Re: Chapter 1 - Introductions Are a Plus

"K-k-kay." Raven says, following her down. They pull a pair of cots together with a short screech, and Raven ends up sitting in much the same position she is, on the opposite side of the bed. He pulls out a sketchbook and pencil from the things he brought along, and started drawing almost immediately.

There is a network withing range with the name matching what was on the front of the building, but it requires a password to connect...

Re: Chapter 1 - Introductions Are a Plus

Izzy lets out a frustrated noise. "Why can't you just be stealable bandwith?" she mutters to the computer. First turning the volume down so as to not to make obnoxious error noises, she tries the first thing that comes to mind, which is to leave the password spot blank, just hitting 'Enter' instead. If that doesn't work, she tries a few combinations of the name and numbers, then running through the standard 'Never make this your password' words that she remembers. If none of that works, she starts getting really creative, testing the character limit with things like "supercalifragilisticexpialidotious" before moving on to some of the names that she remembered hearing tonight, seeing as how this place seems to be tied in somehow with the Kindred.

Casting a look at Byron, Fletch decides to take a bed as far away from that guy as possible. Being puked upon is definitely not on his list of things he enjoys.
His feet fall heavily on the steps as he enters the basement and throws his baseball cap onto one of the beds near the opposite corner of the one that Rash is building his nest in. the plaid shirt follows shortly after. Pulling a pack of cards out of his pocket he looks for somebody to play some poker with until the daytime tiredness comes.

Izzy treis at least three dozen different passwords, but none of them work. Raven frowns a bit at her frustration, trying to be sympathetic, but doesn't say anything, his gaze returning to his sketchbook.

((Oh, soooo close! You wrote it, but Izzy didn't XD))

Re: Chapter 1 - Introductions Are a Plus

((That was just the first wave, dear. I have more ideas.))

She looks up from her typing, given that Fletch has heavy footsteps, watching him for a second. "That's bad luck, you know, though I don't know if these things actually count as beds," she remarks, inclining her head toward his hat. She drops her gaze back to her computer, fingers drumming on the keyboard as she tries a few more key phrases that she picked up tonight, including 'Camarilla,' 'Sabbat' (if it was that one, she decided, she was going to stop there and power down.), 'Kindred,' and moving on to the various clan names that she heard being tossed about. If that doesn't work, then she's going to give up and do it another time.

"It is?" Fletch looks towards his bed, but shrugs. "Eh, I've collected so much bad luck already anyway." He walks over to the pair and looks at what Izzy is doing. "Have you tried 'password' yet? Used to be mine for a while. Thought it was funny."

"Supposed to be, but I guess a superstition only has as much power as you let it." She puts her attention back on the screen. It looks like she's trying to tap into the network to do...something on the computer other than play solitaire. "Yeah, that was one of the fifth or sixth that I tried. Along with 'enter,' 'input,' and 'password here.'" She goes back to her testing and lets out a surprised noise. "I'm in!" Though from the look of things, it's going to take a while for the screen to load. "Now what did I just type?" She looks down at the keys, moving her fingers over them without touching. "Ah." Seems she remembered.

It took a bit longer, probably due to the weak signal from the basement, but 'Kindred' logged Izzy's computer onto the network, and gave her internet access without any more trouble.

Any signal was better than no signal. At least she could get things started, since the longer you waited with classes the less you had to choose from. At the moment, she was navigating herself to the university registration site.

"Now comes the fun part," she mutters, half talking under her breath. "The fine art of manipulating your schedule to not have class before noon. Or any time the sun's up for that matter. This takes senior-itus to a whole new level." Too bad she really wasn't a senior. It might be easier.

Fletch nods and mutters something along the lines of "congratulations" before walking on. He took evening computer classes once, but that barely covered the bases. That Ronell guy hasn't come down yet, and he'll do hell and get anywhere near Rash's nest of glitter and glue.
Somehow the big man feels misplaced among all those young and trendy kids.

