch's face.

I'm sure there could possibly be a cute harpy, but by the time you manage to take all the ugly out of the deal she would be more "angel with dull wings" than harpy.

Voting on a perky cat girl myself. Cows are just just misshapen and saggy creatures. The whole regularly throwing up into their mouth to continue chewing their food is somewhat less appealing too. (Although obviously we can likely ruin just about any animal if we try to over apply traits this way. So don't take me too seriously there.)

Anyway, how come we've had no pictures so far? Proposing a rule of one image per post max. Sound good?

Don't get me wrong, I didn't mind the others either, I just think that if you're going to invoke a kink you might as well work with it a bit.

Hmm? So far mine seems to be the only catgirl pic, and there's no headband or tail glue going on there at least. Dunno what else you could hope for, unless you're looking for fuzzy arms/legs or something, which tends to be a minority feature in catgirl stuff. I'm inclined against mere animal themed accessories myself also. I've often somewhat disliked the design on a lot of MGE monster girls for example, since a fair amount of them just look like girls wearing novelty monster boots/gloves and clothing made from scales/fur, rather than it looking more like a natural part of their body.

Is perhaps a small part of what steers me away from cowgirls slightly too. Just that so much of the illustrations for them seem to include kinda tacky looking cowprint patterned clothing. 3 out of 4 here so far, for example. Tends to come across kinda slutty. Might sound silly regarding the context, but I reckon I'd be more drawn to less "fetishized" depictions of cowgirls, focusing more on their potential mild mannered or maternal themes. Sexy without trying too hard to be. If you get what I mean?

I've never much cared for the "cat girls must act like cats" thing. They have more human characteristics than cat, so why should their behavior be any less human? The "I must chase mice. I sleep all day. I clean myself with my tongue. I cough up hairballs." etc.. etc.. It's just dumb, IMO. I think the worst is the on the floor on their knees in begging position (more like a dog) next to a cat bowl. Some people might like that idea, but IMO it's disgusting and not sexy at all.

You'd think a cow girl (or cat girl, for that matter) would at least have a light coat of fur all over. Something that matches whatever the color of their tail is. Otherwise, shouldn't the tail be whatever their skin tone is? Not to mention hairless, aside from the tip of the cow girl's tail.

I think Annah from Planescape: Torment is a good example of how the tail should match their skin (or vice versa, if you prefer).

Sparrow can be an odd cookie. Not really a fan of unrealistic sizes.

I do like some of his stuff, because he's pretty willing to explore a bunch of different fetishes, but a lot of his work doesn't interest me, and the things I do like, I often like in spite of his art style rather than because of it.

I've always sort of assumed that catgirls are more popular, because catgirls are literally the most iconic anthropomorphic type fetish creature there is, bunnies maybe coming second. Cowgirls are almost synomymous with lactation porn, which I can only imagine weirds some people out, though I myself am neutral on the subject.
