I tried applying the Delta patch to the Sub zip file but it didn't work. I'm guessing this is because I have the partial uncensored files made by Delexicus and not the original JSK files?

I used WinRAR to zip my folder up but that shouldn't be relevant, right?
It shouldn't matter what unpacker one uses, be it 7Zip, winzip, winrar, etc.

My best guess is exactly what you suspect the reason to be, I believe the delta patch is looking for the original files and can't find those, resulting in the patcher not providing the desired results.

Created a delta patch for Magical Girl Buster.

Magical Girl Buster's translation can't be shared on here because it has loli content, and I don't think it's very accessible if everyone's just gonna bother one user for access to the translation.
So I created a delta patch.

What is a delta patch?
In simple terms, it's the difference in the files. A delta file is just a byte comparison of the original file and the modified version of that file. It's only the changes. This means you'll need a copy of the original file in order to properly use the delta file. The original file needs to be exactly the same as the one I used to make the delta file however.

How do I use it?
Step 1:
Download the delta patcher program here.

Step2:
Open the program
Step3:
Select the untranslated version of the game (MAIN SWF FILE ONLY.)
Select the delta file ( )
Step4:
????
Profit

Ah turns out he translated some parts of the ending as well.
Patching this is a bit more complicated.
For this one, you'll have to zip up your sub folder (i don't know whether this'll matter sinze it's just a zip but I used 7zip to create the zip,) before applying the delta patch to the zip. Then you can unzip it and get the translations for the endings.

Obviously it's only a partial

All credit for the partial goes to @Icevail
What would we do without him? For real... if you guys don't give him a thank you who can you thank?
First of all, thank you and all the other translators (i'm sorry for not mentioning each one of them) for doing this, the patch for the main file works fine, and sorry if i´m beign retarded, but when trying to patch the subzip, it appears the error "An error has occurred: xdelta3: target window checksum mismatch: XD3_INVALID_INPUT", the files are the untranslated ones

Sorry but what are you talking about ? Magical Girl Buster's translation ? Or Magical Girl Buster's uncensoring ?

I wrote a parser for jsk game, it can extract Icevail's translation into .txt files, and use them to pull back into the swf files. This .txt files would be suitable for sharing, no ?

I've also tried to use your patcher and it did not work with the error message "The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect" error message. I have tried updating both the original release and the updated release of the main file 魔法少女バスター.swf. Same error both times. I found that the patcher does not like Japanese characters. I tried renaming the main file to Magical Girl Buster.SWF and it did work. This is with the updated version of Magical Girl Buster that JSK put out.

I'm also having trouble finding the correct 7zip compression settings to make the delta patcher happy. Would you be so kind as to post your 7zip compression settings screen as well as the version of 7zip you used please.

Screen like this

I'm currently messing around with the free patch maker to see if I can make the patching process a bit more fault tolerant.

EDIT 1.) Added sub zip problem description

When Icevail has the time, energy, and motivation to finish it. You are not helping with that last one by pestering him.
This is the translation thread Isn't it reasonable to think that people would assume that people are translating in it? If someone says they're working on something it's reasonable for people to ask how it's going after a month and a half. Iceveil answered my question by saying he wasn't working on it. I guess I'll just have to wait longer for some one to translate one of these 10 minute games. It's already been more then a year since JSK came back I'm sure someone will do a full translation for one of his new games eventually.

Yes. I'm using the base game's files.

I'm the same, except both files get the same error message. Also in the Resources folder, I get two main swf files. One is the original (mahou.swf), and the other is the supposedly patched version (mahouPATCHED.swf). I tried renaming the patched one to just mahou.swf (and deleting the other one), but the game doesn't open at all once I do that.

@DarkFire1004 Is this actually policy now? Because like two thirds of the games in the translation section involve loli content.

I apologize for not noticing the mention earlier. The rule is that complete game links are not allowed. But if you are distributing parts of the game, such as data files or translation patches, so long as they are not giving full access to loli content, then it is allowed.

I used same settings as you have on the screenshot and it worked fine, also the patcher had no problems with Japanese characters in file path or swf name for me. Shame that it seems to be a crapshoot whether it works for people or not.

edit. 7-zip version is 18.05 (x64) 2018-04-30

I'm currently working on updating the JSK Games Walkthrough Guide. I've imported the original guide Docx file to Google Docs and I am looking for some help with the updates. I would like to keep the style and format the same as the original guide where possible. Here is a link to the . And here is a . If anyone is really serious about bringing this guide up to date, you can PM me and I'll give you a link with full editor access.

For those unfamiliar, here's a quick explanation video of works.

