@YuKitsune The abberation puzzle consists of two parts. First, you must go into the doors in the irght order, indicated by the purple candles. Then, you must remember the order in which you went through the doors and apply that same order as a pattern by hitting the wooden stakes with the kobold hammer ability. If done correctly, you'll hear the familiar jingle, and a door appears.
As for Succubus Affection, it's certainly worth getting in my opinion, but it's a very different beast to FOBS. Where FOBS was all about puzzles and light combat, Succubus Affection is almost entirely combat-centered. It's a bit chaotic at times, and the early-game difficulty can be a tad annoying, but I honestly had a great time with it, and there's still a great variety of high-quality animations to discover. Certainly worth the less than 10€ you'd be paying for it. That said, I don't know how much, if anything, goes to Zell, since nobody knows the terms and conditions under which he provided his art.
Zell himself is currently keeping a bit to himself, but he most definitely hasn't abandoned FOBS. As of yet, he hasn't shown any new progress with the game in some time, but I strongly assume he wants to focus on getting everything ported over to PixelMaker MV before continuing.
However, he has begun work on a second project called Shiro no Yakata (linked by
@Strange above), which serves as a tech demo for his use of the PixelMaker MV engine, but also a secondary project with a stronger horror twist to the equation. That project is also technically what you're supporting him on FANTIA and Ci-en for, since he adamantly refused to take money for FOBS all this time.
