What's new

ACT PUZ Vore Loli Ryona Guro [窓惑工房 / Window Frame] Dysthanasia (RJ01199228)

We got another status update from the dev.
They're teasing some unlockable character model gallery this time, and one new enemy we haven't seen before.
They say they're in the final stages of development now guys, like, for real this time. There are only a few steps left! (wtf does that even mean?)
Maybe we'll see a release around the end of October. 2025.

The game probably will come out this year, but with all this delaying and not even seeing much visible progress since late 2022...
Hmm, it's starting to feel like one of those lately.

It sounds like the dev is only polishing the product at this point, so it'll probably come out this week or next one depending on what he's actually working on.
Really hyped to play it.

Is that a typo? Did you mean Oct 2024? Because that would a crazy long "final stages of development".

He's joking about the developer frequently being late / slow.

Current status is "end of june or start of july" and that he's finalizing the game as he approaches the deadline (as of this monday).

I was joking out of disappointment.

I'm more pessimistic but this guy's probably pretty accurate.

Though keep in mind, the point when the developer is actually finished and ready to "submit" the "final release version" of their game, and the point when it actually becomes purchasable/downloadable from DLSite, are two completely different time points.
DLSite takes at least a couple of days, or maybe a week, to go over the game's content (and make sure the game is appropriately censored, the irony), before it is allowed for release.
I remember when Violated Princess' dev submitted their game, there was a wait until it was "cleared" for release. (Any day now, any day now, probably on the 1st of next month)
I'm expecting the developer to post another bait ci-en post saying he's "done" and the game is "ready" and then hit us with the "estimated time to release: 1 more month"
"Seriously, this time for real, guys!"
The game was rejected.

I'm stuck in the cave, guys where do i find original 2D Demonophobia?

I'm seeing in the comments that he Tweeted the game is going to be delayed to around July 18th or something?

He did say "just a little more" at least, I guess.
As impatient as I am to play, it's better if he squashes out gamebreaking bugs.

Fucking disgusting, normies are making youtube videos on Dysthanasia for views and clicks due to the nature of the game and exposing it to normies when the game should be protected and gatekept. Comments are already crying about the character being lole.

for fucks sake...oh noes a l0l1 let's cancel the dev!!!1
There's not even a petite or l0l1 tag on dlsite. For all I care the mc could be 20yo. It's not that uncommon for asian women to look much younger than they really are in real life. Then comes the art style that makes all the difference.
I wouldn't be surprised to find a document at the end of the game revealing the mc age and details and what happened to her. All we know at this point is that she was dead and was delivered to the facility along with 3 other corpses based on that note that was shared in a previous post. We can only speculate that she is the 4th. We've seen 2 other characters of similar age. The girl in white dress with red eyes and that other infected patient in hospital gown. The 3rd could be a monster we've already seen such as the one eyed monster who could be her father or something. Its model is named "Family" after all.

DLSite tags barely matter anymore, which isn't helping with payment processors.

Ignoring clickbait youtubers is the real solution. They get paid for clicks after all.

This. In fact: don't watch youtube at all.
There are plenty of good content creators and the algorithm does a pretty good job of ignoring a majority of clickbait and garage videos so long as you train it well by not clicking on clickbait and garbage videos.

I don't know what you've been hearing about the site, but this seems like a bad take. Speaking both as a witness and from experience, there's more than enough useful content on that website alone that you could set yourself up with a real career just from watching videos there.
I remember a time when people would consider you a rocket scientist for building your own computer. Now there's a whole generation that knows how to build & maintain them, all thanks to some "stupid" YT videos.
To say nothing of computer programming, networking, digital security, 3D modeling & animation, electrical engineering, photoshop, digital art & photography, music, chemistry, cooking, woodworking & home improvement, mechanical & automotive work, personal fitness, makeup & special effects, law & legal systems, news & journalism (we have POV footage of modern war now), the list goes on longer than both of Santa Claus' lists put together.
You can learn how to use a computer & the internet there, and like many before me have said, the internet is likely the most important tool in the modern world. All you need is the desire to know something.
The "company" is run by lunatics and staffed by the mentally retarded, but as imperfect as it is, it is still a tremendously useful resource. To block yourself from using it is like restricting yourself from libraries.

