Alright, so, this game was super enjoyable and, my love for it reached new heights.
WARNING: TO THOSE WHO HAVEN'T PLAYED IT, SPOILER! ALSO, IT MIGHT BE PRETTY LONG!
I may say that this is one of the greatest hentai games I've ever played in my life. The amount of detail put into this work is phenomenal and it's just purely amazing. There are many things I could rave on and on about, but....
Anyways, Airi is the character that makes this game the most enjoyable. Of course since she's the main character, you play her like the entire game, but, playing this game as her, has kind of made me have a connection with Airi. She is just so loyal, beautiful, powerful, and extremely, extremely caring. You can take many examples, but one huge example would be when you save the kid. The kid runs off or got captured and you must fight the monster that holds him captive. After Airi rescues the child, he begs her to not hurt him. What does she do? She goes next to him and caresses his head reassuringly. That is one of the most sweetest scenes in that game. That burns my heart with passion. Airi kinda is my role model and out of all the video game characters or people you can choose from, she's very high on the list. Now, let's talk about another quality in which I admire, a lot. Loyalty. I need a best friend like Airi, lol. In that eating guy's game over scene, Airi's loyalty is shown strongly. After she loses all strength, she is held captive, but Blanc tries to save her. After Blanc fails and has a knife to her neck by that guy who I hate so much, Blanc tells Airi to run. That fat guy says that if Airi runs, Blanc will die. Blanc urges Airi to run, but what does Airi do? Stays. She won't leave her friend, even if it means they both have a horrible fate. Isn't that just endearing? Well, maybe she was also too slow and weak to run, but...that fat guy is slower, okay?! I don't think Airi would've ran even if she had the chance (opinion.) So, in the end, Blanc and Airi are chained and all hope is forever lost, but Airi did that for Blanc. That act of loyalty is powerful. One can be loyal to one another, but I think only a few can in these situations, when your life and the other's life is in grave danger.
One element that makes this game incredible, is that aura of hopelessness, and helplessness. That is portrayed extremely strongly in the game over endings, which are 1) The Spider ending, 2) The Chef ending, 3) The Gang Ending, etc....(there is more, but I listed a few that spoke the most.)
You get to feel the hopelessness Airi goes through when her power all fades. I'm pretty sure she can't die, so if the enemy does enough, she'll lose all strength, and she'll forever be used by the enemies. Though I'm not sure, since after you press enter during a game over, she respawns. Now normally, that's normal for a game, but the fairies tell her: "Welcome back. Thanks to you the miasma is reducing......" Does that mean after a while, she can teleport back to her original state and location?
During the game over's, she is powerless and can't resist. She can't fight back and you can see it. That's truly terrifying, knowing that you won't be able to do anything and that the other person, or the enemy can do whatever the hell they wish, and all you can do is just....suffer, as eventually, the fire in you and the fight will fade away as hope will forever be lost. I feel Airi's pain. It's a poor example compared to Airi, but it's like if you were involved in a car crash and fuel leaked everywhere and there's a fire. You know that an explosion will occur any minute. You are conscious, but, you can't move. Your legs are crushed under wreckage and it's impossible to move it out. You know you'll die and what sucks is that you can't do anything about it.
That feeling makes me sympathize with Airi and that is why she was one of my favorite characters. I can feel her pain...I want to feel her pain. Such a sweet girl and there are monsters out to kill her and make sure they keep her for her own. So that's why, I never let the monster's have their way with Airi. I always slay them with extreme prejudice.
Whoo, sorry about that long post. Some of you might think that I'm over analyzing it and I should just enjoy the game, but this is what i normally do. Whether it be a book, movie or a game, I always like to delve deeper and try to find a connection. It makes it all the more enjoyable for me, doing this. That's why I came blazing into this forum with the questions. The more I knew about Airi and how she and the game worked, the more I could sympathize with her and truly, truly enjoy the game. This game is a hidden gem. Personally for this game, the sex scenes aren't the ones that make this enjoyable, but it's the character Airi, and the plot and interactions that happen throughout, shining beautiful on that lovely goddess.
Thank you Chairi and the devs for introducing such a rare gem like Airi, who has grown to be one of my most favorite video game characters. And thank you for reading this also, lol. You didn't have to. Thought I'd want to share my love for this game even more.