EDIT 1: I'm trying to fill in some of the blank translation credits for the Communuty JSK Guide. If anyone knows who has, or is, translating the following titles, I'd Appreciate it if you could let me know here or by suggesting an edit in the Community JSK Guide.

EDIT 2: I found the translator credits.txt on the first post so that cleared up a couple entries.

How to Discipline a Shoplifting Girl
Karen, Daughter of Martial Arts Plutocrat

(freeware games)
XX With Hamakaze
XX With Isokaze
XX With Misa
XX With Rita
XX With Sasahara
XX With Sherry

(JSK like games)
Aura
XX With Kanami - My Sister

Hi everyone !

The ver3.4 of the parser is done ! It has only slight adjustments and some minor bug corrections. Users of the ver3.3 don't need to change their .txt files to use them with ver3.4. ( I have edited my post about the ver3.3, about the modifications ).
I had added a README.txt, which sums up what is needed for doing translation with this parser. Thanks to Delexicus for suggesting it !

Hey guys,

I need your help. I was working on the translations, and upon pasting the text from notepad++ to the sub files via JPEXS (as per usual), I found my game to be bugged. The bottom right menu starts off open and opaque, and the game will not load from one frame to the next automatically. It looks like this.

I've tried deleting the main swf and redownloading it, as well as cleaning my registry with ccleaner. But neither has worked.

If anyone has any suggestions, that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Try this. You could also try the untranslated miyui.

If the game won't load even after you try a know good version, it could mean your .sol save file got borked. I'll give you my full save to check.

As a side note, I use Adobe Flash Projector v31. This is where the save is stored on my machine. C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Macromedia\Flash Player\#SharedObjects\(random string)\localhost\save_data_kenshi.sol

Alright, it's working again after I turned my pc off and came back the next morning.

Funnily enough, the first thing I did was reset my pc and I still had this bug. I have no idea why it works after it's been off for several hours, but whatever.

Thanks for the help anyways guys.

I'm having some trouble figuring out the syntax for getting Donocad's Bash text extractor to work. I'm hoping someone with some bash terminal chops can give me a pointer as to what I'm doing wrong. Here is a screen capture as to what commands I'm trying to use.

Here's a MEGA link to l and accompanying readme.txt

EDIT 1: I figured it out!

It really helped a lot when I tried reading the readme.txt in notepad++ instead of Windows built-in notepad.

The key was pasting all three lines of the extract tool function. It wasn't visually formatted correctly in normal notepad so I was only using the printf line.

for input in ./*.as; do
printf "$input : $(bash ./jsk_parser_v3_4.bash extract_lines ./${input}.as)\n"
done

EDIT 2:

This is exceptionally frustrating. I can't quite get the extract function to give me an output. Or for that matter, to recognize an .as file has anything needing translating. I made sure to have sed, grep, tr installed. They were installed by default anyway. I did a function test by trying to extract メイン_ゲーム_187.as from Miyui ~My Neighbor Swordswoman in School~. I know that one should have text to extract because an extracted copy is in the Translation mod tools repository.

Sorry, I wrote an error in the README.txt !
Instead, to use "extract_lines", you do :

for input in ./*.as; do
printf "$input : $(bash ./jsk_parser_v3_4.bash extract_lines ./$input)\n"
done

On the screen, the command was "bash ./jsk_parser_v3_4.bash extract_lines ./file_187.as ./file_187.txt"
It should be "bash ./jsk_parser_v3_4.bash extract ./file_187.as ./file_187.txt"

It looks like I'm getting closer. I'm getting a different error message now. It says "need .as as input" This is pretty strange. I'm pretty sure I have the syntax correct this time.

EDIT 1:

So I decided to take a break from banging my head against a wall for a bit. I brute forced the menu translation update. I setup a couple mouse macros that would let me do a select all and copy command on one thumb button. And a select all select all paste command on a different thumb button. It took me much less time than I thought to power through all the menu text strings.

Magical Girl Buster has now has a translated interface in the DLsite updated release. File has been uploaded to the MEGA repository.

Try jsk_parser_v3_5.bash

I tried the v3.5 parser. Still not working. I tried running your parser in a shorter directory just to check. It didn't help either. I'm running out of ideas. I may need to do some reading about cygwin to see if there is an unrelated issue at hand.

Thank you for sticking with me on this Donocad. I imagine this is similarly frustrating for you as well.

Try this one

It gave me a different message this time. I think it accepted the file_187.as file. It didn't give me a .txt output though. I'm not sure what need output as $3 means though.

EDIT 1:

It definitely is thinking about something. It takes a full three seconds from hitting enter to it returning me to the bash prompt.
