ADV Patreon SIM Active [SlavesOfRome] Slaves of Rome


Interesting. I can see that point and it has been brought up by a few people. I have to ask though, why are the (lots) of videos not enough in your mind? Are they really not and does a free demo help or people just want it because "it's free"? Why is it so common to put those out and many people now expect them as standard?

Also - I think most people love to get a fill of the game themselves... That's why even big games release a demo or some kind of playable game (like Detroit, for example) just so people can see if they like the mechanics (even the basic ones) or the vibe..
I think doing a demo is a bit like doing an expo - just on a wider scale :p

You get skill points by punishing the slaves (fucking won't give you points) - so you need to get the whip and once you do, you can use it to punish the slaves and educate them = skill points
 
I actually got stuck there too! maybe you should have a tutorial of sorts for it? like a change log even, that tells you how to do things, before you actually do a full tutorial for the game?

Yeah, next build should have a log. And a bit more clear tutorial. But after some roam around you can usually figure most stuff out ;)

I mean, maybe? but I spent quite a lot of time on it, and fucked slaves and what have you, and got nowhere.. It's really un-clear that you gain skill points by punishing them

Yeah, a few people said that actually so.. working on it :). It's not actually punishing btw - it's training.. so.. there are more options (like finger fucking or dildo playing stuff like that) that you can do - not just whip them :)

Not everything.. but yeah, a lot of things. I hope however it does give the basic feel of the game, but as always, would be happy for some feedback :)
 
Alright, I tried it - overall feels like you guys did a good job balancing showing the game, and not giving too much. Wouldn't want to feel like I'm giving money for something others are getting for free, and I think you kinda nailed it

Oh wow, thanks so much man - we are actually super not sure about the right balance, so any feedback helps a lot - if you have ANY ideas on how to improve, please do feel free to share - we are always looking for those!!

Oh, btw (sorry for asking so late) did you try the payed version as well? Do you feel it's a good ratio of extra things in the payed version vs the free one?
 
I would feel better to have more content of things to do rather than to grind out skills and worth - but I did enjoy it so far.
I'm not entirely sure how questing or skirmishing or whatever would work in this type of a game.. interested to see that

We are actually adding it (quests/story) in the next build releasing in a week. That should add a lot of time to the gameplay. Would be happy to hear what you think! - although, it will just be the patreon version for now and not the public one..

makes sense, wouldn't expect you to put out everything for free all the time lol..
the quests do sound interesting! i'll give it a go when it comes out..
do you have a date for it already?
