Re: Chapter 1 - Introductions Are a Plus

Eve let out a laugh, "Yeah, i can see how the term has become insulting when you put it that way." she turned to Fletch, "It's a shitty book series about vampires that sparkle in the sunlight." she rolled her eyes, "It's very popular with pre-teen girls."

"You're forgetting the clinically insane legions of teenage and adult fangirls that worship the series... I believe they were establishing a "church" for it, last time I checked?..."

Another reason why Luna stayed away from people nowadays, legions of mindless fangirls that she would have to kill if she stayed around them too long...

(In other news, they "have" made a twilight church, that communes every sunday to worship "cullenism". And no, I am not kidding.)

Eve looked a little sick, "Really? That raises stupidity to a whole new level."

((( D: that depresses me. A lot. Ugh.)))

Showing a rare display of emotion, Luna let out a sigh at the very thought of the rumors she had heard.

"Apparently so...Tis idiocy such as that which causes me to fear for what this world has come to..."

(I know... really depressing... >_>;; It's almost as bad as those brutal twilight fan gang lynchings...)

Fletch hmphs and reaches up to scratch his beard. Again. "So, uh. . . Did anybody tell you? Are we going fwoosh in the sunlight? I mean, I'd just think so, but what the fuck do I know?" This reminds him again to hunt down The Bitch.

"Bad teen lit aside, I'm willing to bet the, ah, fwooshing is probably true. One, it's the more accepted mythology about vampires. The Twilighters are just...special." The way she says that implies something more derogatory than "unique." "Two, lack of witnesses aside, if they could roam about during the day, why would the vam--Sabbat wait until now to nab all of us? I'm sure there's just as many opportunities during the day as now."

Eve nodded, "We should accept daylight fwooshing as true for now at least." then she frowned and scratched her temple, "I wonder if anything else has any truth to it, like garlic and crosses..." then she grinned sheepishly, "I'm not up to snuff on my mythology, never thought I'd need it."

"I've heard fire would do it, too. How do you know everything else is false?" She looks over at Luna. "There's also the notion of having holy wafers stuffed in your mouth after having your head cut off, but then again, decapitation will kill just about anything anyway."

Realizing she had given away more information than she should have by accident, Luna immediately attempts to remedy the situation, attempting to formulate a convincing story.

"I...the one who told me where to go informed me of these things...yes..."

Eve blinked, "Even the thing about crosses is false? Or was it just faith in an object..." she shook her head, "And you're starting to less and less truthful. Better hope that none of them can read minds."

"...I'll do well to remember that...but yes, it requires unshakable faith in an object or deity to hurt us with such a thing...or perhaps not even hurt..."

Re: Chapter 1 - Introductions Are a Plus

"I remember reading something like that. That it's faith and not a cross that does it. Like how someone who's Jewish would have faith in their Star of David, not a cross, or how a cross wouldn't work for someone who didn't believe in God." Never mind that she read it in one of her brother's comic books, but the principle seemed to be the same. "I guess if Ronell's right and they're going to question us, we'll have a lot of questions to ask right back." She hides her face. "I just had this horrible image of a classroom and 'Vampirism 101' written on the chalkboard."

Eve giggled, "That actually sounds like it would be a lot better than what's actually gonna happen..."

"Yeah. Now I more feel like I'm sitting in detention, waiting to go to the principal's office. So we go from Brady Bunch to the Breakfast Club." She shakes her head.

Eve snorted, "None of us are in trouble. It's not like we started the fight anyway." she buffed her blue polished nails on her dress, "This is like switching Universities and having to go to the intro class all over again."

Having been thinking for a short while, Rashar speaks up. So hut kind of haith? I know i talisan prohed to e quite ehhectihe against the agent who turned e. He says starting to pull something from his pocket before pausing. Pulling the talisman might be the trigger to send the red eyed agent berserk and try to attack him, and the previous agent had proved that the talisman alone wasn't enough to block weapon based attacks.

Luna shifted backwards partially into a combat stance subconsciously upon Rashar beginning to bring out the talisman, an uncomfortable feeling beginning to flow through her body. Such was her discomfort, although relatively that she slipped a cross-hilted silver knife part way into her palm purely by instinct, wanting to destroy the source of such a vile feeling. Nevertheless, relying on sheer force of will, the scarlet-eyed girl managed to avoid throwing the knife for the moment, as she began speaking in a low and somewhat threatening tone, having guessed what he was about to conjure.

"Yes... similar to that...now put away thy symbol lest thou want a blow to thy face."

Re: Chapter 1 - Introductions Are a Plus

Having fallen silent for the most part, Jaylene listened to the current conversation with only about half an ear towards it. She didn't know much about vampires, even less about the pop culture that surrounded them (she hadn't gotten swept up in the particular books that were being discussed for example!) so the sardonic banter flew right over her head.

On the more serious note, she just didn't want to get involved about talk about what was gonna kill her. Truth was, she was going to miss sunlight, and she knew that fire was lethal... so were bullets when it came right down to it, it seemed, though Jaylene wasn't about to run her mouth off about it. She didn't exactly trust everyone here, especially not when they seemed so gung ho to believe that things were going to be all sparkles (okay, maybe not sparkles... bad analogies there) and unicorns.

She leaned back in her chair and crossed her arms over her chest, playing with the weathered leather that bunched up over the inside of her elbows. That rainjacket fella bothered her some, though more in the sense that something seemed really wrong with him. The speech impediment didn't help that fact. The guy must have had something pretty wrong done to him to be dressed up like he didn't want anyone's eyes on him.

The white-haired chick spoke oddly, too, though it was less like she had a speech impediment and more like she had been caught in the middle of some kind of bad high school rendition of a Shakespeare play. Jaylene had given her a brief look over and decided that Luna was probably the kind of girl who got picked on in class and had an oh-so-dark soul that just screamed out for attention... it was probably the hair, contacts and getup that gave her that first impression. She was hard pressed to decide on whether Rashar or Luna were the worse off.

In any case, she wouldn't be turning her back on anyone soon. She turned her attention to Isabella and Raven. Of everyone here, those two seemed the least intimidating. Seemed to know what she was talking about, too... sort of. Jaylene's family had always been an honest, church-going bunch, but it wasn't like she believed in most of the schpeel handed out to her. She didn't think that this whole symbols-of-faith thing made much sense. Well, at least Isabella wasn't going off about things like Fletch and Eve had been, or gone all withdrawn like Ronell.

"Think they're actually gonna let us get a question in edgewise?" she asked the pale woman (Isabella, not Luna) as she shifted on her chair. She looked Raven over, trying to decide whether the young man was just incredibly shy, or shell-shocked, or both. She assumed that he was in the same boat as the rest of them, what with the just getting turned into whatever they were now.
