As fun as this game is, I'd really like this to have a story. Something to drive the player to collect all of the monster girls and beat the final boss. Something to explain how the protag can get abilities from collecting monster girls. Stuff like that. I know I am asking a bit much from porn, but with the amount of quality FOBS has, I'm treating this as a game first and porn second.

Stories are nice but when its vague, you can still sometimes selectively ignore certain game mechanics and make up your own preferred story as you go along. I mean, if you look at it the protagonist is pretty much an invader intruder upon the monster girls rather than the other way around. It kinda deflates the monster girl survival horror aspect a little. But with a little bit of clap of your hands if you don't-believe you can make it work.
 
MC is the son of a human male and a mimic monster girl. That being said, he can copy certain abilities from certain creatures. Nope nevermind. A story for this would have to be really well thought out.

I did notice there are absolutely no other males anywhere in this game. "Hostage" or background rapes are pretty cool in games like these, but I have yet to see something like that. I'm not demanding it, I just realized there is none of it.

Well it's entirely possible that all of the other males (or even regular human females as well) have been taken captive by some all powerful entity in the game world, the hero was able to keep himself hidden from the rest of them somehow but he ventures forth to rescue all of the other humans. Anyway, i think it would make sense to implement some sprites of other defeated human males are some point.
 
MC goes to the forest, MC found cute monster girls, MC get raped, MC wants revenge and FUCK ALL OF THEM AND PUT THEM IN A CAGE LIKE THE SLUTS THEY ARE.

To be honest, I always viewed this game as very laid back and relaxed when playing it. The kind of game that didn't really need a plot, or might even be an "open world" plot where there isn't really a great desire to achieve any main goal, but have there be some kind of reward (in this case, capturing girls) for players who do decide to progress the "plot". It would take a hell of a lot of effort to make a convincing story, so I think keeping it the way it is would be the best course of action. I would prefer what we have now to a story that falls flat.

Edit: I just remembered a pretty good example, in my opinion. Eroico by Kyrieru. It's a game that doesn't really have a plot, but is still thoroughly enjoyable due to the gameplay and animations. Sure, a story might be nice, but if it wasn't as good or better than the gameplay, it would detract from the game as a whole.

it could be he's the only one brave/stupid enough to live the the forest that just so happens to be a sanctuary for monster girls

Usually, the simpler, the better. Eroico kinda lets you build up your own story I guess. I always thought that the final boss was using me to defeat her own enemies so she could be the queen of the monsters. So she always acted like my friend throwing confetti whenever I reached a save point, knowing that I'd be kicking her enemies assess. After they were all done, she no longer needed to hide her intentions and then she tried to defeat me.

And I let her.

Eroico was one of the games that managed to make me go "D'AWWW' despite having no dialogues whatsoever.
For me, it's something like the final boss having a crush on the hero, therefore assisting him by heals and stuffs despite being the big shot, finally they had the unavoidable final battle because of her being the big shot, boom boom hero lost then the consensual smex hence the smile on her face and the fancy bed.
 
Not only is Zell pushing this game to the limit with how much he can stuff in there, but I'm pretty sure he's also mentioned that he wants to keep it pretty simple and easy to understand what to do, even if you don't understand a hint of Japanese. Adding a story would kind of fly in the way of that.
I don't think we'll be seeing any, but I would enjoy having little background rape scenes of the local wildlife having their way with some "unlucky" males. Or, what else would be fun is if they only showed up after you got a game over in a particular area, and MC's appearance changed slightly after every game over, with the last one being stuck in the background rape scene as a new man takes the helm for completing the harem, and whoa where am I going with this it will never happen ever.
Also, sidenote, judging by the way the plant girl's animation plays out on Twitter, I expect she'll have one of those premature ejaculation animations.

He's had still photos of lamias in the past, so they will be added sometime in the future. From what i understand he's not currently coding or attempting to implement them, so that wait is unknown at this point and time.

if things go as planned. Though Zell mentions that her animation/mechanics are difficult to create, or something along that line.