This. Also, you could possibly even get the video taken down.
Whether anyone likes it or not, he's risking a channel ban by even talking about this game. Youtube has been known to be very inconsistent with their enforcement of rules. Even if the video doesn't go against the website's claimed ToS, they could nuke the video channel anyway, because fuck you. Even if it IS against ToS, they might still leave it up, because again fuck you.

Strongly agree. Don't really disagree with the rest though the site's uploaders have always been typically heavy on engaging in drama and it should also be mentioned that for every useful educational video hosted there are also at least 100 turds of flavors varying from "look at me" all the way to "hitler dancing with the hulk for babies". It'd be quite the boon if we were able to pry that 1% or so of usefulness out of their tentacles. But I digress, my response wasn't meant to be applied by everyone.

It looks like the fans are getting pretty antsy.
I looked back at some of the previous things the dev has released, and it looks like the game has continually been delayed, almost every single time they've wanted to release something.
The developer also has a history of a very poor choice of words, getting people's hopes up perhaps too soon. For a long time I thought this was just due to translation error, but there's a long track record of it now.
The first demo was originally supposed to be released on October 16th, 2022. The developer then posted an update on October 20th asking for "a little more time"
The first demo would then be released on November 2nd
The next time we would hear from the developer would be April 7th, 2023, where they would detail development & release an update to the previous demo, also stating they'd like to release another updated demo at a later date.
On the April 7th post, the developer also acknowledged that the sporadic, infrequent progress updates were sub-optimal (Ci-En posts range from 1 day to 5 months apart at this point), and set themself a "quota" of 2 posts per month.
This lasted for two months.
The next demo was released on August 11th 2023, and the developer said that they had been (past tense) expecting to have their "project" completed by August, but now they were expressing doubts about having it finished by September (2023).
In the August 11th update, they made first mention of an official release date coming soon. "Just a little while longer"
The next demo would be released on October 10th 2023.
On December 31st 2023 the developer posted another update, where they said they had been hoping to have the "project" "completed" within 2023, but due to additions (probably adding player suggestions) and there being more work than expected, this wasn't possible.
In the December 31st post, the dev said they were aiming to "complete" the project by March (2024). "Just a little while longer"
Februrary 1st 2024, March 14th, the dev says they're aiming for "completion" "within March"
March 25th, "The next Ci-En update is scheduled for April 28th-29th" (but no demo yet, maybe it was pushed back to April?)
The dev had a few posts on Twitter in the coming days, saying they've been having trouble with the game engine & compilation errors.
March 31st, the next demo released out of nowhere. (what the fuck is this timeline)
The developer then went almost silent. Only a few updates on Twitter, again related to development difficulty.
May 2nd "There are many bugs related to grab attacks, and restraining tentacles are often a breeding ground for bugs"
May 15th "DoOnce"
May 22nd,"It wasn't completed."
June 12th a Ci-En post, the game now has an official DLSite page, with release date set for late June to early July (2024).
July 1st, Another Ci-En post with teaser screenshots. "We are in the final stages of production" "There are only a few steps left"
July 8th Twitter post, "I'm currently working on a release date around July 18th. I'm sorry for procrastinating."
July 16th Twitter post, "Progress. I have almost finished putting the game together, but the debugging process has been more difficult than expected and will likely take longer than planned. I apologize for the delay, but I would appreciate it if you could wait a little longer."
I wouldn't want to discourage the developer, I find game design very interesting and I love to read and watch documentaries about game design. The biggest thing I've learned about game development, it can be tedious, time consuming, grueling, and can be soul-crushingly challenging.
It's something that some people are born to do, few people are good at, and it's something you should only do because you want to. If you don't meet at least one of those criteria, it will show.
I could do another lengthy filler post to tide people over some more, talking a bit about what I do know of game design, linking to things in Dysthanasia and theorizing on what/why the developer is having trouble on. That would take a while to write, though.

according to his last twitter post it appears that the dev has encountered issues while repacking in UE4
