It's not like you'd have a whole lot SP to spend on fancy elemental spells after maxing sylph and cool calm. The way I defeated her was dumping all my savings on incendiary nades for the modded assault rifle and bumrushing her, and even then I think only RNG saved me.

playing in normal too and i dont want to see hard dificulty really......unless theres something in it.
Yes, there is something in hard (food) difficulty. Lots and lots of swearing. Genocide 1-3 boss for example attacks twice in one turn, often nailing you with heavy damage spells both times - and frequently it's lightning, which can also paralyze (on top of filling around half your lust bar in the first place). Gave up trying a genocide hard run at that point.

Ed: You should have plenty of SP for maxing slyph, ice, and maybe dodge by the time you get to the spider if you're doing Compassion - I think Dasmir's suggestion of using the modded gun to do elemental damage (spider lady is only weak to ice, seems like she has 1/2 resist for fire and 1/4 resist on lightning) is your best bet, but an alternative before you even start 3-2 proper is to travel back to a place where you can go to the rooms (can't do this in 3-2) and get the sphinx's staff - which I would recommend doing anyway because it seems to light the cave if you've been lazy about getting lampas's affection up, and your maxed ice spells OHKO spiders (which are kind of a pain otherwise).

So guys I have news from Yami (creater of SHRIFT)

I talked with him about the english translation and about the future of his project.
The biggest issue that he currently has, is the insufficient capital to get an english version done by DLsite.
It cost about 100'000 Yen = 900$ to get a translation done up to chapter 2.
I guess to translate the full game (Chapter 1 - 4 he needs about 2'500 - 3000$)
He is currently using Ci-en, one of the crowdfunding platform from DLsite. And is earning 164$ per month which is nothing. ->
I had so many question, because he asked Japanese people to fund for an english version of this game.
He was already worrierd that this game would lose interest in the west because of the statment from february.
Good news is that he will open a patreon account because he was surprised that this game was very popular in the west. (Pointed at ULMF forum and translation subforum)
As soon the patreon page is up I will pledge a bit to get this done quicker.

I am honestly confused by the scale of the reactions of foreign players.
I do not have enough funds to translate, but I do not have time to translate, giving priority to the time to produce the game (SHRIFT) any more.

My illustration is not very good. The game also places more emphasis on the scenario. Most of all, I am very slow in creative speed.
I thought that overseas people will end up disinfecting before I translate.

So, I focused on creative work as much as possible, I thought that I would start translating seriously after completing the game.
(I thought that money would have accumulated to some extent at that time.)

But ... Looking at the translation patch's thread, I may have to change that idea.
I think that we will report on patreon with Twitter as soon as preparation is ready.
(English is difficult for me and I can not prepare privileges to match the amount.)

SHRIFT is composed of three stories.
The content you are playing now is complete with Chapter 4.
After that, I will renew the system and animation and announce it as the next numbering.

Also those crystals in the gallery room are related to the different routes ? ( )

looks like a less furred version of Haru and Liz also 9 tails its confirmed in LET ME SMASH instead of being just a guide so we are getting a kitsune.

I haven't played in so long that I feel like it's better for me to just wait for the whole thing to get in.
Speaking of, I guess that means I have time to figure out all this fuss about "hooking" and translators. I haven't gotten anything done despite all my dedicated research on it for the past couple of weeks. Seems like I have to torrent something in fishy places.

New update, the patch now translates 100% of the game.
It might be just me but when I try to select the patch file, it crashes TRANS and gives me:

Thanks for signaling it. It's a RPGMaker Trans bug.
It's now fixed on mega. The bug is way too obscure to be fixed permanently though.

Man, the spider was a really big pain in the ass so far. People keep saying that keeping up wind and cool to prevent grabs and the fear were all you need, but her constant staring kept burning all my stamina, and I must have been really unlucky with her stunning roars compared to everyone else. At best I could get like 7 shots off with the riot gun, not sure how anyone else could constantly survive that long without running out of items or getting rng-fucked.

And then I found the magnum.

Also, quick question for anyone who genocided their way through the game; do you fight the snake in a fair fight, or is it still a gimmick in some way?

Yes to the latter - she has 30,000 HP and a move that recovers 10,000 hp that she uses every 2nd (3rd?) turn - you're not beating her in a fair fight, ever.

Can I ask what are the story differences on genocide route (if possible, in detail)? I've finished the game on pacifist route (and recruited everyone) and honestly I don't have the heart to actually kill them in a separate play through, but I'm still curious.

Btw, in my honest opinion, the arachne was the hardest fight (but mainly because of misinformation). Tried to beat her using wind evasive magic and cool mind and I've lost to her over 15 times. Then I decided to only use cool mind and attack and won. Used the same tactic for the chapter replay (so I can recruit later titanoboa) and won even more easily. Honestly having to keep up 2 separate 5 turn duration spells while constantly getting stunned is a bad tactic - you will eventually loose battle of attrition since you have very little opportunities to attack. Getting caught in the web isn't really a problem - you just struggle once or twice, remove webbing and use evasive posture till she goes back to combat stance, you loose barely any will or vitality during that and guarantee that she will loose her guard two/three turns later. And this way you can attack way more often.