Izzy picks her head up from the monitor. "Thanks, Fletch," he hears before she drops her attention again. Poor guy looked bored and just a bit lost. If this weren't important to her, she'd leave it go for the time being, but this was something that needed either done or at least started, especially if she wanted to keep up appearances.

Claire was sitting on a cot near the back wall, almost entirely cloaked in shadows. She had pulled her gun apart and was wiping down the pieces with a cloth, and there was a small black bottle of something sitting on the cot beside her. 'CLP' was printed on it in bold white lettering. Her eyes just wandered across the room, not settling on anything in particular.

Eve didn't really care which cot she took and grabbed one near Izzy. She toed her shoes off and then grimaced, "I'll have to ask River if i can talk to Mr. Alexander tomorrow..." she muttered to herself.

Throughout all of this, if anyone bothered to look in one of the back corners, it could be noticed that Rashar has pushed a cot back up against a corner and has started to carefully paint odd symbols on the walls and floors directly surrounding his bed. The paint seems to be some sort of brightly colored goop mixed with glitter that makes what is probably an annoying mixture to the eyes. Also, depending, someone might notice that Rashar when near the finished are of the symbols seems to be exuding the signs of faith in them.

Fletch snorts into Rash's general direction as he starts to shuffle the cards in his hands, his broad fingers showing surprising skill at that seemingly mundane motion. At one point he snips a card into the air and perfectly catches it in his deck mid-shuffle, face down and everything. A little grin shows on his face as he keeps on going. Fine, nobody's up for a round of poker and he doubts anybody would be up for a harmonica session. At least let him do the fucking shuffle.

(Whoops thought I had said I moved downstairs already)

Ronny followed as the others moved down below, taking up a spot in what looked to be the darkest area of the room. Unlike the others he doesn't sit on a cot instead pushing it out of the way and choosing the floor. "I hate those things, I barely fit on them anyway. I don't know to many games, but we used to play spades alot in Afghanistan." He says while observing the others activities.

Re: Chapter 1 - Introductions Are a Plus

If the symbols were glaring before, when they were just color, Izzy pointedly avoids looking at them now, keeping her attention focused elsewhere. She's not showing any indication of being bothered by Fletch's shuffling, actually finding the noise welcome in that 'background hum' kind of way. Her attention comes up from the monitor as she hears Eve's voice, too late, unfortunately, to catch Fletch's trick.

"Guess the best thing would be to ask her, either now, so she knows it's what you want to do, or first thing tomorrow. Which one was Alexander again? I really only remember the Prince and the couple of guys that were in the other stands and the jury box, the ones he called Primogen." She looks thoughtful for a second and brings up a second window, Google, and types in the word "primogen," just trying to find out what sort of title that is.

Ronny's shuffling around catches her attention, too, and she picks up on his statement about Afghanistan. So that explains some of it, maybe.

((Side note: is the first entry when one googles for Primogen. I figure she'll get the same answer, without the VTM stuff, or she'll just get a dictionary site linking to the root word "primogenitor."))

Fletch's hands stop, frozen in the air. Two packs of cards, one in each hand, forgotten by their master. It's not until a very awkward moment that Fletch regains his composure, slamming the packs together to form a perfectly smooth deck. "So, you uh, you used to be a soldier?" A slight shaking sneaks into his voice. The shuffle starts again, if only to stop his hands from shaking.

"Canadian Forces... I got out, before Afghanistan, my only tour was Bosnia," Claire said, as she started to piece her pistol back together.

"Yeah Canadian Forces for me too I was with the 2nd RCR, but I just got out recently." He responds to Claire and Fletch.

"I don't know who Mr. Alexander is either, I remember the Prince and the primogen of course. Than there was Jack, and Adam the one who brought me in was the one standing at the bailiff's spot. I'm guessing they must be titled members of the Prince's court I guess you would say. Not much up on my medieval politics." He says with what is probably the first time he's actually smiled tonight.
