Silly Lucas, Battlefield Earth was obviously the best movie ever.

You're both silly. Everyone knows Bloodrayne was the best movie ever.

Re: Random movie talky stuff.

Alright I like Super Mario Bros. so that doesn't count. I don't honestly know how bad Battlefield Earth actually was, I fell asleep in the theater during it. I base my loathing of it on the fact that it's the only movie I ever fell asleep in the theater while watching.

Manos Hands of Fate isn't that bad if you watch it with two robots during some crazy mad scientitsts experiment. Oh wait nevermind yes it was.

EDIT: You know as opposed to a sane mad scientist.

Re: Random movie talky stuff.

I liked Super Mario Brothers too. And Battlefield Earth was kinda shitty, but that was partially cuz things were expected. It at least made sense. House of the dead? Well I haven't seen Bloodrayne, but using Uwe Boll was a cheap shot on both our parts. You can't throw around Uwe Boll in a bad movie discussion, that's like citing the worst lover you've had as a rapist.

In the expected artistic response of suspension of disbelief from the audience, I didn't see anything that was unexplainable.

Battlefield Earth... the book it was based off of is fuckin huge... and written by the guy who made up Scientology.

Make sense why the movie doesn't make sense?

Not to mention every shot in the movie is AT AN ANGLE! And the retarded man children of earth learned to fly phantom jets and shoot down tie fighter things in 5 hours! John Travolta should have been dragged out into the street and shot for forcing this god awful mutant of a movie into existance. Followed by Tom Cruise solely because the man scares the crap out of me.

I think the only thing that excludes that from the list is that it wasn't actually released in a theater, unlike the others listed. Other than that, yup, points for that one. I've only ever read the I-Mockery article on it and sweet Jesus, does that thing look like a train wreck.

Re: Random movie talky stuff.

So, Madre and I went and saw Avatar today, in 3D. Previews didn't really stick with me until talking to friends later. Percy Jackson looks good, Wonderland looks good, Pirannah 3D I could do without, Shrek 4 and the, uh, what is it? Despicable me? I think I'll pass.

Avatar itself...

I liked it. Great movie. Could see the plot coming, but that's getting rather commonplace these days anyway, even without all the talk and the hype and the hooplah. Pretty movie. Wasn't wholly "immersed" as some people claim, but I did find myself wanting to reach up and brush things away that were floating in front of my face *laughs* I laughed, I cried, I "oh shit" "holy shit!" and "damn!"-ed quite a bit. Best, most phenominal movie ever? No. Kickass action romp through a fantasy world that made me laugh, cry, and "holy shit!" that I would go see again if given the chance? Yes. Will I buy it? Probably not. Was it worth seeing? Yes.

I guess I can't say much more than what has already been said about it. Just sharing my impressions, at any rate. I guess about the only thing that disappointed me (and sorry, spoilers!) is that Michelle Rodriguez has a sucktacular track record with keeping her characters alive in movies I've seen her in. Although she did provide me with one of the best laughs in the movie. Probably going to go put that up in epic quotes next, heheeh.

Re: Random movie talky stuff.

Went to see Sherlock Holmes today in the cinema, and I have to say it was a pretty good movie. Not sure how accurate it is to all the other Sherlock Holmes stuff seeing as it's the first thing to do with him I've actually watched, but it was an enjoyable film nonetheless. And the trailer for Clash of The Titans looked amazing, I'm definitely gonna have to see that when it comes out.

FF7: AC Complete finished DL'ing while I was in Cardiff, and I've just watched the extended fight scene between Cloud and Sephiroth, and I have to say it was godly. Not only did Sephiroth impale Cloud through his chest (as he did in the game) he also threw Cloud up in the air and repeatedly stab/cut/impale him. And Zack gets a speaking role in Cloud's drug trip during the battle. I could not be a more happy FF7-whore right now.
